US Bank had nothing worthwhile, IMHO, to invest in and so we moved our account. US Bank gave us a good bye kiss by charging us almost $100 to close our account. So beware of any dealing with US Bank, look to deal with banks that are concerned with the will fair of senior citizens.

I've been banking with US Bank for over 18 years, and unlike many banks (TCF in particular... who's process may have changed by now since they got sued over it) US Bank counts your deposits first, checks or debits against your account second. If you know how to use Google, and you can find a branch by you, you will get the help you need.

The statements by Joe B. Are insanely false and ridiculous. I have 2 checking accounts, 3 savings account and 2 US Bank Visa cards, I've never had an issue doing what I needed to do with regard to any of these accounts, and if I did have a question, they were easy to reach and always helpful.

I am NOT currently a fan of their mobile app as they've kept updating it to a point where bill pay is messed up, but otherwise it has been most useful for transferring money and managing my balances. I've traveled the country and never had an issue getting money when I needed it, or handling my finances. And the bill pay on their website has helped me manage my monthly payments (house, utilities, loans) with ease, which was suggested by a US Bank customer service rep.

And just for the record, I've been buying groceries (and countless other things) at Walmart for 20 years... guess how I paid for it.:-)

In general, over 18+ years, I can absolutely recommend US Bank. And no, I don't work there, I'm just a customer who opened an account there because it was across the street from where I worked at the time. I've always received the help I needed.

But to be clear, if you suck at managing money? NO BANK is going to be your savior!

So I want to deposit a $30 check and the branch is closed. I use the ATM, and it's rejected with some generic error message. Next, I go to the website to see if it can deposit this way, no option available. I call customer service and am told I need to download the mobile app first, in order for a deposit option to appear on the website. So I'm forced to use their app which I absolutely don't want on my phone, in case it gets stolen. However small the risk, I don't want it when it comes to my money.

I try to install the app. It won't take my VOIP number. I'm forced to use personal number instead. It finally works and I deposit the check, only no deposit option appears on their website. Over the course of three phone interactions, I was hung up on and lied to twice.

This bank has the worst customer service employees, which I could perhaps overlook, if I weren't being annoyed to test by their forcing things on me. The employees won't even connect to a manager, instead they just pass you around among themselves pretending to be managers.

This is not a bank! It's a criminal bracket funded by our US government and lack of rules and laws for these corrupt bank corporations, (reverse Fight Club, think about it). The whole concept of cards and banks is convenience, and they hold onto my money till I need to use it in electronic form, get rejected, told the branches don't honor a card with their logo directly on it sent from them, call customer service after multiple problems, go to a branch to withdrawal and close my account but had the police called on myself and a few other irrate customers, walked away with no rent money or any money, pulled out all my money at ATM over a few weeks. That was a two month horrible expierence. Company's like this should not be allowed to legally operate and should be held liable for their shortcomings and criminal charges and actions. People need to be held responsible not just displace blame to a faceless corporation and our government needs to be put in check too much the same since they are all cowabrating to $#*! is all in the end

Terrible service at branches, most recently at Ogden Ave location in Lisle, IL but standards are poor throughout local area. Today, 20 minutes waiting in drive-up line to get a single check cashed, which is typical. The teller was only good at offering the excuse they are "busy on Saturday." The branch manager does not even bother to show up on weekends.

The closest alternative branch on this street is in the next suburb. For over six months since the pandemic started, that facility has been closed, despite it being a new location that was just opened within the last couple of years or so.

When winter arrives, you better bring blankets and cold weather survival gear in your car when going to a US Bank branch. Otherwise if you don't want to waste gas running your engine and adding to climate change, you may freeze solid before reaching the head of the line. And for the attention that should be your due as a customer, suggest you patronize a community bank instead of corporate monoliths like US Bank. A local business is more likely to do right by you instead of cross-selling irrelevant high margin products which you likely don't need. But of course there's always time for that at US Bank.

Pathetic
September 16, 2020

This company is a joke. I started a refinance with them back in April and it had still not closed in September. Covid Covid Covid... is their sorry $#*! excuse... even though everybody in their mortgage department is working from home. They get nothing done. Don't waste your time with this bank. Put your money into a local credit union of some sort.

Look OUT
September 1, 2020

I went to my local branch and the lobby is still closed for covid ( Even though no face mask or social distancing by employees) Also the drive through was closed until 9:30 for some reason so I had to deposit my rent 1000 dollars into the ATM. It took my money and went black. I pull back through the drive though and was told we will get back to you in a few days. What? A few days? So I asked to talk to a manager and was told he was to busy. I asked for something to show I made a deposit. Nope. So I said fine I am not leaving without my money or credit or at least talk to someone. Nope they called the cops on me and I am now no trespassed from my bank. 5 STAR SERVICE AT ITS BEST. Ok Update called after a hour and a half transfer d 4 times then conveniently hung up on. 5 STAR SERVICE AGAIN. Get THIS 5 Star Service but no complaint department when you call. Let that sink in.

I am a professional in the industry myself and I trusted US Bank in the purchase of my investment property. WORST EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE! Please read this before going to US Bank. Communication was horrible, never answered their emails or phone calls, they nitpicked my accountant to death, they said they can do the loan yet kept changing their tune and was treating me like I was a lowlife. I am an industry professional with stellar credit and a substantial income. The best part is the loan processor was heard talking negatively about me on the phone (I heard this) and she also put someone elses tax return in my US Bank portal and vice versa. I asked the regional director to pull her off of my file. He said he did and then kept her on (I found out later). We were finally CTC to after 50 grueling days and 4 extension amendments to find out on our way (10 minutes away) that we were not closing with with no explanation. This was a vacation home. My children were packed and crying and lost their vacation. Thanks US Bank for leading me on. Never again. Please do not use them. This was a nightmare.

I live in Little Rock Arkansas I've been calling the customer service line all morning on the 1-800 number first the young man said he couldn't hear me my phone was on mute which was not true second and third time I was on hold for more than 26 minutes horrible the call just hangs up if I owed money I bet they contact me I am not happy at all. We are dealing with enough things right now I feel sorry for older people who can't help themselves just answering a phone call would be helpful but they not even trying to do that.

I have 2 big direct deposits going to US bank, every month. I just recently opened an account, and i did not know about the policy that they take $15 after 6 transactions from savings. They charged me $45 in ONE day for a fee! When i asked them kindly to return my money, they said no. That is WAY too expensive. I do not recommend saving your money at US bank. Especially with the COVID-19 crisis. They absolutely do not help their customers.

Why have a drive thru in Wilsonville, Oregon when you don't have staff to service? I have repeatedly waited almost 10 minutes for someone to help me while staff members do "paperwork" in full view of my car while waiting. This attitude is what is driving both individual and business customers to community banks who actually care about timely and professional service.

Turned in my vehicle on time after a lease. It took 6 weeks for the refund. No itemization and just a check that was $700 short with no explanation. Turns out us bank charges an end of lease fee of $395 s=and then charged me a lost key fee of $375. We turned in all of our keys. After a 20 minute wait i finally reached a human after having to enter my information numerous times during the hold. After about 5 seconds i was disconncted. I called back and after going through the same nonsense the signal deteriated to the point the person said they couldn't hear me and couldn't call me back and just gave me the same number to call back. After another 10-15 minutes i reach another human and was told no one was available capable of hlping me and that they would call me back. No expected time or day was to be expected. Unbelievable! You cant make it up!

Worst CS ever
February 21, 2020

I have had an account with US Bank off and on for 51 yrs. They have really gone to hell. I had 4 women mess with me because I asked for a Supervisor. US Bank messed up and I wanted to speak to someone smarter than a 5th grader. Well, long story short, I got a call from Ashley, Supervisor of US Bank in Portland, OR at 9:44pm, yes at 9:44 at night reprimanding me on my attitude and said I can no longer contact CS but I need to go to my home branch for any further issues. Then at 9:55am the following morning, I got a call from Jason, Regional Mgr. Telling me they are closing my account. I tried to access my account online to get copies of my statements but they had already blocked me before his call. So in conclusion, after over 50 yrs of service with US Bank, I can say they have become the WORST bank I have ever death and I would think twice about opening or keeping your account there. They hire idiots for CS that don't have a clue what they're doing. Which is why they mess up your account. So close your account and RUN before you become another victim.

Can't get any help
January 1, 2020

1st off I have been with US Bank since 2002 Which lead me to believe That I would be a valued customer. I have a situation where someone try to cash a check for $2500 out of my checking... account. US Bank has done nothing to get me the information of who the person was. They keep putting it off on the detective or the other bank. It has been about 6 months and now we are going into the New Year with still no info. Does it really take that long to tell me who deposited the money into the account from the cellphone. I have called them back 2 or 3 times and nothing.

Treated like a criminal
December 13, 2019

It was good the 1st week of being a new customer at us bank. Then I made a mobile deposit for $250 that was a gift from grandpa for Xmas. Received email that it was accepted. Of course I knew it would take a few days to clear.
But this is what US Bank did instead. They locked my account completely up. I couldn't log in on a pc or the app on my phone. I couldn't even call to get a balance from the automated system. I couldn't buy gas for the car that morning. After I call and find out they locked my account completely so I have no access to my funds, my money. They claim the account is new and this is to prevent fraud. So why not just hold the check? I'm not even notified that my account has been locked up and I can't even use my debt card or log in. I can't make xmas purchases that I was planning on. I could do absolutely nothing to unlock my account. Not one person actually helped they just made excuses.
I highly suggest you seek out another financial institution.
