Don't even go to this website. They are straight crooks
I made the mistake of signing up for the free trial. It immediately said I had used my free limit and wanted money. I canceled the service and then they tried to rob my credit card for their fee. Fortunately for me it was at the time the card is changed out and it did not go through, now they have resorted to sending threatening emails. I suggest they come right on over here to the USA South and we will introduce them to our southern jails.
You think you take a trial but suddenly they get 85,00euro from your Paypal account! Not possible to cancel! Paypal is happy to practice them! Paypal love to help scammers for money! #thankspaypal shame on you!
I made the mistake of creating an account with usenet.nl, but fortunately gave them details of a debit card which I use only on demand, that is, when I need to buy something, I put money on it and then use it. So these fraudulent guys didn't have a chance to rob me, but they did try very hard. After I registered with free trial and realised there was nothing valuable for me on their website, I tried to cancel the subscription, but guess what? You have to call them to cancel it! That is, you have to call them from wherever in the world you happen to be, spend your money and talk to their employees who will try to persuade you into staying with them spending your own money! Well, I just waited till they blocked my account because of not being able to rob me and hope they will forget about me in the nearest future. I won't forget about them, of course, and will try to make my experience public so that other people don't get in the tramp.
They will steal $99 from you without permission or warning. This is not in accordance with their terms. I am filing a complaint with PayPal.
Do not do business with these European frauds.

How these guys are still in this fraudulent business for years? Their service is a huge crap. I wonder if somebody really uses this for something useful. Thankfully, I used a paypal account to subscribe and was able to cancel it during trial period, both through paypal and their contact form.
Hi guys, from now on i call myself N. Almost got scammed by usenet.nl. They wanted 104,41 EUR from me. Fortunately my bank doesn't let them take it off my bank account. I am super worried what will happen if i never pay them. I want to delete my account but as i can see you first need to pay them and then your account will be deleted or they say they do it but they don't do it. Can anyone please answer my question: what will happen if i will never pay? They have my adress but i quickly changed it.
Saved from debit card scammers
I saw my incomplete book on their website. They were offering it for free. I was curious because they got all my information including the ISBN number. To prove it was my book I was tempted to put my credit card details to check it as the website were asking for credit card details before you could see any of their books. Until I read your reviews, I realized they had deceived many people. I am so pleased that I happened to see these reviews before time.
Thank you
Whatever you do, don't sign up for a trial. I had the same experience that the other reviewers had... files I saw listed as available, were not. I was searching for discontinued and out of print items and they were only listed with usenet. When I did the trial, none were actually available for download. I realize that usenet is a service and doesn't actually have the files, but when they put those items in their "you can download this" web page, that is deceptive. The other problem is the trial followed by automatic payment from your account. If you forget about this trial, as I did, they won't refund your money. They also never send reminders, because (I assume) they are hoping that we WILL forget and they can charge us. They simultaneously sent an invoice and charged me. If the invoice had been sent the day before, I could have cancelled at that time. I believe that everything this company does is calculated to maximize the chances that they can charge our accounts. I tried calling yesterday (sept 6) but they were offline. The contact form got me "we are too busy to respond" message. I called today to cancel and was rushed off the phone so fast that I had to call again to ask about a refund. They aren't particularly interested in the good will of their customers, which does place them in the company of scammers. Every customer they sign up is just a payday. They don't care if you like their service or not... it is irrelevant. They just want the money. Stay far away from this website.
It is a scam website, trying to rip u off your money. I was fortunate enough to realise this on time and block them from my bank and paypal. They have charged me 116 pounds. I am not willing and in no instance be ready to pay this amount to Usenet. First of all they claim to have the book that people are searching online while in reality, nothing can be downloaded from their website. Second there is an easy way to give your bank details and subscribe to the website while there is no way to withdraw your membership. They were supposed to offer a period of free membership which I first subscribed and thought to continue my subscription based on their services however, after realising that the book I was looking is not in their website and cannot be downloaded, I decided to withdraw my membership, But I found no way to unsubscribe from their system and I filled and sent the form available on their website suggesting I am no longer interested to continue my membership after the free trail period for which I received no response. I also tried to ring the number available on their website, but again I could not reach them. Usenet is a scam company, targeting students who look for books online. After receiving their payment details they become invisible and the only thing they are concerned with is to charge people and take their money in return for no services. They promise that the books are available for download so provide your payment details and subscribe to our membership once you do that there is no book available for download from their page. It is one of those companies that tricks people and rip them off their money.
These guys are scam artists. They will harass an blackmail you if you don't cancel your trial membership on time. Be careful an learn how to block emails, return to sender on trash that comes to your billing address. They won't be getting a dime outta me.
I am getting a bill for usenet that I have never used or signed up for. USENET out of Domagnano, san marino. They are asking me to send money... FRAUD Watch out for this and this company. Look up usenet and fraud.
I signed up as they specifically stated they had something I was after. However nothing that I looked for existed. They are simply a newsgroup retention site, and not even as good as some of the others out there. I cancelled within days. So... spam, scam, false advertisng, and if reading the other reviews are correct, poor customer service and aggressive tatics too.
I panicked when reading these reviews. However, I messaged them using the online form, also emailed them at *******@usenet.nl and called the UK number from their site (available in the contact hotline page). I wanted to cover all the possibilities. After the phone call my account was cancelled. Also received an email response to my cancellation request stating it had already been done. So no issues with cancellation. I did cancel well within the free trial period and not afterwards.
That being said, the service I believe gives false results on a Google search. I was searching for a specific book which usenet.nl said they had so signed up. The book was nowhere to be found, hence the cancellation.
There are better usenet services by far.
I tried to cancel way before the subscription was up and they wouldn't answer their service line. Now they are charging me $100 for no reason. Absolutely ridiculous and a truly horrible way to do business.
This company is absolute trash. I called and cancelled before the 14 day trial ended and they are claiming I did not. They took 99.00 out and refuse to refund it. Their call system takes 20 minutes to get an answer, at least, which is probably on purpose so people can't cancel. SCAM COMPANY DO NOT SIGN UP.
I signed up for a free trial and was disappointed in their service. I decided to cancel within ten minutes of signing up. I googled the company and was rather worried from all the complaints that cancellations were more or less impossible. I was also rather scared when I pushed the "cancel account" button on their website and a box popped up telling me I had to call their toll-free hotline during business hours to cancel the account (they were closed). I read the contract and it states that during the free trial period cancellation requests can also be submitted via email or mail gives a sample cancellation request. I submitted the sample cancellation request via email and received an email confirmation that my account was cancelled the following morning... I'll post if I have any trouble down the road, but so far I can't complain.
Their email address is *******@usenet.nl. Just send them a message of cancellation with your account number. Should take care of it.
I had a trial a few months ago that was canceled. And I keep getting things in the mail saying I owe them 165,00 EUR. And now they are saying if I don't send payment by 13.06.2016 they will initiate further steps without any reminder. It's nothing I am worried about at all
usenet.nl advertises the availability of resources that it turns out are not available. But you don't know that until you have signed up. So they promise a free 14-day trial, to convince people that it is worth investigating further.
Just one look reveals that there are few if any worthwhile resources to download and virtually nobody would ever willingly pay for membership. So usenet.nl have to make their money by ensuring a substantial fee becomes payable by every person who applies for the 14-day "free trial".
Some people have reported not realising that they were signing up to anything other than a free trial. That is because the advertised offer is designed to mislead. Other people have reported how difficult it is to cancel. Deliberately difficult, one assumes.
And usenet.nl knows that cautious people will choose not to enter their credit card or paypal details. So they scam those cautious people by instructing a debt collection agency to harass for payment of an invoice that has never been issued, in respect of services that were never used, knowing that the threat of imminent legal action (with ever increasing "legal costs") will eventually wear down even the most resilient law-abiding citizen.

Answer: I've been getting them for nearly a year now. Nothing has happend beyond getting letters
Answer: I subscribed to a 14 day trial and like many quickly was faced with the difficulty of unsubscribing and locked into a 1 year plan. They will hunt you down and make you pay with a debt collector, so the only viable push back is legal support. If this has happened to you, report it to econsumer.gov and your local authorities, the more of us who report it, the more likely they will be investigated and face criminal charges.
Answer: They took money from me too but Paypal reversed it! They continued to send me me letters each time upping the amount. I have just this minute spoken to a Paypal adviser. Who said.`Don`t worry theres nothing they can do. Paypal have jurisdiction over them. If Paypal decides they are fraudulant theres nothing they can do! If they continue to harass you got to the police and ask for a harassment form... ignore them don`t pay ANYTHING TO THEM!
Answer: I haven't paid and I won't, if you ignore it as I am, then, if they want to peruse the matter they would have to get a court order to send in the bailiffs. I highly doubt they would attempt this, as shady companies, a, do t want to raise attention to their dubious practices and b) they wouldn't win anyway, as I've never even used this services what evidence could they present? It's worth noting that such threating letters could easily be deemed as harassment and you have every right to contact the police and press criminal charges!
Answer: Yes you can. With my experience working with them it's either going to be far easier or the only way to go through PayPal versus going to them directly
