Substandard wines. No way to cancel without calling. They won't even let you if you email customers service. So inconvenient. And the way they surprise you with automatic deliveries and charges for wine you don't want is ridiculous!
This company is completely disreputable. Their guarantee comes with only a 45 day satisfaction policy. If you buy a case like i did i did not get to their disgusting wines until after 45 days. Do not participate in their offers. You will be sorry.
Shipped without notice, charged for shipping and restocking fee of wine I didn't was-total bait and switch, was told I could have logged in to prevent shipment, but my login was " locked out" preventing. All I got then was "sorry for the inconvenience" Cost me $40 for wine I sent back, piece of mind not paying $130 for 6 bottles of bad wine!
After the initial shipment, UPS attempted 3 times to deliver a case that I did not order. I may have accepted it, however like most of us I work during the day and cannot sign for a shipment. So I called customer service and explained the situation, and then they said they would credit my account LESS 15%! Very deceiving, and now I will dispute this with my credit card company. Total hassle. Beware.
They are dishonest and will find every way and anyway possible to ship to you! Beware wine drinker :(
Like 90 percent of the 1 star ratings, I orders a trial sample of wines at about $50.00 and now they are shipping me cases which I did not order. I stopped payment through my bank and will also do so on my cc. Please beware. The complaints are true.
I called the company to put future shipments on hold as I would be away and then would be moving. They shipped anyway. I called their customer service. Their rep apologized and told me I would get a full credit. Then I got an e-mail from another customer service claiming they notifiied me by e-mail that they were resuming shipments, and would not be giving me a full credit even though I scheduled with UPS to return the complete un-open shipment.
I agreed to the sample lot and paid for it at the introductory sample price. Then I received the
Next shipment of six bottle and was charged $127.00 for about $80.00 worth of wine.
I checked each bottle on the Vivino App and they are pretty accurate on prices and
I was shocked to see that this company would charge a 33% mark up.
DO NOT JOIN THIS CLUB... get away as quick as you can.
Agreed to the sample lot... paid for it, introductory sample price.
Now I have 2 charges of 127 against this card and no other wine has came...
Don't want it and won't use it... the samples were cut rate stuff anyways!
This is just some scam crooks
I signed up like others on the AAdvantage offer. I got my miles, read the stipulations and cancelled after my last qualified shipment shipped. The wines were a little overpriced after the initial "special" pricing. The packaging was good and wines kept piling up. I enjoyed all the wines and cancelled it because I can just order what I want or go to the liquor store. If I remember correctly, it was a pain to cancel, but I had no issues with billing.
Got my second shipment and it cost $127.00... What the ****! I got sent two bottle each of three different mediocre wines to complete my order of 6 wines a month. I never expected to get the same wines over and over. I was told the wines would all be different. I would never pay this much for the wines I go, especially not duplicates. Anyway I only joined because of the American Airlines Promotion. I haven't been awarded any points yet for that so I am starting to think I am being shafted for the points too. Seriously I am really disappointed with this company.
I signed up for the wine club because of the AA shopping bonus and promo. Like other reviewers, not only did the prices go up, but the quality of the wines went down. You have to call to cancel your membership. You will be told that next month's shipment has already been charged and that will be your last shipment. If you say that you do not want the next shipment you will be told it's already charged but you can be emailed a refund request form. Once you fill this out you will get a response in a few days that your request has been denied since the next order has already been processed and if you send the wine back you will be charged a shipping fee of $16+
If you call customer service back you will be told it's basically out of there hands and that there is no manager avalible. I'm still waiting for that manager to get back to me. This has scam written all over it. It's very sad that American Airlines would promote such a company!
I'm having the charge and all future charges disputed from my AMEX. I'll also be refusing the shipment and I'm sure I'll get charged a shipping and restocking fee like many others have reported. I'll be disputing that too. I've contacted AA via email (it's all they have for that department.) You can call American Airlines and they will send you an email with contact information for the merchant department. I reccomend all mistreated by this company to do the same and have aAmerican Airlines remove them from their site. I'm shocked and saddened that their company has gotten away with this scam for so long.
Time we all get it stopped so others don't fall victim to the scam. Wish I had know all this before I orderd from them! Do not place an order with this company.
I appreciate everyone's reviews before I gave my cc info. Seemed too good to be true. Too bad
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY WILL SHIP YOU WINE WITHOUT YOUR AUTHORIZATION, WHEN YOU REFUSE THE UNEXPECTED SHIPMENT AND ASK FOR A REFUND, THEY WILL DEDUCT SHIPPING COSTS AND A 15% RESTOCKING FEE FROM YOUR CREDIT. A REAL SCAM! MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR SINGING UP FOR!
This wine shipper is not honest in what they advertise, ship and charge. I filled out the offer of 6 bottles for 49.99 ( no where on the paper - and I looked closely - did it state I was also signing up for auto ship. Not only did they charge me $127.26 instead of the 49.99 (which NO ONE would help me get it reduced! They just DON"T care) they then charged my card for $257.00 for an auto ship two months later. I called and tried to get help, but they don't care - I refused the shipment, but still got billed for the shipping and "restocking" charge. RIPOFF COMPANY!
I joined the club. The next day I realized that a signature was required for deliveries so I called to cancel. They told me that they do not cancel orders and if I wanted to send the wine back after it was delivered they would charge me $25 for the initial delivery and 15% restocking fee (on top of the cost of shipping the wine back). They hadnt even prepared or shipped the first order yet! I again explained that I wouldnt be home to receive the order and I wasnt trying to ship it back and reminded them that it hadnt even shipped yet. One week later the bill shows up on my credit card with NO ATTEMPTED DELIVERY! The cust service rep had a very bad attitude and was no help at all. This was basically a robbery! Stay away from Vinesse
Clicked on Hawaiian miles offer. Read every fine print. Placed order and was given zero information during the process or on the receipt that the offer I selected did not qualify as apparently I was a repeat customer and therefore would be not valid but decided to just go ahead and complete the purchase AT TRIPLE THE PRICE of the offer I selected. Called immediately after seeing the large $$$ hold on my CC and they refused to cancel the order even though it was only "in processing". I therefore can clearly characterize these guys as CROOKS! Think you can just refuse shipment? Guess again, they also use aggressive shipping agents who slam on door for minutes and pound doorbell repeatedly to get you to accept shipment by just opening the door... and then will put it down, leave quickly and call it delivered with no signature!
In the end, working with the BBB, sending proof of emails, image captures of the offer and lots back and forth dialogue refuting their lies, I finally got these scum bags to concede the offer and refund my $$. Never again. Avoid the hassle and look elsewhere.
I'd like to understand two things; why everything I'm sent is from last year and why their website doesn't tell you how to cancel the membership. I just opened a Barbera from Italy which is awful. There are much better wine clubs out there with a better selection.
They ship in advance of when they say they will say and then don't let you know until you get a Fedex. Therefore, you don't have a chance to refuse the shipment.
Then, if you refuse you get hit with a $40 charge for NOTHING!
This club is totally different than others i have dealt with.
Never buy from them!
I will try to dispute through my credit card company.
Like the 94% who has written negative reviews. I've had the same personal experience.
You have to wonder why Consumer Protection, Attorney Generals and Better Business bureaus have not taken some type of action to protect the public from this business.
I know I'll be sharing my personal experience on many web sites. Bob
