Ordered a
Textbook for my Daughter, took 20 days to arrive... 20 days!
Valore uses media mail PLUS a third party vendor to deliver the book...?
Plus the $120 book was not shipped in a box... but wrapped in paper!
Valore is a joke!
Amazon delivered the book in one day!
In a box!
Valore sucks.
Should have completely looked up reviews before going with this website no wonder why it was on the last pages through Google in order to find this page it has the worst reviews and it's backed up completely by what my experience was. I recently rented a book through Valore for business and it did not come with the code which I understand some of them do not so I went ahead and called Valore and they had told me to press the refund button under my specific book and all it did was ask me to print out a page to stick inside of the box with the book given. I then asked if I had to pay out-of-pocket in order to ship it out and she told me I did so I created a tracking number after I send it out through UPS and a week later (which is today) I called to see where the book was I have been emailing back-and-forth and had been getting nowhere with this horrible "customer service". They keep continuing to tell me that I am the one that's at fault and I didn't print out the correct page in order to send it back which is funny because Valore had specifically walked me through the process in order to tell me how to return the book and now they're telling me the tracking number isn't even a number that is underneath the book and telling me that I will have to spend the money to pay back for the book that's funny not going to happen this is been the worst experience I've ever had with renting books and I have had the worst displeasure of talking to these people. They have not helped one bit and I'm so sorry for myself for not checking into the reviews before going with this horrible website.
This company is messed up! I sold a book in good condition to them however, when they received it I was told it had sever water damage. When I shipped out the book at Fed Ex it was in good condition so I filed a claim with Fed Ex. I then get an email from Valore books that I might want the book back as it only has slight water damage? So first it is severe and then it is slight? Fed Ex denied the claim as they advise that there was no external damage therefore they are not responsible. Valore books advise that they are not reliable either. HMMM It is Magic folks that a book shipped out of Nevada in good condition can turn up with water damage. Both companies pass the buck and will not except responsibility. Valore books now tells me that it will take 45 days to receive my book back? HUH? Why 45 days? LAME! I will not use either company again!
This is the WORST textbook site I've ever used. I sent my book back to them (sellback) and they sent me an email saying that they received the book and in UP TO 7 days I would be paid for the book. A MONTH AND A HALF later, and after SEVERAL phone calls, and a threat of legal action they finally emailed me back that they would not pay me for the book because it was "water damaged" which is completely false. I will never use this site again and do not recommend it to anyone unless you want to be cheated, lied to, and conned. They are nothing but thieves.
Terrible terrible! I sent 4 like new books for sell back a month ago, and have not received payment and each time I call they say they are behind cause of the holiday. Never again
"DO NOT RENT FROM VALORE! My daughter rented 2 books form them. The first never came and she had to reorder well into the semester. The second we wanted to renew for another semester (extending the rental for a full semester would have cost twice as much as the book -- but if we returned it and re-rented it would have been $35 -- why should we have to incur shipping fees? They should have the option to renew a rental for another semester). We emailed the renter repeatedly to try and do this but they never responded so finally we emailed Valore. No response. Finally I found their phone number online and called and they took a message and finally emailed back but it took them about 5 emails to understand the issue (not the sharpest tools in the shed) and were completely unable tohelp. They have charged us $20 to extend the rental because NO ONE WAS ABLE TO HELP US. We will never rent from them again!"
3 days expedited shipping works. After reading the other reviews, I bought a brand new paper back edition for less than $30. The rental price on Amazon was $50+ and the purchase was $125+. I'm just going to keep it for less than the rental price of the hard cover. Top corner had small creases from shipping, but that's ok.
Sold a book back in October which was not accepted. Requested the book back the same day-its now the end of December and I still don't have it back...
I ordered Schaum's Outline of Spanish Grammar 6E in July 23,2014 for a rental fee of $14.95. Valore charged my card, but I didn't receive the book or a refund. I continue to get "reminders" to return the Schaum's text book. I've sent them numerous emails to tell them I didn't receive the book.
Their responses to me affirm I don't have the book:

Then... one month later I get another email asking me to return the ($)(# book! So aggravating!
Don't sell anything using this company. It is a scam. They will offer you money for your books to hook you up to later only accept a couple of them. Good luck with getting your books back. I have 2 orders ******* and ******* in that situation from september and until this date I have yet seen either my books returned or the money for both transactions. Shame on you valorebooks.com"
I just received an email today from Valor Books stating The item listed below does not meet our sellback standards and has not been accepted for sellback. Claiming that the book I sent them has "Notes: Binding Damaged" This is a complete farce. I purchased this book new and take care of my books. I also took pictures of the books that I sold to ValorBooks as well as Chegg.com. To top it off, one of the books I am renting from them has a binding so bad that the book is literally in two pieces being held together by the paper cover. Very shady business practice. I uploaded pics of the book they rented to me.
Took 22 days to get the book which was to long and I ended up having to buy it at the campus book store. Returned the next day, they said the 30 days were up and they could not refund me. They also go by BooksforMeds.com.
Wish I would have searched the reviews first. Lesson learned.
I am extremely disappointed with ValoreBooks. I mailed in a textbook that was literally only used for a 3-day class. It was like new! I even included the un-used audio discs as a bonus! I received a notification that they were rejecting the book and that I would receive it back within 45 days. They received the the book back in March and I am STILL waiting for it to be returned. I would not recommend doing business with this vendor. I wish I had just sold the book myself on eBay!
Rented 5 textbooks for my son. I personally returned them all in good condition. 3 out of the 5 books were "rejected" for being damaged. They were not. They automatically deducted full price of textbook from card I used to rent them. Took 5 weeks to get my money back for all 3. Had to threaten them with a lawyer! Sad sad company! Screwing our poor college kids after the government already screws them with 12% interest rate on school loans. Shame on them!
ValoreBooks has, hands down, the best textbook sellback prices around. Perhaps they can afford to be so generous by ripping off folks like me who send them books and 4.5 months later are still waiting for payment. I have contacted them on multiple occasions and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they are still giving me the run around. DO NOT USE VALORE BOOKS. I will sell a book for far less money rather than deal with ValoreBooks again.
Stay away from this place! This company is a scam. I followed all directions and properly mailed my books to their return address and patiently waited for 14 days. I get an email from the company stating that they will not pay me for my book because of "damage", and they will not return the book to me either. This book was in good condition when I mailed it out, with no rips, writing, highlighting, or pages missing. It seems to me that this place just rips people off and takes their books with no intention of actually paying for the property. I will never purchase a book from this company or ever sell a book to them again. Stay Away so you don't get ripped off!
As a veteran, I recently used my educational benefits, too return to school to pursue a business degree. Not wanting to pay the full purchase price for the book I decided to rent the book from Valore for about $45.00 for the semester. When I received the book in the mail, it wasn't in the greatest condition. However I didn't complain because it was used. I returned the book on time as agreed. Recently I checked my bank statement and had discovered that Valore had debited my Visa for $218.00, the full price of the book. I also received an email from Valore, stating that the book was rejected and left at the dock. I am very disappointed in this company, and will pursue compensation.
Sold my books back and they were accepted but it has been a month and I still have not received payment. Remains to be seen if I ever will. Don't get sucked in by this business.
Worst company ever! Ordered from them on a Tuesday via Expedited Shipping (3-4 Days) and it's now Wednesday of the following week and I still haven't seen my books! So not only did I get robbed with extra shipping charges, I also missed my first three assignments for the semester! I've called countless times to speak with a rep and all they tell me to do is contact their Rental Marketplace via email because they can't help me! I work in Hospitality so I know when someone is giving me the run-around! Don't spend your money on this deceitful company!
I sent them my books on May 15,2014, I have not received any payments from them. In addition, there is no contact information, to call them. I hate this poor customer service, and the waiting for payment is a pain. Not dealing with this company ever again. Over with I am done, no more dealing.
Answer: DONT DO IT! This place is shady with business. They may or may not send you the products or even your money. It seems like a great website with great reviews, but dont be fooled
