I booked my tickets to India from their website. They didn't send any confirmation and I called them after an hour. They said the booking failed but they charged my debit card and said the money would be refunded in 4-5 business days. What the heck? How can someone charge the card when the booking failed? They are basically playing a game. They show low fares on various portals and attract customers to their website, even though they know they can't get that fare from the airlines. After that they will say the booking didn't go through but charge the card and keep the money in their account for few days. This is the worst travel agency I have dealt with so far. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
Hi,
Vayama has charged me TWICE for the same reservation. They agree a dupe ticket had been charged (equal to the amount for 2 business class passengers). I keep hearing from them they are trying to resolve and waiting for airlines to respond. The airline has been very responsive to me already and have said this is on Vayama of course since we booked with them. How else can I contact the Senior management to get this resolved. I have never booked with Vayama before, the first time and they charge me double :(
Fraud, stay away from this company.
1. They say you can cancel within 24hrs, when you can't if you try to.
2. They charge fees that are barely legal. They overcharge change fees, cancelation fees, basically making money on the airlines fees.
3. The customer service is non existent to the point you wonder if they have a policy to let you wait in order for you to hang up.
4. When you call their "emergency number", no one ever picks up the phone, and the line disconnects after 10 min on hold. Good luck if you want to cancel a ticket within their time deadline.
These people should be taken to court. I am considering to do just this, the least I will file a complaint with the commerce department for unfair practices.
I purchased a ticket through Vayama website. I received two confirmation codes and two separate Vayama charges on my credit card. I called Vayama, spoke to a customer service representative who told me there was just one ticket and I shouldn't worry, it would fall off my credit card and I would only be charged once. Three days later I see there are still two tickets and two charges on my account (except this time they've actually posted to my credit card and the amount has been withdrawn TWICE). I emailed Vayama and didn't receive a response (even though I have an email tracker and I know they read my email), I then called Vayama and spoke to an employee who said her name was Susan, I explained the situation: Her company had charged me twice for the same ticket, and I just wanted a refund for the double charge. Susan was by far, the rudest customer service person I have EVER had to deal with. She said it was my problem, I had bought two tickets and there was nothing she or anyone could do about it. I explained to her that it was literally impossible for me to buy two tickets for myself for the same flight on the same day, at the same time. And I kindly asked if I could speak to her supervisor. She said "I am the supervisor and I won't be transferring you to anyone, so whatever you want to say you can say to me, but you paid for the ticket twice so it's your fault and that's that" She was so rude and literally shouting at me, that my husband who was on the other side of the room asked me who was shouting at me on the other line. He could not believe it was a customer service rep. Really unacceptable and unprofessional. This "Susan" agent/supervisor was unwilling to see that maybe there was some glitch in her system, maybe their website put my card through twice, she just blamed the customer for the problem and refused to help resolve it.
I then called Lufthansa - the company that Vayama had booked me to travel with, and they said it was a really easy fix, all Vayama had to do was call them, give them the duplicate ticket numbers and the airline would credit me back for one. This woman "Susan" was unwilling to help me in any way and didn't offer this as a potential solution. Had I booked directly with Lufthansa, this would not have been an issue. For a company that deems themselves a "Travel agent with great customer support" this has absolutely not been my experience. I spoke to Lufthansa who told me all Vayama had to do was "Contact the Lufthansa travel agency support line, explain the situation, give my two travel confirmations and get a waiver to cancel booking for free."
But Vayama refused to call Lufhtansa, they refused to transfer me to an actual supervisor, they lied about one of the charges falling off my credit card and then blamed me for a double booking and told me that it was my fault that I had spent the money on the same ticket twice and there was nothing they could/would do about it. I asked Susan "What normal human being would purchase two tickets for themselves for the same flight on the same day at the exact same time? Does that seem like something people do?" It must have been a technical issue, and yet, they were unwilling to take responsibility, or even try to fix the problem which according to the airline would take only a phone call from the travel agent! Instead they are choosing to hold on to my money (TWICE) and refusing to provide any customer support regarding this situation. This is unjust, unfair and HAS to be illegal, especially since the airline assured me this happens from time to time and travel agents usually just call in and fix the double booking. Vayama's unwillingness to help in this situation is unacceptable. I filed a claim with the BBB, another claim with the FTC and another claim with the ASTA, I also filed a dispute with my credit card for the double charge, and sent a second email to Vayama. Still no resolution, and what should have been a $482 flight has turned into a $964 one way ticket! I hope justice is done. I recommend not supporting this company or it's sister companies, they should be held accountable for their terrible customer service. Please note that Vayama is owned by Travix International B. V. and some sister companies include: BudgetAir, CheapTicktes, Flugladen, Vayama, Vliegwinkel and others. Please do not support any of these companies, as they all fall under the same corporate umbrella and probably have this kind of terrible customer service across the board.
No surprise they have 1 star (out of 5) on average from 91 reviewers on BBB! #Vayama #*******@Vayama
I purchased ticket with incorrect name and my mother almost missed her flight. Vayama corrected the name after she arrived at her destination (no use). Then after name was corrected I was told to pay full price for another ticket as Vayama bought a whole new ticket. This was a round trip ticket. There is no way in hell I was going to buy $1200 ticket twice. This company is a sham. Pay little more and go some where else.
Vayama is a bad, travel agency.! DON'T USE THEM.! They take Your money even When the airlines refund a flights, their costumer service people are rude and unprofessional
It is obvious that they has no intention to refund the amount that they received from United to us, they are predatory travel company As they bilk money from their customers and provide horrible customer service it, unfortunate. I would recommend nobody to make business with them.!
Booked my flight and took funds then sent an email cancelling the flight
Money was gone from my account!
Terrible customer service
I booked a flight a VAYAMA.COM and received an email confirming my flights followed by a cancellation email without any explanatory reasons. I only read the email the day of my booking. Considering I had booked other relatives on that same flight and my tickets were cancelled, I immediately rebooked the same flight using Vayama again. (My bad). After successful booking my tickets for the second time, I phoned VAYAMA to ensure that this time around my tickets would not get cancelled. I spoke to an agent that notified me that my previous flight was not cancelled and apologized for the cancellation email I had received. The agent told me that my new booking had not been processed and the e-ticket had not been issued therefore not to worry about double booking. He confirmed that I wouldn't get charged for the new booking since the first booking was still valid. Two days after, I noticed that both flights had been charged to my credit card. I immediately sent an email to VAYAMA's customer care and never received a response from them. Three days after, I called them to report this duplicate charge. I was told impolitely that I should have called after receiving the cancellation email and rebooking this flight was solely my responsibility and therefore my mistake. The agent disregarded the fact that the first agent I had spoken to after booking my second attempt had told me that I wouldn't get double charged.
Shocked by the direct, unprofessional and rude attitude towards my complaint, I briefly made a google search on VAYAMA.COM and quickly realized I had booked with an unreliable company. For those reading this, please avoid this company at all cost!
WE have faced a big issue with the ticket we have reserved through VAYAMA website.
WE had bought 2 transit tickets to Seychelles from Milan. However, due to some situations we could not go to Milan so we decided to catch our flight in Istanbul (after we called and checked it is okay to)!
When we reached the airport the airlines didn't let us go through because the ticket booked from vayama is the worst type of ticket that does not allow you to use it if you missed on any destination! Not even the return ticket!
Hence, we lost all the money we paid for the tickets and hotel stay and this has ruined our Honeymoon!
The airline said that only Vayama can let us use the rest of our tickets, however, when we reached out for them explaining our situation and asking to use the rest of the tickets or get a partial refund they did not not try to assist in anyway. They just said the ticket is non-refundable!
When I asked them about the policy that they have on such an issue (missing on one ticket) they did not highlight it. They just said go read the policy which has non of that stated!
On top of their customer service sending emails with typos and sending a screenshot of the link instead of the link!
This website is a nightmare. Please stay away
They charged me double for one booking reference, every time that I called them just one operator answered and I tried to talk with a supervisor but that operator refused, he was very impolite, their cancellation fee is too expensive and unfair
Vayama charged me twice for the one person travelling in the same date, sametime and in same fight number. Airline said they have one booking for that person as "one person can't board twice in the sameflight!". I tried to call vayama, there is no way to contact them. They listed a phone number in the name of Travix Travel USA, which does not even exist *******856), I tried to call them several times. Basically no way to contact them.
Vayama Customer Support at *******777, goes direct to outsource center in India, where nobody can understand or deal with problem like mine.
Wow! I can't believe I got scammed into buying a ticket through this awful company. Hours after purchasing, they didnt send me a confirmation # but rather canceled my ticket due to an error on their end where the prices were not accurately listed? What kind of company doesn't keep up to date with their listings? Oh right, Vayama. AND they
Are holding my money for 5-10 business days and cannot purchase a ticket until then. Perfect. Email is as follows:
"Unfortunately, your booking request on Vayama US failed. During the booking process, the airline provided us incorrect seat availability for the price you selected, regrettably we were unsuccessful to rebook your seats.
We have cancelled your booking request and refunded your payment of USD 1195. 00.
Because of the processing time required by the banks and credit card companies, it may take up to 5 - 10 working days before you can see this payment in your account. Unfortunately, we cannot expedite this process due to external parties."
This is my legit review about Vayama. We booked a whole trip for a family of four to Mexico last March. Due to an unfortunate event, we had to cancel the whole trip. Lucky me I purchased the insurance travel trip to AIG. So our money got refunded 75% from the total cost. (the insurance cost itself is around $100). Vayama stated in the beginning that they would refund the tax money, each person is $89 so total of four is $356 - Vayama processing fee is $25, so total money I should get back is $331. This issue has been pending since June 15th. They told me the manager's name is CURTIS, he promised me back June, the money will be processed back in 6 working days, but til now, second week of October, no email or no money from Vayama. I STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED DEALING BUSINESS WITH VAYAMA. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS RUDE, IMPOLITE. One time one of the customer service tried to yell back at me, which was totally uncalled for. Until this moment I still received my money back. SO BUYERS BEWARE NEVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY.
The worst customer service I've ever reached. I submitted a name correction request due to their "mandatory" Given name on the website while we do not have a Given name in our country. So ticket was issued with a duplicated name.
10 days ago, they stated that they will get back to me within 48 hours. I called them and no updates! Till now, I'm still waiting for the name correction to be done while I need the updated ticket urgently to submit it. They just telling me to wait. Seriously?
I booked through cheaptickets.hk and it turns out it is one of the Vayama's subsidiaries overseas. They outsource their customer services to India; therefore, if you are calling their customer services, you will be talking to one of the Indian representatives who have little knowledge about airlines, terms & conditions. They will speak to you like a robot repeating on the things they see on their screen and does not try their best to help you with your concern.
I needed to change my flight itinerary to arrive HK a week earlier, and they keep saying that my tickets are non-refundable. I understand the cost of the ticket is non-refundable and any changes are not permitted. Afterward, I demand that the tax on the ticket need to be refunded to me because I am not using the services. My husband is working in the accounting department. Therefore, he knows his things. And then the Indian rep continuing saying, "Ma'am, your tickets are not refundable" repeatedly when I explain to him that the tax is a separate issue.
We asked him to let us talk to his manager, and then he put us on hold without letting us know and 10 seconds later, he was like, "my manager said it's not refundable." My husband and I told him, okay, your manager is there, give her the phone so we can speak to her. The ridiculous thing is what he said afterward, "No, you need to hang up and call us back again with the same number to talk to the manager. We don't have the function to transfer the call." We told him, "Okay, don't transfer the call. Just give it to your manager since you just "spoke" to her. Because we are not dumb to try and call back the same number because someone else will be picking up the phone and that person is not going to be you nor your manager."
It makes me furious to see a white lie because nowadays, what kind of office phone that doesn't have the function to transfer the call? Especially for a customer service team?
And so the rep that I spoke to keep saying, "Ma'am you need to call us again in the next 24 hours while we look up the information for you." I requested them to send me a confirmation email saying that they will assign someone to work on this case. We keep going back and forth on this conversation for five minutes, and then the rep hung up the phone on me in the middle of our discussion.
I felt so mistreated as a customer and not very welcoming when it comes to term with my schedule. They are supposed to be my travel agent to help me feel at ease with the flights I booked with them. However, they have neglected their duty and makes me feel less like a customer but someone asking them for a favor while paying a hefty price.
Never again will I book through Vayama and it's subsidiary because you will never get the assistant that you need. It is better to just go through a traditional travel agent that you trust whom you can speak to via face-to-face.
Please do not use vayama! Customer service was extremely unprofessional. They are FRAUDS and it is a scam based on review below
I booked a flight for my family of 4 to Kenya. After a week I needed to change the return flight and that's where the nightmare began. First they told me it was going to be over $12,000 in ticket price difference and that they would send me an email in a few days when the price dropped. I never got a call back. So I called again and they said there were no seats available for the day I needed to return. I was literally looking at seats online when the customer service rep said that. I had to argue with him to get him to offer seats to me! Then he rattles off all the fees associated with changing the tickets ($100/ticket admin fee to Vayama, $200/ticket to the airline) and he tells me that the difference in price was like $18. I said fine, make the change, he sent me a link to pay and I did. I was told I'd get the e-tickets in 4-5 hours. I call back the next day because there were no tickets. Then I was told it takes 24 hours to get the tickets. Then I get an email saying they tried to call (but they didn't leave a message) and for me to call them. I call them and they claim that I agreed to an additional $150/ticket for a fare difference and that they tried to charge my credit card but it was denied! Uh yeah, because that wasn't included in the email requesting payment! Anyway I'm talking to the customer service rep (clearly Indian) and he's blaming me saying I was being rude, etc. I asked to speak to a supervisor hoping for better customer service. NOPE! I agree with the rest of the reviews. If everything goes smoothly and you don't need anything besides the ticket, it might be worth it. Otherwise, book directly with the airline.
DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THIS SITE.
I am willing to pay a little more and use a different booking site than go through Vayama ever again! Save your money bc you will be ripped off! I HAVE HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I AM NEVER BOOKING THROUGH VAYAMA AGAIN. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. The lady was literally yelling at me on the phone. They are so nasty! I even emailed the CEO thought maybe he would actually help and got no where! I lost over $1k!
Very Bad website that I have ever seen in my career
I booked the flight ticket from this website because it showed me $50 less that other websites. After i booked the reservation i received a mail the next day saying the price has increased and the reservation has been cancelled. I booked the flight for $1126 and i received mail next day saying the price has raised to $1318 but still in the website the raised price it shows is $1261. If the price has raised it should show as $1318 on website as well. This is how the stole the money from customers. How can they change the price after booking. After 10 days the price has changed to $2000 will they cancel and charge the customer $2000. I also asked i need to talk to higher official regarding this she was not at all willing to forward the call. I also booked the other flights based on this reservation.
Please ever never buy a ticket from this website. Very poor customer service and they steel money after you book the ticket.
I was very hesitant to book via Vayama despite being priced around $500 cheaper then all other sites since i saw mostly negative reviews...
Upon completing the booking I received a booking request number. Half hour later the actual booking number arrived. I quickly verified it with the airline and all looks good.
