I did a reservation for an apartment for myself and ended up with a Room... ok, my fault here. I told myself "ok, I'll stay with the room".

The demonstrated price was 2k for 80 days... to then, find out that I would have to give a deposit and even pay for the other months. And when I decided to cancel, guess what? You need to have 60 days ahead of the start date to get any refunds, with the exception of their refund... which was an absolute bull$#*! of 750 euros, to do NOTHING.

So I'd still have to pay 2900 bucks to stay those 80 days.
For the same period, I can get by 1300 on airbnb.

I just canceled and accepted the 2k money loss (huge money loss), since they won't reply any attempts of communication. Disgusting service, stay away.

I booked a room with uniplaces in Madrid which had an ensuite. As soon as I booked i realised the link no longer worked and it took me to a slightly different page that did not have the same bedroom details as I booked. I waited for the contract which arrived 3 days later and realised it did not have the right bedroom details again, so tried to cancel - but it was after 24 hours of booking which is ridiculous as they lied on their website and made me pay for a room that doesn't match the description, so I have lost £1500. Now uniplaces are not responding to me at all, so I would highly recommend avoiding this website at all costs! They are awful I can't believe people exist to be horrible in this world- students, workers and young professionals should avoid too.

I recently had an unfortunate experience with Uniplaces, an online platform that claims to provide safe and reliable accommodations for students. I feel compelled to share my harrowing story to warn others about the risks associated with trusting this platform.

When I initially booked my accommodation through Uniplaces, I was relieved to see that the place had been marked as "checked," indicating that someone from Uniplaces had physically visited the property and verified its safety. However, my relief quickly turned into disbelief and fear when the ceiling of my room unexpectedly collapsed while I was inside. My life was put in immediate danger, and I cannot stress enough how terrifying and traumatic this incident was.

The fact that Uniplaces had labeled the property as "checked" is deeply concerning. It implies a thorough inspection was conducted, providing tenants like myself with a sense of security. However, the reality was far from it. How could a property with such a blatant safety hazard be marked as safe? Uniplaces failed in its duty to ensure the well-being of its tenants, and I believe it's essential for prospective users to be aware of this grave oversight.

Moreover, I am deeply disappointed by Uniplaces' response to this incident. Not only did they neglect to adequately address the dangerous situation that occurred, but they also made matters worse by re-listing the room on their website as available and marked as "checked" once again. This blatant disregard for tenant safety and the lack of follow-up inspection is absolutely unacceptable.

In light of these experiences, I implore anyone considering using Uniplaces to exercise extreme caution. Trusting this platform could potentially jeopardize your safety and well-being, as it did with mine. The incident I faced was not only terrifying but also left me feeling betrayed by the false sense of security that Uniplaces provided.

Furthermore, I firmly believe that Uniplaces should take responsibility for the trauma and danger they exposed me to. I urge them to refund the service fees I paid, as their services proved to be entirely unworthy and contributed to the perilous situation I endured. Additionally, I believe that compensation should be provided, not only as a gesture of goodwill but also to acknowledge the severe negligence that endangered my life.

It is disheartening to see a company that claims to prioritize tenant safety and satisfaction fail so spectacularly. Until Uniplaces takes concrete measures to rectify their flawed system, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend their services to anyone. Trust, safety, and accountability should never be compromised when it comes to providing accommodation for students or anyone else.

Uniplaces nor the landlord don't deserve any stars. Both are unreliable. I don't recomend anyone to use Uniplaces. Everything is fine when things go smoothly but in case of any trouble they always take the landlords site against the contract.

The landlord doesn't follow the contract at all and only functions with money. He tries to take advantage of you in any way he can if he earns some extra money.
He also blamed me for many things that I didn't do or wasn't correct. And soo many other illegal stuff. Horrible experience!

Emailing every single day to the Landlord, reminding them to give back the initial deposit after we left the house 30 days ago, tired to this surreal situation, i told them i would hire a lawyer and sue the landlord. After this day, the landlord gave a lame excuse and return back the money.

I contact again Uniplaces to make a review in their site but they said tha after 30 days, reviews are not allowed. That's it, Uniplace is just a lame service sitting in a pile of golden eggs (real state in Portugal) not giving sh*t to their final customers, only the landlords.

Do not recommend this tool!

I booked a room that looked nothing like the pictures. The walls were mouldy, the door was broken, the floor was cracked and the kitchen was not as described.I reported the problem to the site within 24 hours of arrival, with pictures to prove it, and the owner admitted the faults but they were not fixed. I didn't stay in a place that was harmful to my health, but I still didn't get my money back. The costumer servise is not helpfull at all they never want to give you compensation.

I had to leave my apartment after six days because it was unsafe (threats from landlord, no electricity, physical violence), and spent a lot of money on airbnbs until I managed to find a new place. I contacted uniplaces and they were very unsympathetic, they clearly didn't care, and didn't get a refund of anything, not the rent, not the deposit, not the €300 service fee I paid to uniplaces to "guarantee my safety at every step" lol what a joke!

I used UNiplaces when booking my place abroad and I am very dissatisfied and upset. I made multiple complaints because the landlady I was sharing a house with was horrible. She invaded my privacy, refused to let me use the washing machine, spoke down to me constantly and was rude in her messages. At one point she was so vile that I had to get a hotel for a few days. I also couldn't have any guests in my room although I was paying an unreasonable amount for the room. I couldn't find another place because all accomodation was booked up and all UNiplaces did was offer discount on their personal fee for my next apartment. I appreciate they give you 24 hours to report a problem- but this particular problem arrived later in my stay and as a student who had moved abroad for the first time, my mental health suffered. On top of this- the landlady decided not to give me my deposit back and there was nothing I could do although I was leaving because of her unreasonable behaviour. Perhaps they should review their policy! I will not be using again

I booked my stay abroad through uniplaces. Everything looked good online but shortly after moving in I noticed that the apartment and also my room had a huge cockroach problem (in bed, in the room, kitchen, living room, bathroom, everywhere).
I found about 10 cockroaches in the apartment every day, with a lot also being in my room, sometimes up to 10 in my room. After my landlord did not want to reduce my rent and I informed him about the legal situation (he knew about the situation and put wrong information online, cockroaches everywhere) he told me I have to pay or else I'm free to leave (even though he knew exactly what he was doing is illegal and I had hardly any options to move somewhere else within short notice) what about uniplaces? Tells me to pay rent (I didn't pay rent because I wanted a rent reduction) or I can leave:--)
Due to lack of options i moved out (luckily: i couldn't sleep in that room for much longer in because i had cockroaches in my bed!) and completed my semester abroad back home in austria online
When I wanted to leave a short and honest review on uniplaces about the room I got the info that uniplaces has any right to change or not publish reviews if it violates the guidelines. My review described the room and also stated that the room and apartment had a major roach problem - what happened? Uniplaces did not publish it so they can rent the room to the next poor girl not knowing what's about to come. I paid 650€ (cold) in Lisbon. Thanks for that Uniplaces. Questionable practices. Don't help, they support the distribution of wrong information and give you the option: pay or get out. Never again - do not to book.

They are pirates. Stay away from this company!
I paid for a reservation that I had to change for reasons of force majeure. I discussed the change with the owner and she had no problems with this. After the change we had to cancel the trip and Uniplaces does not want to return the money as a deposit to the owner or me. They want to keep the 1600 euros that I paid without giving me anything as a refund, not even to the owner of the apartment that we wanted to rent.

One of the worst unethical companies that I have ever dealt with in my 38 years on this planet. I told them that I had a medical emergency and that I needed to cancel - 60 days in advance. I provided solid evidence by a doctor from my country, but it was "invalid". Was this because it was from a middle eastern country? A very racist behavior that's keeping a disgusting taste in my mouth. Uniplaces is trying to scam and until now I have not seen my money back. I will do everything in my power to expose this company to regulators in the UK, the EU and wherever they operate. I will make sure that media cover their unethical practices until this company revisits its consumer laws and hire an ethical committee to help them to stop exploiting people or shut its doors once and for all to keep the public safe.

Worst week ever!

Uniplaces charged me the whole month as well as the service fee even though i informed them that the appartment was dirty, bathtub didnt work, and there was literally a hole in the wall where a pipe went out, as well as he was arguing until 3 am complaining about me and I heard everything. After complaining several times they didnt take me seriously and stood by the landlords side who mostly ignored my questions or demands to fix and clean. I moved out after a week but am very disappointed with uniplaces

Terrible experience! DON'T USE THIS PLATFORM! We booked a room that was supposed to be in Madrid, and it turned out to be an hour away from Madrid. It was only after we payed we were given the exact address. We tried to cancel immediately and asked for a refund and of course they refused. Never again!

Take money and gone

We ukrainians, we were forced to relocate in another country... I booked studio in Paris, before that Uniplace's help answered very quickly. Than landlord said me I should sent deposit BEFORE move-in date on MoneyGram to ANOTHER NAME and these transfers are not protected in any way. If I don't do this - I can cancel booking. Uniplaces don't answer me, I want my money back (700 euros). Today 30 of July, rent will be start 1 August, so now money in Uniplaces bill and they should return it to me... Booked ID *******

ABSOLUTE SCAM!

They accepted my request even though I didn't want to and I told them I was not able to meet the dates. I had to pay €255,00 for service fees for absolutely nothing. I also have to pay the first month of rent! NO ONE listened to the story and did not care about it. Unreachable. ABSOLUTE SCAM!

Uniplaces is a SCAMMING WEBSITE, please DO NOT trust this platform.
We rented a flat in Florence through an Italian platform called 'ROOMLESS' which is directly in contact with UNIPLACES.
Once we arrived in Florence, the place we got is incredibly filthy, there are spider web and dead mosquitos on the wall, all surfaces are super greasy, grease on all the switches, the floors and the bathroom are dirty and the sofa and chairs are with filthy stains.
The local agency called 'Homes in Florence' (another scam alert) UNIPLACES is in contact with is some sort of a 'MAFIA-ISH' agency. When we complained about the fact that the flat is unliveable, 'Homes in Florence' Googled my name, and found my company, went to my company and wrote one-star fake reviews.
Uniplaces disregarded all of the above factors, and wanted us to take the filthy place and refused to refund us one cent, despite the fact that we never took the apartment.
What a scam platform! If you do not want troubles, stay away from this platform.

DONT BOOK THROUGH UNIPLACES, we booked an apartment through them and had the worst experience, it honestly ruined our trip! We followed every instruction to get help from them when arriving at our apartment, NOBODY answered and it was a total scam, they kept our money AND charged us an extra month (we stayed only 30 nights and they charged us for TWO WHOLE MONTHS!) After sending them countless emails reaching for help nobody seemed to care, unfortunately we lost the money and our trip was ruined after figuring out the apartment was a scam.

Catastrophique!
Catastrophique, mal honnête je dépose plainte!
Bonjour

Je vous conseille de lire attentivement cet avis si vous ne voulez pas subir la même chose qu'à ma fille et moi.
Pour son stage de fin d'études ma fille avait trouvé via le site Uniplaces, un appartement situé à Antonia Pusich, n*2 à Lisbonne (loyer hors charges 865€) appartement qui acceptait notre chiens. Arrivée à Lisbonne à 20h30 en voiture, 1875km plus tard, je me rends compte qu'une personne fait le ménage dans l'appartement. Immédiatement ma fille est moi sommes « choquées » par les avions si bas et au ras des toits des l'immeuble car l'appartement se situe juste derrière les pistes d'atterrissages!
Impossible de dormir durant 5 nuits! Le bruit fenêtre fermées est INSUPPORTABLE!
UNIPLACES nous a répondu que le problème des avions est extérieure à l'appartement, cependant les nuisances sonores sont bien à l'intérieur!
Regardez ma photo de profil, elle est prise de la fenêtre de la chambre à Lisbonne!
Jamais cette situation n'était indiquée sur l'annonce, autrement jamais nous n'aurions pris cet appartement!
De plus, la femme qui a fait le ménage à pulvérisé le matelas avec un produit chimique très odorant, le laissant quasiment mouillé, malheureusement les énormes taches d'urines et de sang qu'elle a tenté de faire disparaître ont résisté et je ne vous parle pas de l'odeur!
J'ai bien évidemment fait des vidéos ainsi que de nombreuses photos pour faire valoir mes droits car ne pouvant pas dormir à cause des avions juste au dessus des toits et l'état exécrable de la literie, nous avons cherché en urgence un autre appartement! Évidemment le loyer de 865€ à été encaissé et aucun remboursement ne nous a été fait! Honteux d'arnaquer les étudiants qui n'ont pas beaucoup de moyens financier!
Je poste sur ma page Facebook les videos et photos pour vous prouver mes dires et que vous ne vous fassiez pas arnaquer comme nous!
Ma page est Nina kha (ma photo est ma tête /lunettes de soleil et un chien) n'hésitez pas à aller voir car un voisin a Lisbonne nous a dit que nous n'étions pas les 1er à se faire avoir par le propriétaire, que c'était très régulier et Uniplaces est également responsable!
En gros ils encaissent plusieurs loyers par mois puisque personne ne peut supporter un tel vacarme et une telle crasse!
Je n'en resterai pas là, je veux qu'ils rembourse les frais engagés
Je dépose plainte contre Uniplaces dont j'ai conservé tous nos échanges
