Buyer beware
May 25, 2023

I ordered a console table. The product was supposed to be polished, painted, and lacquered. It was none of those things. The wood is rough to the touch and looked nothing like the advertised piece I wanted. The bottom shelf was completely broken as well. I am including a photo of the advertised piece, a photo of the piece I received and a photo of the cracked piece.

As per the description on the website this product is made of solid reclaimed wood that has been sourced from joists, floors and support beams from old buildings being demolished, and can consist of different types of wood like pine, teak, beech, oak, cedar, mango wood, acacia, etc. The wood has also been polished, painted and lacquered.

Product took weeks to come from Ontario. Door fronts poorly made and misjointed and poorly put together. Measurements were all different. When reported with pictures, I was not offered a full refund, but a coupon against some furure purchase. Then I was given a reference number for pick up and no pickup. The product was garbage and I asked for a refund according to their website stated policy. BUYER BEWARE!

I just bought cabinet from Vida Xl, quality is so bad I can't even explain. Description to establish cabinet is poor, and takes forever to make it. I am so disappointed. If we didn't establish everything for sure I will return it. Regret this purchase!

I purchased (4) butterfly chairs totaling over $600
(set of black and white and set of brown and white). Brown and white were purchased separately. One of the black and white chairs is missing a part, and is poorly constructed (has cowhide sticking out of places it should not, has bald spots, and does not match the picture advertised.
I reached out to Overstock to resolve the issue,( full refund) but was told since it was pass the return date and to be fair to its customers, it was nothing they could do. I informed them that I would be providing feedback on several platforms regarding my experience with Vidaxl, and then I was informed they would transfer the case to the escalation dep. My question is if they live by their brand standards as it pertains to customer care, why was this option not offered to me in the beginning? After receiving several computer generated responses, I received a real response from a representative of the Escalation Dep. Informing they couldn't offer a refund just a replacement. I asked questions regarding the return process like ( would a free return label be offered, what carrier service I needed to return the item to, or would they provide pick up service). None of the questions were answered. I was informed that if I agreed to the return, a label would be created. A few more computer generated responses were sent, before a real representative reached out to offer a partial payment of $40.00 if I chose to keep the chair that I can't use. THIS COMPANY HAS SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

Missing shed parts
January 28, 2023

I purchased a metal shed from a distributor of VidaXL on Ebay and did not try to assemble the shed for 10 months. The kit is missing (2) critical parts and VidaXL will not help to get replacement parts. I even offer to pay a fee for the parts. Very disappointed. Update: After several emails, vidaXL has now supplied the missing parts to me. Not sure why it took so much work to make this happen but, in the end they did make good on the deal.

Buyers Beware

I purchased a deck box last month. The box arrived with broken top and sides and mishaped connectors. I sent photos to VidaXL. I was told that I could dispose of the broken item and the replacement would be sent. About 2 weeks later, I was told to return the item even though the shipping box and the broken pieces were thrown away. Then I was told that the item could not be replaced because they didn't have any. When I came to the site and found that it's still being sold... I wrote customer service and was told then that a replacement had been ordered. A month has gone by now and there's been no replacement. I reached out to inquire for the tracking number and then Today I get an email asking me to return the broken item because the warehouse can't ship. Shame on VidaXL for being a disreputable company knowing that this was for a Christmas gift. I will never purchase anything from this company in the future. Buyers beware!

WOULD GIVE 0 STAR RATING IF COULD

We purchased their vidaXL Console Table Solid Fir Wood 48"x13.8"x31.5" via the Bed Bath & Beyond website. Table arrived with dent in top. We had to go through vidaXL, not Bed Bath Beyond, to return it. The UPS return label link they sent didn't work, and we ended up having to use a different path to create the label which required paying $13 to have UPS pick up. They wouldn't ship a replacement table until they had proof UPS had picked up the first one. We still haven't received a credit from them for the $13. Replacement table finally arrived after much back and forth with them. Once again, while assembling it we discovered another damaged piece. We're awaiting a UPS label from vidaXL to return this second table. Got reply from them that they'd respond in 3 business days. Company is very slow with responsiveness. After receiving damaged goods both times, we have no confidence in their products. Communication on their part regarding the many issues we've had (and I've not described all of them) has been haphazard at best. We definitely do NOT recommend the table we purchased nor anything from vidaXL. We've wasted way too much time assembling, disassembling, repacking, and communicating with the company. We'll next be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Defective products, Poor service
I ordered an outdoor lit Christmas tree. Within the 1st 24 hours the lights stopped working. I emailed the company asking for replacement lights. They told me told me it was not possible to get replacements, I would have to return and reorder. I tore the whole thing down (took 2 hours putting together and 2 hours to take down) and sent it back. I ordered another. 2 days later these lights stopped working. I emailed the company asking to either refund partial so I could buy replacement lights or either send me a return label. I was then told they could send replacement lights in 2-3 weeks. This is a Christmas decoration. It's only up for 4 weeks. I told them then to just send me a return label, like they did last time. I was then told that they had already refunded me. They got the ordered mixed up. I am 9 days past asking for a return with still no solution. They only respond in the middle of the night, so they are not US based. Terrible customer service and a terrible experience.

This is not a reputable company. I stayed on the phone trying to get a return label to take to the UPS store. Just received a run around from 2 people. All they did was lie to me. Of course, I was told lthat they are emailing it to me and I sat by the computer hitting yhr refresh button. You are then put on hold forever. I was then told they would schedule a pick up that did not need a label. Put on hold again and this time no one came back on the line for over 1 hr. I am going to the NC attorney general's office about this company.

Never, Ever order from this company

I ordered four XLvidal Sunlounger chairs from Overstock.com. Vidal was listed as a third party seller.My husband had a really hard time assembling them as the parts were difficult to put together.(Unfortunately I usually do this and would have noticed it sooner.) After two months of light use the joints started to come apart and wood was splitting on all four chair around the assembled prices. When a whole arm popped off I saw the joints were covered in wood glue with splinters in the mortise holes. We did not use any glue. Evidently these chairs had been assembled and broken apart to ship and sell. Overstock escalated my request for a full refund with Vidal and someone named Diane offering me a refund of 499 dollars on a purchase of $1500. 00. I declined. After more complaints to Overstock they sent an email requesting my email address(so Overstock could no longer monitor the case).
This was their response:
" er Comment: Dear Sir/Madam,

We are so sorry for the unsatisfied purchase and we are willing to solve the problem.
According to the reply of our other departments, we can only provide you with return for full replacement service, and please send us your Email address.

I do not even know what that means do I pay to ship the chairs back after taking them apart and then wait for them to replace them if they ever do? I will be starting a case with my credit card company directly.

Purchase patio furniture, items came dirty and rusted. I contacted the company for return, received an email with return shipping label and a refund will be issued in 3 days after product is received back. I shipped package back, per POD package was received on July 21st. It is now August 25th and nothing! I've reach out and all I get is they're still processing my return. Also they've completely removed my order from the website so it looks like I never ordered anything and they won't respond to my emails. BUYER BEWARE! Company has shady business practices!

Four months ago, I purchased a brand new brushed aluminum aviator style TV stand from Vida-XL on their eBay store. When it arrived, the item had suffered some damage during the manufacturing process, and when I submitted photos with a claim, Vida-XL promised a partial refund adjustment.

Except that instead of sending a refund to my original method of payment, they sent me a PDF of a form that literally said,"We admit we owe you $xx." The company called it a "credit note" and claimed that eBay could use the form to send funds back to my credit card. That is not true - eBay flatly stated it was worthless and they could do nothing with it. Multiple emails later, and Vida-XL wanted me to give them access to my bank account, which is fraudulent and a violation of eBay rules. They claim they cannot cut a paper check and mail it to me, and they claim they cannot refund to my original method of payment, which even eBay disputes. I have had to file a claim directly with my credit card company to get my refund. Their I. O. U. "Credit note" is a worthless waste of time, and my TV stand is still damaged. I should have returned the whole mess.

Bottom line, Vida-XL is a shady company with poor product quality control and abysmal, incompetent and even fraudulent customer service. Do business with them at your own risk!

Room divider sucks
September 4, 2022

I ordered a room divider and I was looking forward to it and after receiving it. I was very disappointed, it was just some metal sticks and a few pieces of cloths. Not worth it 60 bucks, I threw it out the same day because it would not stand as they claimed it would.

Complete Disappointment
August 7, 2022

Prior to making a purchase of 2 beach chairs I wrote and asked if the hardware used to connect the chair pieces would rust. I was assured they would not so I purchased 2 chairs. When I received them not only was the hardware steel…and would rust, but one of the chairs was missing some hardware which made the chair useless. You couldn't even sit in the chair.
After 4 or 5 days of corresponding I received shipping labels and was told that if I would send a copy they would expedite credit and I wouldn't have to wait 3 days to receive my refund. I took a picture of the UPS receipt and sent it to them. After 2 days I still didn't have a refund so I requested a callback. I received a call about 5 hours later and was then told she was requesting my refund credit and I should receive it in 2-5 business days!
Why did I bother to send them a copy?
One star is too much. Avoid this company like you would avoid COVID.
They do not have good quality control. Their customer service lies about the products they sell and they mislead you about your refund.
The quality of their products are not very good.

Don't buy anything from Vida XL they are a scanZ they will send you broken damaged items and then they won't accept returns. If you do send back the return damaged pieces they will claim they did not receive all the boxes etc… just so they won't refund your money. DO NOT BUY anything from them you will waste your money and your time.

Terrible

I purchased a VidaXL Gazebo. On trying to put it up it fell over & twisted because the tin it is made of is too thin. It can not be welded & therefore can not be repaired. 100 small bolts to assemble & very poor quality.
