The loss draft department is trash. The whole bank is the worst. I was in a tornado and this bank lost the insurance check, which caused a delay in the work on my home. This caused greater damage, and caused a total loss. I worked with a contractor and got it back to living condition. When it came time for the final payment they denied to complete the job stating that they needed floor plans that I did not have. So I went on line and provided them what the internet had for floor plans. They then scheduled an inspection and then canceled it stating the floor plans were not approved. They then told me to do an art project and draw my home plans. They just kept running me around because I am African American. I will be suing this bank for the last 3,000.00 that they owe me and refinancing to get rid of them. If the want to off first time home loan, don't do it go elsewhere.
Dealing with US Bank is an incredibly frustrating experience! Something as simple as redeeming credit card rewards points has turned out to take over 4 separate calls throughout two separate days - and I am still not able to redeem them! After the bank sent en email detailing my available points and describing the ways to redeem them, I eventually discovered that they are somehow experiencing system issues and cannot redeem them. So, I would question why a company wouldn't have the foresight to suppress the communication if they were aware that they couldn't fulfill their end of the process?
This is just a minor issue and doesn't really even encompass the other one that I am experience trying to establish an online account that encompasses the other US Bank credit card that I currently use. Trust me, it has been an even worse experience with just trying to open an account and/or link into my current one. That hasn't even resolved either.
So, feel free to bank here or utilize this company for your credit card needs; however, just be prepared to encounter numerous frustrations when trying to accomplish the simplest of tasks.
I waited 15 1/2 minutes before a clerk came to the phone and I told her I wanted to close my
Account due to poor customer service. She explained while understanding about poor customer
Service, she wasn't authorized to close accounts and I would have to further wait for a customer
Service specialist. I was then placed on hold for an additional 7 minutes. When the specialist
Finally came on the line, she apologized for the poor customer service and said management
Was aware of the problem and working on it. I told the specialist that management caused the
Problem to begin with by closing many branch banking locations and reducing employee staffing.
What was once a quality bank with some former unique attributes, like free checks, became a
Run of the mill poor service with a smile bank, offering few customer incentives.
I opened a checking and savings account at U.S. Bank on McHenry in Modesto, California. The teller who helped me was a pleasure to work with. She was very knowledgeable and through setting up my accounts. She made my day a pleasant day. Thank you for the terrific customer service.
I just got off the phone with US Bank, the worst ever.
I asked the Customer Service rep to transfer me to a supervisor and she hung up w/o transferring me.
Unbelievable. They are taking the bill payments out of the wrong accts and they will not change it.
3 months now and every month they do it, I can't stand their on-line banking site. Worst ever, you can't find anything, you can't change anything and even the customer service reps can't find anything. I will start closing accts today.
Karla treated me like a human being, other than just a customer. She stayed on the phone with me until I calmed down and she knew I was okay. She said she couldn't go until she knew. I called almost having an anxiety attack about fees. Thank you so much Karla for helping me and making me feel better. We need more people like Karla!
USBank's IT department has taken over the bank's attempts at providing digital banking services - and has failed miserably. Attempting to do your banking online is an exercise in frustration and aggravation. Abysmally slow; failure to connect; temporarily unavailable; broken links; an endless litany of digital failures - and absolute barriers to customer service from a real person - make online banking at USBank a joke. The only remedy is to switch to a bank that works...
Recently my granddaughter and her father opened a checking account at our local US Bank branch. They both presented their drivers license and gave their current information. Their mailing address no longer matches their license address as they just moved into the area. The clerk opened the account and took their deposit. 3 days later their account was froze with no notice. Upon contacting the branch they were told it was frozen because their license did not match their mailing address so the bank was holding their money until they had proof of the new address. They were also told they could not withdraw any of their money.
1) Why did the bank open the account if there was a problem with the address as presented
2) Why did they take their money
3) Why were they not notified if there was an issue
4) Why are they getting the royal runaround
5) Is the bank going to pay past due fees because they won't give them their money. I think not.
If there was a problem then they should have been unable to open the account in the 1st place. This bank is certainly not a customer friendly bank as no one seems receptive to assisting them to get this resolved. All they will say is the funds are froze for several days until the corporate office does whatever they do. I have been a US bank customer for several years but will close all my accounts and move them to a different bank. I will not recommend this bank to anyone.
I have had the same account for over 20 years. I received notice last week that US CCP bank was closing my accounts. I called and asked for an explanation. The lady told me I would receive an explanation in the mail. Two weeks later no explanation. I asked for another week so that I could transfer balances and rearrange prepaids. NO. I'm speechless but not surprised. Too big to fail. This is not a safe place for your hard earned assets.
Be aware of the scam! They're not honest about the bonus offers for opening online checking account, it's just a trap. Once you reach the point to add money to activate the online account, it wouldn't work for me and per the representative recommendation went to a close branch to add money to the account. Instead of crediting the online account, they created a new account, leaving me with 2 accounts that I did not need. The promised bonus per their winter offer (300$) was never added to the online created checking account. And when I inquired they said they can't do anything as the redeem code (even though I used it when creating the account) is not valid anymore. The customer service did not offer any solution for remediation and just said 'we can't do anything about it'. Make sure to stay away or if already created the checking account with the redeem code for the bonus to inquire promptly if you don't see it added to your account. The 1 star is because customer service failed to provide any help and did not understand the situation. Who would want a helpless bank anyways?
My overall rating big ZERO not even half star
Enrolled in direct deposit about a month ago
I don't get live check from my employer and didn't
Receive the bank card
My honest opinion stay away from US BANK
Not worth the time and effort
They locked both my dad's saving and my checking due to suspicious transactions.
Look for other bank
Thanks us bank for not listening to your customers, I specifically told us bank credit department wed to not process an auto payment because I'm unemployed and a single father of two small children. Not only did they go and process that payment, they did two months worth. Which overdrafted my us bank checking account. When I spoke to the us bank credit department and worked my way up to a manger to explain this situation to him. His resolution was he can't do anything for me, but I should contact my bank to see if they can help. I said to the man you are my bank, you took two months worth of payments I told you not to. I explained to Chris how I'm sitting at a gas station 40 miles from home, Chris the credit department manger said sorry call your family. I literally had to walk 40 plus miles in the dark in 35 degree weather. Because us bank credit department charged my us bank checking account two months worth or payments causing 100 dollars in over draft fees. ThIs is insane, what if I was 80. Us bank will literally leave you stranded. I will be closing all my us bank accounts, I won't bank with a company that doesn't do what the customer asks, takes zero responsibility and leaves people stranded to walk home on rural 35degree roads.
Thanks us bank, you care for your customers like Vladimir Putin cares for humanity
I have been with us bank for 13 yrs. I have went through a loan modification with them and recently a 6 month forbearance with them. I also have a credit card with them which the have reversed every late payment & cash with Withdrawl fees. They have bent over backwards for me.
U. S bank wants to keeps holding my funds hostage, they are talking about its fraud protection however if I suspect fraud I would call them or if I could not find my card I would call them. What they are doing is suspicious and unsafe because I have to keep uploading a selfie and an i. D card, so what are they really doing with that info and what happens if somebody else gets a hold of that info. I have heard that the bank has connections to other countries so is that where the info is going? I feel unsafe using U. S bank because this is nothing to play around with and it is unsafe and I have never dealt with anything like that at any other bank I have had business with. Somebody will lose their job at U. S bank and regret ever trying to cause problems for no reason. I have heard of U. S bank stealing money from people even so tell me, who will investigate them for the REAL fraud.
I joined US bank 6 months ago. At first I thought they were a decent bank. In the last week I went overdrawn by $10 and couldnt believe what i saw on my account, they do not just take one charge of $36 a day, not them they think its fine to take $36 extra four times a day. So till my wages go in they are taking out $144 a day from my account. Wages will be useless. I am beyond flabbergasted that this is classed as legal. To me its nothing more than legalized theft. Will be shutting this account down as soon as able.
Due to too few bankers to help a customer the service is POOR. The online directions are most difficult. I wish I had never signed up with US
Bank.
Now I know why fees are so high.
After paying over $88.00 on a credit card that waz delinquent $9.37.

Omg! What kind of joke is this bank! I have had a theft to my account twice during 4 month period and they didn't stop it not once! One was for over 1000 $ in United Kingdom and then over 300$ in California when I called the customer service the girl on the phone told me it happened to her 6 times this year! I have another account with Wells Fargo for 18 years and nothing like this happened to me once! Second they charge me account fee 8 $ but nobody mentioned if I go paperless I don't have to pay anything. So after 8 months they send me a letter saying if I go paperless there won't be account fee anymore. Wow people! Just say it at the beginning! I don't care for your paper statement! After that I call the customer service and a person on the phone is very nice, she connects me to supervisor who after explaining the whole situation reverse my fees for last 3 months and says everything will be fixed and you are paperless now. Well guess what I got my paper statement this month and they charged me the fee again! The worst customer service! It makes you feel like they say one thing and do another! Well I'm worn be their customer for long for sure!
We regret using USBANK mortgage...
Worst customer service ever... Rude
On phone. And holding our refund from previous auto payments accounts hostage.
Worst experience ever. No branch to walk into all on phone or online. Terrible bank.
Answer: U.S. Bank is NOT A SCAM! I've been banking with US Bank for over 18 years, and unlike many banks (TCF in particular... who's process may have changed by now since they got sued over it) US Bank counts your deposits first, checks or debits against your account second. If you know how to use Google, and you can find a branch by you, you will get the help you need. The statements by Joe B. Are insanely false and ridiculous. I have 2 checking accounts, 3 savings account and 2 US Bank Visa cards, I've never had an issue doing what I needed to do with regard to any of these accounts, and if I did have a question, they were easy to reach and always helpful. I am NOT currently a fan of their mobile app as they've kept updating it to a point where bill pay is messed up, but otherwise it has been most useful for transferring money and managing my balances. I've traveled the country and never had an issue getting money when I needed it, or handling my finances. And the bill pay on their website has helped me manage my monthly payments (house, utilities, loans) with ease, which was suggested by a US Bank customer service rep... which until recently, was very effective even through the mobile app. And just for the record, I've been buying groceries (and countless other things) at Walmart for 20 years... guess how I paid for it.:-) In general, over 18+ years, I can absolutely recommend US Bank. And no, I don't work there, I'm just a customer who opened an account there because it was across the street from where I worked at the time.
Answer: At the time, it was convenient because it was across the street from where I worked. I've stayed with them because they have always come through for me. Customer Service is easy to contact at 1-800-US-BANKS. Or you can find a branch where you live at USBank.com. And NO, I don't work there, I'm just a customer that knows how to use Google, the internet, a keyboard... c'mon people, use the hat rack on your shoulders.
Answer: Why are you asking people in a forum?! Call the bank and ask them! Here is a place to start: https://www.usbank.com/about-us-bank/customer-service.html
Answer: I had to buy US Bank checks recently. Two boxes cost me $40.80
