When I received the bill of $24.99 on my PayPal, since my kid hardly use the web, I sent a cancellation request to the email address on the receipt. I received response and cancellation confirmation in the same day which I was very surprised because that day was Sunday. On Monday PayPal sent me a refund confirmation.
If I could give zero stars, I would. I found out my subscription had been automatically renewed. I didn't want this, so I unsubscribed and asked for a refund. They told me that they cannot give me a full refund, just 30%. Say what? Beware!
Now they want more money annually so that you can have the scrolling function! I am fine with them believing they need to increase fees for improvements and new features but it is unethical business practice to charge new and significant fees for current features! I am looking for a new provider of guitar tabs. Anyone having a great experience with a different provider.
Had to write this given all the negative reviews, in my third year now, never had a problem with the subscription. I am more than pleased with the tabs and I am considering subscribing to the lessons.
I have always paid via apple's app, the subscription runs out every year and I choose to renew it. Cant understand how anyone can have a problem with cancelling payments. I consider it a great go to and the features of pro are worth the money.
Customer support is equal to that of a scam site. If you try a free trial you are bound to get charged with how difficult they make cancellation and their lack of customer support. My advice is to stay away from this fraudulent company and use songster for any of your tablature needs.
They automatically charge your account annually without any confirmation or notification by email. When you try to cancel the subscription the process is intentionally unclear and convoluted. This is a very dishonest way of doing business.
Terrible experience, I feel robbed. I signed up for a free trial period and was fool enough to give them my PayPal details. 7 days after they charged me 100EUR as an annual subscription fee. They claim that I gave my consent but I did not. The only mention of a charge was in a lengthy "Terms and Conditions" file which I did not carefully read. There was no notification that a charge was imminent. I immediately asked for a refund, without having used their digital content whatsoever, and they denied. They only gave me a partial refund and charged me 25EUR for a monthly subscription which I did not even need. They normally charge 5 or 8 per month. I have sent to them around 20 emails. They either do not reply, or reply in a condescending way repeating the same answers over and over. There is no goodwill return policy. I assume they make a lot of easy money with this free trial shady tactic. Definitely avoid or be super careful with them. Make sure to cancel the auto renewal (if you can, some people have trouble with that too).
This company offers a 14 day free trial and then immediately bills your credit card. I tried to cancel and get my money back and of course they wouldn't reply to my request. They won't answer emails or the phone. DO not sign up with these scammers!
I bought a subscription but have been unable to logon ONCE! No customer service except by message. Tried to cancel within 3 days of start. U need to login to cancel and my password have been changed a dozen+ times. Total rip-off. Check them out. Not just me. Stay away. Thieves.
I was using 7 day free trial and had to go through a medical procedure with anesthesia and recovery time. I was in pain and tried to cancel it on the 8th day explaining I could not remember to cancel it a day earlier. They didn't want to give me a full refund for annual fee. What a shame what a horrible inhumane service

Ultimate Guitar website has not worked very well since their major updates (Almost 1 year now). And it just keeps getting worse!
Emails to the support team receive NO replies despite the claim that they will reply.
It is about time they accepted responsibility for their poor implementation of updates and new layout which gives the user a bad experience.
I am upset that I let my Pro User Account renew for another year.
I do not know about problems with cancelling subscriptions but my partners subscription was cancelled when I lost my credit card and received a new one. It does not surprise me that people are having problems with being charged for free trials and receive no support with cancellations.
If you decide to use Ultimate Guitar you will find a great selection of TABS but you will be faced with many bugs and major problems which have been ongoing for a long time.
So I would consider not paying for it.
I do not know much about the Phone App but I have heard and read many complaints.
Ultimate Guitar owe an apology to the whole UG Community.
Hire some decent programmers to rewrite your website and app.

I signed up to Ultimate Guitars free trial which was then cancelled the same day, just to be charged regardless! This is clearly a scam.
Such scam artists. Won't give me a refund for something I have not once used, and will not use. I was fine with paying 24.99 because it was my mistake last year. But this year too? They're crazy and attempt to charge you even when unauthorized. Terrible business and bad customer service.
They are a bunch of rip offs. They claim the have a 100% Satisfaction guarantee. I have asked for my money back, however they told me know! What kind of guarantee is that. The also boast a 7 day free trial. That isn't happening either. I am taking this to the next level because they leave me no choice. I tried to use their sire 1 time and then cancelled Same day I signed up. I just don't like their platform It SUCKS and is very hard to navigate and understand... Just do the right thing and give the MONEY BACK
Take advantage of the free tabs, they're overwhelmingly good, but don't pay or try to participate in the site, it's dominated by a few bullies and the site administrator does nothing to discourage them.
Do not try out Ultimate Guitars free trial or sign up for the subscription unless you plan to pay for it for a long time or are willing to go through a lot of hassle to cancel. I made the mistake of signing up for a free trial to help with one song I was having trouble with (where I found out the "pro" tabs for the song were just rhythm tabs anyway).
Ultimate Guitar tried charging my card 2 days before the end of the free trial, which was declined because I didn't have enough on the credit card used for it (a tactic I use for subscriptions). It's extremely difficult to cancel your subscription, you have to remember the exact way you signed up to cancel. Mine was apparently through Google play to where I had to go to a specific Google play site to cancel, and I don't even know if its actually cancelled. I now have to monitor my card to make sure they don't try to keep charging, and if they do, deal with more hassle and filing fraud reports.
Do Not Use UG's Subscription, use anything else and better sites that are free like UG used to be.
I opted for the $3 a month Christmas special they advertised on their website. Instead they pulled a Grinch move, and charged me $39.99, which I believe is their annual rate. Not at all what I signed up for. Look out for these guys, they seem to be very deceptive in their advertising. I gave a 1 star rating, since zero stars is not an option.
Purchased on line for one price on PC downloaded on phone. They charged me again for other membership twice. All the same log in. Sent a letter, they responded back puting it back on me to figure out instead of issuing a refund. Buyer beware...
I purchased a membership, which was very misleading, bait and switch. Loved it until a month later and the site does not even acknowledge I purchased a membership. I give this sigh a 0. LOOK at Negative Reviews...

Answer: I STRONGLY do NOT recommend Ultimate Guitar. Their 1.4 rating speaks for itself and their customer service is virtually non-existent, alll support email are answered by Bots that are programmed to deny any refunds.
Answer: I closed a credit card 6 months prior to their Autorenew, BUT Visa makes it possible for them to bill another Visa card I have...? Ultimate Guitar refuses refunds. I've filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and I strongly urge others to do the same!
