I signed up for the airline promotion for frequent flyer miles and was immediately charged $41.00 to my card. I received the case of 6 bottles two weeks later.
The rules said I would get 2500 miles for the first shipment. After drinking the wines, I was not happy so I called to cancel my membership. I submitted my request form for the miles, but I received an email saying I did not qualify because I had to be member for at least 21 days. Nowhere did it say this in the advertising when I join. What it did say "Satisfaction guaranteed" and "Cancel at anytime".
This is not true, Avoid this company.
I was very surprised to see so many negative reviews of Vinesse. I used them for a couple of years, and did get some "fair" wines that I thought were very overpriced, but occasionally they sent some very good wines. The only reason I'm writing this tonight is because my wife and I opened a bottle from Vinesse that I've had for about 3 years, and it is awesome. I wanted to see if it was possible to get more, and saw this website. I felt compelled to write something nice about Vinesse.
I waited all day for the shipment to arrive and it never came. I immediately cancelled my membership and was told I would automatically receive a credit when the shipment got back to them. This did NOT happen. AND they had the nerve to deduct a restocking fee even though their own delivery company was at fault. Worst customer service ever!
Delivering wine is a tricky situation because someone 21 years or over has to sign. So it's a crap shoot if you're even home. I wasn't home for a delivery so their shipping company left a notice. I called them and arranged for a delivery the next day between 8AM and 12PM. No one showed, I had to leave my home. Then they attempted another delivery late that same day, no one home to sign. I had already wasted 4 hours of my time (and this was not the first incident). Since this wasn't the first time I called customer service and cancelled my subscription for the reason of THEIR DELIVERY COMPANY IS A WASTE OF TIME. I then got a condescending email telling me that my subscription was cancelled, and because I refused the shipment to be delivered at another time (yep, the one that didn't come when I waited for 4 hours) I was being charged a 15% re-stocking fee plus all shipping. The wines were mediocre at best. Sorry that I let the lure of American Airlines Advantage Miles ever get me involved with this company. We belong to 4 winery wine clubs, never a single issue. Do not sign-up, not worth the headaches involved, including from their wine choices. Shame on you American Airlines, bad choice!
FRAUDSTERS... SCAM ARTIST... THIEVES... I received an introductory offer from American Advantage for Vinesse Wine for $41.95, I used my credit card to purchase this item. I later found out that the company withdrew $104.95 from my account. When I found out I made a 3 way call with my banker on the phone, I refuted the charge and I requested a refund the representative told me that once the wine is returned unopened they would refund the monies. I asked the representative what about the return shipping cost and he told me I could refuse the shipment or return it unopened and I would not be charged. When they delivered the shipment they delivered it to a neighbor. I had to take it back to UPS who said I had to pay $16.00. I paid the $16.00 and requested a refund from Vinesse. They have refused to do so. Low life scum hustlers thieves, fraudsters. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE. I WISH I HAD READ THEIR REVIEWS FIRST. I AM GOING TO WRITE AMERICAN ADVANTAGE AND ASK THEM TO BE AWARE OF WHO THEY DO BUSINESS WITH.
I could go on a 10 paragraph rant about how terrible this company but it would just make me more angry. For your own good, stay away.
When I joined Vinesse I was not aware of any recurring membership fees. My first two shipments contained drinkable wines, but they were probably not worth the amount charged. The next two shipments contained wines that were not very palatable, and not worth the price. Vinnesse then withdrew a $30 recurring membership fee from my account, without warning or notification. This was the tip of the iceberg, so I cancelled.
I was not informed a shipment had been placed and was going to have to pay 45. For shipping plus a "restocking" fee for what appears to be 6 bottles of very very cheap wine. All from California, all about 5.00 per bottle off the shelf. I spoke with customer service and even though I had not signed for the shipment I was still unable to return without unreasonable charges. Do not buy from this company. They have no -name cheap wine, and almost scam approach to sending a shipment without notification. Stick to Amazon who informs you ahead of time and always has outstanding customer service. Do not order anything from Vinesse
I placed an initial order for all white wine selection. What I received was half reds and white wine mix. The remaining white wines contained only one possibly drinkable bottle of chardonnay, so I asked for a return of the entire shipment refund, I was informed that I would have to pay for return shipping and to add insult injury an additional 15% restocking fee would be subtracted to the value of the return.
I called them today and inquire something and the lady on the other line was yelling at me. I have't tried their wine yet but already had a bad feeling. Of note, they also charge a $31 (or something like that) membership fee that they don't tell you.
You guys don't get very good ratings. After having experiencing it first hand, I can see why. I filed a BBB complaint. I doubt that they will do anything.
This club does not notify you when they are shipping an order to you. I called them to cancel, and was told that they had already shipped the order, and to send it back. UPS left two notices that they tried to deliver when I was not home. I called UPS and told them not to try to deliver again, that the company had told me to return it. Without notifying me they charged return shipment and 15% restocking fee. This is the worst wine club ever. I have belonged to other wine clubs, and never had any problem with them. I do not recommend Vinesse!
The bait with intro offer by e-mail but should not send teasing e-mails for into offer if used and then charge full prices
I returned a case I hadn't ordered or bee given notice of and an opportunity to reject. They withheld from the refund some $40 for shipping, handling and "restocking!" The wines were mediocre and not worth their supposed bargain prices. Bad people!
The miles are not worth it. Like other reviews here and with the BBB, this isnt an ethical company. They pretend to be one (Vinesse) but actually operate as an umbrella organization; canceling memberships and getting refunds are difficult.
Further, the wine is overpriced and not good. Save yourself some frustration and find another option.
Half the wine was thrown away. The other half was unremarkable. Try to cancel and you will find the wine just keeps coming. Finally a letter to the BBB got things stopped.
They lie. The refuse to issue credits when they are due. The do not return phone calls. They do not cancel memberships when requested. Then after you return what was not ordered they charge outrageous shipping and restocking fees.
I signed up for the airlines promotion and was immediately charged $41.00 to my card which I was presume is a membership fee that is not disclosed any place obvious on their site, I searched for it before joining and finding nothing about it, I presumed there is one. Now I have to try to cancel and hopefully get the fee returned.
Will report back later - customer service is closed for the weekend.
I signed up in order to get the miles, but like a lot of other people who have written reviews, I was cheated out of my miles! When I contacted support to inquire, they just said, "We require an account to be active for 21 days from the processing date of the 1st and 2nd shipments in order to be allotted your miles. The account was closed on the 18th day. I do apologize for any inconvenience but the 2nd shipment miles can not be uploaded." THIS WAS NOT STIPULATED IN THE AGREEMENT. I am sorry I ever signed up! Not worth the time or the hassle.
When you start, its hard to stop! I had to cancel my credit card to get them to stop shipping. And if they leave it on your porch, I have pre-signed with delivery companies, you can't return without 15% restock fee. What a bunch of pooh! I'm posting on Facebook and Twitter not to do business with them.
