I had an order that was on auto delivery. I was sent a email saying that it would be delivered on a certain date and was given the UPS tracking number. I waited all that day and never received the shipment. According to the UPS tracking number it was never picked up from the warehouse. I called them and cancelled that and the rest of the shipments. They then charged me $40 in UPS return and restocking fees? It never left their warehouse. This place is a rip-off. When I sent them a complaint they never responded.

Ditto to all the scam comments"

Also signed up for airline miles through American Airlines... second shipment already "processed" so couldn't cancel before 21 day active period to receive miles. Even though it was over 2 weeks out from shipment date!. Believe I will be flying another airline also if this is the kind of business that American Airline associates itself with. Zero rating

A bit sneaky, so be careful when you sign up. I signed up for the airline miles (American Cellars Wine Club) but cancelled after the first shipment (thought the wine very ordinary and not as good as what I can get locally for the same price). They kept me on their mail list and I saw a "grab bag" special that looked good, so I ordered it. Unbeknownst to me, I was actually signing up for the "Grab Bag Club" which sent quarterly shipments. I only found this out when my AmEx was charged $142 from them for a shipment which I didn't receive. Thank god I used AmEx -- they are now on my side for getting the charge reversed! Meanwhile, I have contacted the company and requested to be removed from all mailings so I don't get snookered into inadvertently joining another club when I thought I was only ordering one shipment.

BEWARE!
January 6, 2015

BEWARE!
I am very disappointed in Vinesse and the way they do business. I had enjoyed their wines and was comfortable with going online to delay or cancel a shipment, but in December I was looking at my checking account balance and there was a $268.00 charge pending on my debit card from Vinesse. I called Vinesse and they claimed it was a Christmas "bonus" shipment. It was a bonus alright... to Vinesse. I had not ordered the wine and it was not part of my agreement. It was also approximately $100.00 more than I usually spend on a shipment. They claimed to have sent a mailer prior to shipping the wine that I was supposed to send back if I didn't want it. I did not receive a mailer and that practice was not what I agreed to in joining the club. I was told they could not cancel the order since it had already been shipped, but I could refuse the order when it was delivered. They sent me an online form to complete requesting a refund and I was told it would take 7-10 business days to see my refund. That was on 12-23. On 1-6, I get an email that I was entitled to a credit minus shipping, which was more than $20.00 and it would take 7-10 additional business days to show up in my account. I have disputed the shipping charge, and I will by no means do business with a company that uses these unscrupulous tactics to make a dime.

This company sent me a case of wine, never told me that they would automatically bill my credit card (CC) and send wine in the future. When I seen charge to my CC, I canceled called to find that is was there police. They canceled the order, although sent the wine anyways. I refused the shipment and was charged shipping and handling cost.

LIKE THE OTHERS BEFORE ME THIS COMPANY IS A "SCAM". I WAS TOLD I COULD CANCEL MY ACCOUNT. I DID AFTER THE FIRST PROMOTIONAL ORDER. I RECEIVED A CREDIT FOR THE SECOND SHIPMENT BUT WAS CHARGED AND OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT FOR SHIPPING AND HANDLING. HERE'S THE ISSUE::: I CANCELLED THE ACCOUNT 5 DAYS BEFORE THE SECOND SHIPMENT. THEY STILL SENT IT OUT AND IT WAS REFUSED BY FEDEX! IF I CANCELLED 5 DAYS BEFORE SHIPMENT WHY WAS IT SENT OUT ANYWAY AND WHY WAS I CHARGED FOR THE S/H. BY THE WAY, THE WINE IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE. I CAN GE A BOTTLE FOR $5.00 AT THE LOCAL PACKY THAT IS MUCH BETTER... STAY AWAY...

SCAM ALERT!
October 9, 2014

SCAM ALERT! Whatever you do not sign up to any of their wine clubs. Aside from wines being overpriced and not good. Once they have your credit card it is EXTREMELY difficult to cancel. I tried to cancel three times. I was charged again again for wine deliveries that I could not receive because I had moved out of state. The last unauthorized charge overdrew my account which incurred multiple Bank fees, which the do not see themselves responsible for. I've now cancelled all cards they may have had on file. Save yourself the aggravation and go to TJ's

I ordered 2 bottles and got charged $57.00 out of wich 17 were Wine and $30.00 for Shipping and Handling. Fortunately I was able to stop the 3rd Shippment because they charge $15.00 per bottle shipped! So You end up Paying a total of $26.00 dollars for a crap quality bottle of wine! Save yourself the hassle, on any supermarket for $26.00 you can get a SUPERB Bottle of Wine

Became a member because of airline mileage, however, airline cancelled my miles anyway. The quality of the wine was not for me. 4 or 5 bottle went down the drain.
The taste of alcohol was very strong. The customer service rep was very polite & explained that the next shipment could be refused and credit issued. I probably will
Keep the shipment due to the reviews about the hazzle to get credit.

If you're joining through an airline promotion, I'd suggest canceling as soon as you qualify for the miles. Note: you need to call to do this. Doing it through the website merely puts your account on hold. Four months later, a $120 shipment will show up on your door with no warning.

I was a member for 4 months
July 17, 2013

I was a member for 4 months. Signed up through a promotional offer promising miles. Miles were credited behind schedule (10 weeks instead of 6-8 weeks as promised) and only after I called twice. After that, it was a similar struggle to get the promised miles following every shipment.

I signed up for the "value" offering called American Cellars Wine Club. 6 bottles ended up costing ~$125 per shipment. The wine was terrible. Literally everything they shipped was bad. At $21/bottle, I'd say this quality wine was overpriced by 3x.

Cancellation experience was also bad. I called to cancel and 3 days later they still shipped a box. I ended up refusing the shipment but they went dragging their feet on the refund, providing endless excuses. I ended up filing a chargeback request through my bank.

To sum it up... In exchange for your cash, you get some mileage bonus, some headaches and a lot of bad wine. All in all, it was not worth it.

I joined Vinesse through the bonus mileage program of US Airways. However after I joined it I did not get the same amount of miles as they advertised.

Anyway, so far Vinesse appears to be a legit business to me. They send out their monthly shipment on time (overly on time), but charge your credit card a good deal of $120 without noticing you in advance about that amount. If you call them them they will tell you that, the monthly fee is previously set and agreed, sorry if you are not satisfied, if you want to you can switch to one shipment per two months etc.

So in general, the customer service is pretty good. Their reps answer all sorts of questions and make an effort to help you resolve your issue. Seems like these reps have a certain amount of flexibility in their hand to "customize" the company policy to suit your specific needs.

Last but not least, the wines! Usually one shipment comes in 6 bottles. If that's too much you can switch to bi-monthly shipment. I have had several bottles now and the quality is... The desert wines/sparkling wines are ok. But this is only a personal opinion. The avg. Value of the ones I got is probably just around $10-$20. Maybe that explains the quality.
