I've been trying for over a year to get my distribution from a CD and there is nothing but 7-11 teller machines in my area I would have to make an appointment and drive over 120 mile to see a banker in person. I've been through multiple rounds of phone tag where they end up sending more forms and never does my check arrive., just more forms and phony excuses. I would not recommend this bank to my worst enemy!
When I opened my account with US Bank, I was never told that my money would be held from me if I made a cash deposit and their ATM machine and their ATM machine had an error.
Fast forward to August 30,2023 7:50 PM. I put cash into the Yuba City ATM machine and it gladly took my money. And then spit out a receipt telling me that it was going to keep my money and not credit my account that their machine was having an error. The following day I called the 800 number and told the person who took the report at that time they told me it would take probably 1 to 3 business days. They gave me a claim number as well. Fast forward to today, September 8,2023. I have still not received my credit for my cash deposit that I put into their machine and I have been told that it could take up to 90 days. That was not what I was originally told, and I find it very odd that they have not balanced their ATM machine, nor have they filled their ATM machine with more money or checked, and found my money inside of it, and gave me my credit that is due to me. I have called every single day and have gotten absolutely nowhere with these people because they don't care. I have not gotten a letter or an email to ease my mind letting me know that something is being done. Nothing has been done it is like crickets chirping. I cannot understand how it could take so long to get someone to balance that ATM and give me my money back. Trust and believe I am closing this account the minute my money is released to my account. This is the worst Bank ever do not go to US Bank. They do not care about their customers at all.
Last I checked this is fifth largest bank in USA.
Out of no where, they decide to force everybody to Mastercard.
Now, go change all your Auto Pay merchants to the new card number.
Screw that, why force the bank customer to do all that crap.
Overall U S Bank has been OK, & I have never lost money in various transactions. Plusthey seem ethical compared to the other big banks.
The US bank bill payment feature is not working for me. It tells me "Oops Sorry, our system is not coorporating right now. Please try again" have been trying for a week and with multiple calls to US bank an unsuccessful with paying bills. Seems like UsS bank customer support agents are way undertrained to help support their customers with their specific needs.
Us bank closes your account without your consent or permission. They sneak fees as well. They treat account holders of 15 plus years like garbage. I will be sure to tell absolutely everyone I know and strangers never ever to use this financial institution ever. Only gave a star because I am required to if I could I would give them negative stars.
I just opened a money market account and transferred funds from my other bank to this one. I noticed the funds are not available. When I called, they told me it will take 10 days for the funds to clear. It was an EFT. My experience with other banks is it takes about 1 day for the EFT to be completed. Now I have to wait for the EFT to be completed so I can close the account.
Another issue, after logging in on the website, it seems to be poorly designed and hard to navigate.
We had our corporate account with U.S.Bank for 10 years. Never been in an overdraft. No credit card. We always kept a positive balance of more than 100K. Letter from U.S.Bank that they were going to close our account and gave us 3 days to move. We asked for explanations why and they said because we can. End of conversation.They refuse to give a reason. Bunch of criminals.
Wish I could leave zero stars. When setting up an account they say you can use the online banking and virtual card right away until your packet comes in the mail. The don't mention you can't use online banking until you receive your account number that is in the packet. I have to wait 10 days to receive my packet to start using my business account. Who can wait 10 days to bank for a business? When you call they're very unhelpful, a bunch of "sorry" and "we're aware of the issue" but no help. Not a good start, going to close the account and go with Bank of America.
This bank doesn't even deserve zero star. I had a secured credit card for over 3 years with USBANK. I decided to close it for the bad services I had, like non sense APP services! And every time I called customer services, a long waiting time (min 30 min) and keep treanferinf from one agent to another!. I decided to close the account but it took several visit to branches cause no online possibility to do this! Finally one agent gave me a form to fill out and send by email. However, and after over one month, I realized that they where charging if late fees and interest and there was no confirmation that the account was closed. I called them, and after a long wait on the phone and transferring agents, I got to get a useless reference nb in this regard but no writing confirmation! I have been around the world and felt with many banks but I have never seen bad services like this! Keep your money under the carpet but never with US BANK! They are worthless.
The working conditions at US Bank, particularly for employees in the roles of 24HB and 24HRDBS. While I understand that no organization is perfect, I feel compelled to bring to your attention some significant issues that have been negatively impacting both employees and customers alike.
Firstly, it is disheartening to note that we are expected to work under the strain of recurring system issues on a daily basis. These technical glitches not only hamper our productivity but also create a frustrating and inefficient work environment. As employees, we strive to provide excellent service to our customers, and these constant system failures hinder our ability to do so effectively.
Additionally, there have been instances where our ATMs have taken customers' debit cards without disbursing any funds to them. This not only causes inconvenience to our valued customers but also reflects poorly on the bank as a whole. It is essential for us to prioritize the reliability and functionality of our machines to ensure a seamless experience for our customers.
Furthermore, it has come to my attention that certain staff members at US Bank have been selectively choosing which transactions to approve or leave pendingFraud department disable UID without reaching out to the Customers. Managers in the support chat really don't want to help. Online ops no help. They tell you there room for advancement however if your approved to started wealth and bank management and your added to the training schedule in IEX your manager can request to have you withdrawn from the class even though this was already approved, if you apply to other positions in the company because your trying to get out of 24 HB your manager can decide to reject your job advancement this company needs to knowledge that all employees know what there strengths and weaknesses are there if a banker tell you they want to be off the phones that tell you that's a weakness for them. Watch out cause they will fire you.
The loan process is atrocious. It feels like no one is prepared. Everyday they are asking for some type of new paper, note or verification of something. A loan process that should take 30 days has taken me almost two months and they are still asking me for verification.
In 10+years with Union Bank I never maintained check registry. Now I do. Point of sale takes 4ever never get an email indicating I just made a purchase over $50.00 as I did with Union Bank. Purchases made on Thursday morning will not post until Tuesday morning. Strongly suggest you compare banking mobile app to others before settling with US Bank. I know I am changing banks
I opened a business account from US bank because of a promo they sent with deposit requirements. I was sent the confirmation for approval of my new account and then once the promo had expired (2 days later), I was sent another email that said there were "inconsistencies" and my account was not opened. This type of behavior is a red flag. Sending out promos to get more traffic and personal information and then backing out of your promise afterwards is exactly what you DO NOT WANT TO SEE FROM YOUR BANK. I would never take a risk with banking with US bank again.
I traded a leased car on a new lease with this bank. I have paid faithfully for 36 months and never missed a payment. Now the lease is paid off and they now are charging me over $20,000 to own a car I already paid off! AND since I would have to finance that amount, they are requiring me to fill out a credit application, subject to approval, when I have been paying them all this time! I am retired on a limited income. Such a very heartless company. I do not know how these people sleep at night.
I've never met a banker who don't know customer service and don't know what to do shouldn't be empolloyee. She took our times and asked many things to do and it was around 3:20PM. Its still early and they have 4 bankers there. Don't even know why she was there,
We went to brunch cause we need a assistant to open account and to get debit card but she asked us to go thought to online and to make ph call to customer service. Then what she said was she don't wanna do today and need appointment. I could understand if she said early when we get there but she didn't say that in advance and asked many thing to do that made non sence. Really disappointed and she shouldn't be a banker and as employee.
This is one of the worst websites ever. They have a glitch or issue at least once ever 2 weeks. You can't login, you can't navigate pages. It's absurd that a bank of this size can't afford a legitimate or functional IT team.
Besides that, the bank isn't so hot either.
I applied for a checking account with a sign up bonus, on the last day of the promotion, but I was asked to submit an additional documentation. I did it on the same day, and the status of the account was pending. On the next day my account was opened. I called their phone support to verify if I qualify for the bonus, and after few transfers, this was confirmed from a technical support specialist. So I proceeded with the funding of the account, in order to meet the requirements for the bonus. But after they got my money, they started to making up stupid excuses to not pay the bonus. I called support more than 20 times already, and they are lying shamelessly. They are referring to the day account was officially opened, and keep refusing to listen the call with their technical support specialist, no matter that every time I call them, at the beginning of the call it says that it'll be recorded for quality services. This isn't a bank you want to use. This is SCAM. They were very close to go under, and that's why they were offering all those promotions, but now are using every excuse to don't pay the money. Used my money to avoid bankruptcy FOR NOW, and then they scammed me. They intentionally lied on the day the account was opened, so I can start funding it, and when they got my money, they changed their story completely. SCAM. Stay away from this bank.
I had been with Union Bank since 1995 with very few problems and since US bank took over they keep kicking back deposits for unknown reasons and sent my checks ordered to the wrong address. Is this really a bank? I can't believe the inefficiency.
I was just on the phone over an hour trying to get the deposit straightened out with no resolution...they say they don't know why it gets kicked back, my time and gas is valuable and I would not ever willingly bank with US Bank
Their website has constant problems with login. Every week practical we receive messages when trying to log in that US Bank is having issues. Maybe the bank should actually invest in IT rather than forever changing their client portal to make it look like they are delivering anything useful to their clients. No one cares about the issues, no one addresses the issues, and everything with the bank regarding IT seems to go into a black hole. We have been customers for over 15 years and all we ever see is decline not improvement with this bank. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN - as bad as Wells Fargo or Chase is, this bank is far worse for IT.
I originally obtained a zero balance transfer credit card from union bank for 18 months but when us bank absorbed them they changed it to a 12 month with zero notification. Upon having a discussion with customer service I also discovered that they also changed my application date by 2 months stating it was August when it actually was October. This caused the 12 months to really be 10 months. What a deceitful way to do business! Sadly I get the feeling this is where all businesses are headed.
Answer: U.S. Bank is NOT A SCAM! I've been banking with US Bank for over 18 years, and unlike many banks (TCF in particular... who's process may have changed by now since they got sued over it) US Bank counts your deposits first, checks or debits against your account second. If you know how to use Google, and you can find a branch by you, you will get the help you need. The statements by Joe B. Are insanely false and ridiculous. I have 2 checking accounts, 3 savings account and 2 US Bank Visa cards, I've never had an issue doing what I needed to do with regard to any of these accounts, and if I did have a question, they were easy to reach and always helpful. I am NOT currently a fan of their mobile app as they've kept updating it to a point where bill pay is messed up, but otherwise it has been most useful for transferring money and managing my balances. I've traveled the country and never had an issue getting money when I needed it, or handling my finances. And the bill pay on their website has helped me manage my monthly payments (house, utilities, loans) with ease, which was suggested by a US Bank customer service rep... which until recently, was very effective even through the mobile app. And just for the record, I've been buying groceries (and countless other things) at Walmart for 20 years... guess how I paid for it.:-) In general, over 18+ years, I can absolutely recommend US Bank. And no, I don't work there, I'm just a customer who opened an account there because it was across the street from where I worked at the time.

Customer Service is easy to contact at 1-800-US-BANKS. Or you can find a branch where you live at USBank.com. And NO, I don't work there, I'm just a customer that knows how to use Google, the internet, a keyboard... c'mon people, use the hat rack on your shoulders.
