I booked a house for 13 nights. Towards the end of the second week for some reason, Vacasa said that we have to leave the house. They made up a bunch of reasons. Every representative I spoke to told me something else. One representative even told us that we can stay, so we went on a trip. In the middle of the trip, I got an email saying that if we don't leave shortly then the authorities will come down and evict us! Vacasa is not recommended and they are mismanaged and they will charge you extra fees and back out of the contract. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! They are pure scammers!
This is a shady business. They cancelled my family's vacation home rental shortly before we were to leave. They cited an "emergency" but would not tell me what that was. I then did some research and noticed many other Internet reviews in which Vacasa had cancelled people's bookings, sometimes while the customers were traveling to their vacation destination! My guess is that they overbook rentals, and then rent the property to whoever agreed to pay the highest amount. They did offer to lease me alternative properties for which they were the agent, but none were anywhere near the quality of what we had booked and paid for. They also refunded the total amount I paid, but I had to scramble and spend a lot of time to find a new vacation rental that worked for us. If you want a reliable and trustworthy company for your vacation, do not rent a property where Vacasa is the listing agent.
Fiz uma compra no site da Seint e foi entregue no Mailbox do Condomínio onde aluguei minha casa e tentamos por mais de 5 dias e ninguém foi capaz de abrir para eu pegar minha compra
Signed up for a room at Aspen Mountain Lodge with Vacasa. Paid top dollar with room advertised on first floor. It was in a dingy basement next to the breakfast microwave and morning breakfast noise. Spent two hours on phone with Vacasa and Operations Supervisor was supposed to contact me within the hour. Never did call me; I guess he was to busy partying. I went through Booking.com and I suspect they give the worst rooms to any outside service. Avoid this Company at all costs!
I rented a tiny townhome in Deep Creek and when we arrived the Door code didn't work. It took hours to resolve. When I rent on Airbnb I don't really want another agency charging all their fees. The point of Airbnb to to rent directly from an owner not have a middleman collecting fees for everything, booking fees, etc etc etc. looking now to rent and only vacasa managed places come up. A $400 rental has $300 in fees. I am not staying at a vacasa place. Doesn't Airbnb get a cut too. How many middlemen can we add to a transaction and call it simple. Technology is adding more costs and more hassle.
I have stayed at 3 Vacasa rentals within the past 2 months and as appealing as the homes are the level of clean is disheartening even though we are charged expensive cleaning fees. I have left 2 honest reviews of which were under 5 stars and they were not posted. I contacted the company to complain about a dangerous situation upon check out in the 2nd rental and I was promised a call from a "local operations manager" that never happened. When I inquired of it to them via email they responded, "it looks like this case has already been address." I wrote back that it was not as my heart dropped thinking they ignored what happened. Terrible and very disappointing.
https://www.vacasa.com/unit/******* (Dangerous situation upon checking out with "Vacasa worker" walking into rental along with areas of the unit being filthy. It's a pity because unit was nice.
https://www.vacasa.com/unit/******* (most recent, ant infestation in kitchen, bedrooms, bath, etc., dusty, and dishes in dishwasher. Paid over $1k. It's a pity because unit was nice.
We booked a condo in July 22. We were so excited! It was ocean front 1st floor, practically on the dune! About 1.5 months before we were supposed to leave they canceled it on us. They're substitute was nothing like what we originally picked out so I told them that. They found something better but just ok. Whatever. I guess at least we're still going. Nope! About a week before we leave, that one is unavailable! I was livid! We ended up taking a 7th floor condo with a side view of the ocean. I would've chosen a completely different beach if that's all that was available there but it was too late to change the rest of our vacation details so we sucked it up. I'll never take the chance of a ruined vacation with them again!
We stayed in room 2106 at Golden Sands. It all depends on what room you get. High point of staying at the Golden sands is the Cabana bar and outside pool. The rooms though all are spacious but need really updated. We stayed in a room this year that had outlets that did not work, no vacuum or broom, and even a blood stain on the pillow. It is really hit or miss.
We rented 4 months in advance a on the beach house in Gulf Shores- Alabama. It was our first vacation as a family- since I was a kid so 25 years or more. 2 days before 12 of us left- they canceled saying therie was safety concerns. The duplex they put us in in Fort Morgan was 25 minutes from our original destination- disgusting- bugs everywhere-- the ac didn't work in one of the duplexes- they were cleaning it when we arrived- food left in the fridge and 300 dollars in price difference. After making a complaint they did move us to a condo that was nice - but I hadn't game planned for staying on the 17th floor and carrying everything around. I was really lokking forward to having a house- not a fancy motel room. What vacasa doesn't know is we drove by the first original Beach house and there was people in it. Wth like why- why us. I will admit they did refund the difference of the cost of the rentals- but they could have went a little further on the customer service side maybe bought dinner one night or paid for an outing- or anything. The vacation was relaxing but not what I had imagined for 4 months- I will not ever- ever EVER use them again and would never- NEVER EVER recommend.
We arrived to check in and they were still cleaning the unit. Key details about rental (eg that it requires a 40 stair climb) were missing from the listing as well as things that were not true ( eg stated there was private beach access and there wasn't). Called to see when we would be permitted entrance to the unit we rented and the agent hung up.
This place was over the place I booked for my special needs daughters 13th birthday. They do not care about there customers and scam you out of your money. The place I booked was not what we got when we arrive. The doors on the unit didn't lock and they didn't car that I had 4 small children and their safety was my biggest concern. It was roach infested 2 roaches climbed in the shower with my brother in law and a we laid my 1 year old nephew down to go back and find a roach laying in the bed beside him. They places looked like it hadn't been throughly cleaned in years. Behind the dresser in one of the rooms was a dirty used condom and nasty bandages the covers had stains all over them. It was the worse weekend ever something that was suppose to be memorable was a disaster and I stayed on the phone with vacasa reps all weekend and they did absolutely nothing but say when there is a update we will reach back out I'm beyond pissed. Also there were pills all
Over the floor be careful these people don't care about there customers
They do not even know their own phone number. I keep getting someone else not connected with them.
I would search for a better place. All I hear are complaints.
Checked into rental to find that no cleaning person had come in between renters. The house looks as though it hasn't been cleaned in a year. Trash in garbage can, the floors are filthy, kitchen is gross everything is sticky. Stains on couches, pillows, blood stains on bedding, brown stains on mattress bedding. This is just downright unsanitary. Vacasa is useless, no one answers the phone or responds to messages. Do yourself a favor and never EVER rent from them. Airbnb is the way to go, they have actual 24/7 service and stand by their standards. This is the worst vacation house I've ever been in, absolutely appalling and cannot wait to leave.
A house in York Beach, house is actually beautiful the couch you can't sit on and two of the mattresses out of the four bedrooms you can't sleep on I'm sleeping on an air mattress and we are sitting on the floor because you can't sit on the couch. Vacasa sent a representative here which he agreed relayed the message back to his boss and after she had told me they were honoring a $1500 credit as the daily rental with fees is $2000 a day the GM DIDNT HONOR. BUYER BE WARE. The owners honored $1000. That is why Vacasa has a total 1 star in 505 reviews
Never got to stay at the place they advertised but they surely did take my money and 3 days later I had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances they would only give me 50% back. Really they still had 30 days at the time to refill the room I only held it up for 3 days. What they do is steal your money -- STAY AWAY
We were set for our trip to Virginia that we booked and paid for one year ago. We are due t leave in less than 48 hours and I get a text message saying sorry but your rental won't be ready until Sunday because we are short on housekeeping staff. However the good news is we won't charge you for Saturday night (I mean is that supposed to be a gift to not pay for a night we won't be there?!) and we also get a $250 gift card to book a future trip through them. Obviously that will never happen. We have family flying in from several places around the US and we literally have no where to go once we reach the airport. The customer service reps are so obviously reading from a patronizing script and offer no solutions. It's a shame they took over for Sandbridge Realty who we had booked through for years and always had stress free vacations. Vacasa is only interested in collecting your money. Do not book any property if they are the booking company. You will regret it like my family and I do right now as we all scramble to find hotels with no notice.
Well I sure do wish I'd found these reviews before booking through Airbnb. To mirror what literally hundreds of other people have said, AVOID THIS COMPANY. DO NOT BOOK. RUN.
I have proof that the house we rented through Airbnb was incorrectly listed as allowing two dogs. After booking I received a message that only 1 is allowed. I immediately followed up to confirm; didn't get a response for SIX MONTHS. They won't allow a second dog, and they won't refund me the full amount despite the fact that I made the payment under completely false pretenses. This is insanity. Truly, this company is HORRIBLE
We checked in to 16 Robert's Way Oak Bluffs Mass on Sunday August 7th. Pulled up to what appeared to be an abandoned property. Weeds meet you at the front door. Very embarrassing to leave a beautiful home in Pennsylvania to come here. I have been calling since Sunday. No lawn service yet. Don't Stay Here. Paid almost 5,000.00 a rip of!
I would definitely rent from Vacasa again. We rented this home for a mini family reunion (family members from NC, GA and OH) and it was perfect for us. There was plenty of room for all of us to sleep. The living room had plenty of seating room as well. The kitchen was great for cooking for a crowd - especially the 6 burner stove. The Vacasa app is very good and text and email communication from Vacasa was timely and all needed information was provided.
Answer: It's a monster scam. Avoid at all costs. I've rented several properties that ended up going through Vacasa - despite my best efforts to avoid them. You can't find out that it's Vacasa until after they have your money. It's a criminal enterprise.
Answer: In my experience, construction is their "catch all" excuse for canceling. Follow up to verify that it was rented, but for higher fee.
Answer: I am not sure but for the renter (not the owners) the fees may be charged without full disclosure.
Answer: Bad bad bad worst service I ever got at a short term rental
