Bad all around bank
August 11, 2022

Their Customer service is an absolute Joke and nobody knows what's going on. I've had an account here my entire life and one day got a call asking me to call someone back in e fraud which I did immediately and he didn't answer. After leaving multiple messages over the course of a week and him never returning my calls I then began a loop of continually getting transferred around and being told something different at every step. I finally asked to close my account and they froze my cards to do so. They then took TWO WEEKS to officially put in the request and from there had to wait 15 business days to get my money that was in the account. I still had a credit card with them and when I tried to pay it they told me I needed an account open with them…

I don't feel safe at all leaving my money in the bank with US. I called and inquired about taking a large amount out to do my roof and they wouldn't let me increase my limit and when I tried to ask about using a HELOC, they hung up on me. Very rude support, I understand that probably not every customer service agent is like that but as a first impression and first time calling them. It did not make me thing my money was safe with them.

I'll be paying cash for all my loans and leaving US Bank because of this bad customer service experience. You don't get this with Credit Unions. It's sad because i had such a great experience with my local branch but their customer service is subpar and some of the techs need better customer service training. I just waited on hold for 15-minutes and then had to call back because they hung up on me.

It's disappointing that they have such limits on spending your own money that you work hard for. It's a joke and US Bank lost a large account. Would not recommend.

Watch your account
August 10, 2022

I recently had a curveball thrown at me and had no choice but to overdraft my account. I had 4 overdraft charges on my account but I only made 2 transactions. The customer service lady was very rude. I tried explaining that 4 charges was impossible for 2 transactions and she interrupted me and screamed it's 4! And I said great customer service, thank you and very happily she said your welcome! I'm closing my account.

Was denied a US Bank business credit card with a 768 credit rating. The hard credit inquiry dropped my score 20 points immediately (received a crazy number of alerts from my other banks). The finished application didn't show any information, never received an email that it was received, called their phone number and they couldn't give me any information. A month later I received a denial letter. Applied for a Chase business Credit Card a week later after the denial. Was approved within 3 days for 25k with my credit score now being 748. Why even offer a credit card if you don't want new clients? Why spend the money for a marketing campaign and infrastructure? I will never bank with US Bank. My company gross is 400k+ in its first 6 months - chump change to them but obviously US Bank is not small business friendly.

I had some issues with my "personal" bank account (non-U. S Bank) so my boss gave me the option to opt out of direct deposit and get a payroll card with U. S Bank since its a temporary job. It's now been four weeks with no card and no money. I called customer service last week and they could not find my information. I was extremely stressed thinking I lost over $2,000 of my salary. They eventually found my information and said the card was on its way and would arrive later that week. I gave it till Monday morning of the following week and the card did not arrive. I called back Monday afternoon and they informed me the card would be here Wednesday. Today is Wednesday, no card. I call again at 5pm, they said due to large call amount to leave my phone number and they would get back to me before 9pm. 9pm passes, I call back. Waited 1 hour on hold until finally a lady picks up. After I give her my information she hangs up immediately without assisting me in any way shape or form. I waited to see if she would call me back and she didn't, I call back waited about 30ish minutes, they could not find my information AGAIN. Not with my phone number either I had to give them my social security. It felt like I was being scammed, so unprofessional, and irresponsible. I even explained how the lady hung up on me and didn't even get a response, no apology, no acknowledgement at all. Anyways, was informed the card should arrive next week and I can not cancel it because it is on its way. 4 weeks of work with no pay. I need MY money. Not only do they not have a way for me to access my funds in the meantime but they also have no compassion.

99 percent of the times I have to transfer money to pay they won't let me. They want to keep my money for them! They want me to starve to death! They want me to not be able to pay my mortgage! They want all my pets to die! Very very very sadly I moved money payment to auto payment. So going to another bank isn't impossible but it's not very easy to do because of all the auto payment!

I do $25,000 in credit card charges every month. I use there rewards program almost every 6 weeks.
I signed up for a digital Reward card and have tried for the last 3 days to get the information off my computer to use the card. It wouldn't let me, I talked to 2 representatives two days ago. They were not able to help me, and told me that is was US Bank's problem and to try again in 3 days. I talked to someone today and they started to help me and then they couldn't, they put me on hold for over 30 minutes without any communications. I only have a fews days left to collect my digital rewards card. Poor, poor customer service. I hope someone will call me and fix my problem. Mark Dunkley President of Dunkley Music Inc.

Charging me for a fee because a bank that I closed an account with about a week and a half before payment was due tries to send a payment? What the hell? Of course the bank is closed and it is not my fault and my payment was made with my new bank on time! U.S. Bank was like, it's my fault that the bank tried to send a payment that wasn't valid? Customer service suck and they suck! The End!

Worthless customer service
July 20, 2022

I have a balance transfer account with US Bank. Last month I again sent in an extra $1000 payment. They double entered the $1000 by mistake and then reversed it and charged me $41. I called and straightened that out and told them I didn't want the minimum payment of about $131 deducted as I was sending them $1000 each month. They said ok. Today I saw that they again deducted the $131 from my account then reversed it (because I stopped automatic minimum payment deductions) and then charged me $41 in reversal fees. I called customer a service agent and she screamed at me when she was confused as to what happened and I was trying to explain it. Finally she reversed the $41. US Bank automatic banking computer program is very poorly written and customer service is terrible. NEVER AGAIN will I deal with U S Bank.

Left stranded
July 14, 2022

My US Bank Card was declined as I was trying to get gas. Knowing my credit was good I could only assume that there had been fraudulent activity concerning my account. So at the station I called the number on the card that I might find out what the problem was. I was told there would be a 30 minute waiting time. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE! Other companies give immediate service and now I am not able to purchase gas to continue my trip for 30 minutes or more. This bank has no concern for their customers. Even my later communication through their website went unanswered.

O start closing my accounts with them. If you have a credit score of 580 they will not help you. If you need small loans you can pay back they don't care they won't help you. I'm done with backs that back talk their customers and treat them like trash. This bank did exactly that today. I will be looking for a new bank.

I had a few cards with this bank. Very difficult to navigate to each one. When I closed out a couple of them I was told I would need to resign up for the auto withdrawl. That did not come thru until after the due date and they increased my apr to 29.99 percent because they said it was a late payment. Several years with this bank. Customer service told me I could pay off the balance and close the account any time if I am not happy. Which I am doing. I would never reccommend anyone to this bank.

Called for a simple request, the Banker was actively assisting me and we were disconnected. Called back 2 more times, no one assisted me; first time due to lack of listening skills; and the 2nd person was away from their phone. Can't wait until my vehicle lease ends, I'll be working with my personal bank next time

US Bank offers the absolute worst banking experience I have ever experienced or witnessed. My husband and I have been stranded without money in foreign countries because of locked cards despite informing them of detailed travel plans, and it is near impossible to talk to a customer to get a card lock lifted. It's even been locked when trying to get cash at ATMs within our home state. Absolutely TERRIBLE. They also admitted to me that they purposefully order checks coming through a checking account by largest first, and they do not process deposits until the next day if deposited after 1pm, so even if you deposit money to cover checks going through the same day, the biggest one might bounce, meaning that check and every one after will incur a horrendous fee. Scam artists. They should be jailed.

Worst bank ever
July 1, 2022

I have never in all of my life hated a bank more than US Bank! By far the worst experience I've ever had with a bank and wouldn't wish this hell on anyone. It should allow for zero stars it doesn't even deserve that. Absolutely no help, unfair charges, and extremely irresponsible with people's money for it to be considered a bank. Do not I mean absolutely do NOT bank with US bank you WILL regret it. Horrible just horrible company

Then it's another wait to get anyone & they do bare minimum to help! I hate this card provider & hate my issuer uses it.

No wonder US Bank has such incompetent employees, useless online banking programmers, fouled ATM'S, and so on and so on. Good grief! They can't even close an account, issue a new one, send checks, Debit Card, Credit Card, etc.etc. Get out asap!

The worst scam bank
June 23, 2022

The biggest joke in banking. I had reported a fraudulent transaction on my account on 06/21, after which I was told that they would be closing my current account and making a new one for me in 24 hours and also I would be reimbursed with the money that was stolen. After waiting 24 hours I called the department again and the lady said the previous agent did not know what she was doing and I am going to file a new account for you. After waiting another 18 hours I called the bank just to know that my request was not processed and they will be sending me a cheque with my remaining balance (which will get to me after 15 business days) and closing my account just so they would not have to pay what was rightfully mine and the bank could not take action on time.

Please avoid this scam.
