Decided to sell my Chromebook at CeX, but they seem to be absolutely clueless regarding them (I have been to two stores) and both were useless at knowing what to do, and I am not talking just about one member of staff, but several. Anyway! They said it would take them about 2 hours to wipe it and test it. Hilarious. Aren't they aware of the fact that a Powerwash on a Chromebook takes about a minute and is securely wiped? Anyway they wiped it before they quoted me the time, and I refused and didn't think much about it, anyway a month later I got a better offer in Cash Generator, booted it up and realised they stuck a password on it, so I couldn't even access my own computer, great eh? Then I went back to store and I was accused of being rude, well what do you expect me to be like? Extremely happy you gave me a ridiculous time frame of testing a computer and then sticking your own password on it. Anyway since this, I have ripped up my membership and will never buy or sell something in this ridiculously overpriced and underpaying store. (Put it his way, they sell second hand stuff at near RRP) doesn't make sense does it?
I bought a tablet, stopped working. Paid more to replace it. That did not work either. They tested it and could not tell that it was faulty. Then said would not replace it.
Over priced and poor product and poor service. Manager at Leicester totally unfriendly and aggressive.

IF I could give no stars I would! Do not I repeat do not order online from this company! I have no choice but to keep ordering until I get a right item as I have a voucher I have to use. I have emailed the managing director directly it's so appalling and I have had no help for the 3rd time I have had to place an order to get a correct item that works! 1st one cancelled, fair enough, 2nd GoPro wrong one, 3rd one A grade faulty and missing a vital part on camera And so back to local store again for refund! 4th told by online service to order again and they would help to ensure what is being sent is correct etc and guess what? Nope they didn't aNd have dispatched it anywAy! I have lost money in car parks and petrol and time wasted and I have a special needs son who came with me and it upsets him to queue and have to wait for them to check an item I just received in the post by them! I then had to get family help to have my son as he was upset and didn't want to go! I have no doubt I will be there again to refund my 4th order as it hasn't been checked! I paid more for an A grade to ensure this didn't happen but there was no point! No response to messages or emails in time either. No phone number and now I see why! Help my latest order number is ******* but I should all too late! Have had it now and wish I never bothered as it's stressing me out now!
First time bought a phone got home noticed yellow screen (damage) refused refund so changed to a new phone was OK for a but but went in recently got a new phone the camera kept going black and white so went back got a voucher as they refuse refund again got a new phone headphone jack doesn't work in it they refused refund or a swap. Partners phone died so needed a new one but I warned her cex are rubbish with phones always faulty decided to get one anyway come home today and it's not getting signal at all. Comes then quickly goes now everyone in the family they get signal everywhere in the house except her new phone from cex. DO NOT BUY PHONES FROM HERE. ALWAYS FAULTY
I lost all the data, pictures, videos and work files I had on my phone because the staff member forgot to tell me they wipe phones when checking them. I was not offered any format of genuine apology, the manager didn't even try and attempt to show me how to restore my phone after me repeatedly telling them it wasn't backed up. I am disgusted that they watched me stand there crying over the loss of irreplaceable memories without being able to show any care. I was just left there like an idiot. They then forgot to put my sim card in my phone so I had to miss my bus and go back to get it. Again I was dismissed and dealt with in a way that made me feel like I was in the wrong. Shocked and disgusted. Just because I'm dyslexic and gave trouble reading I shouldn't be treated badly because the receipt I signed tells me they will wipe my phone. I asked staff what receipt was for and was told to get my phone back after testing. Ridiculous.
Just been in my local washington store to return with recipt a VR i bought two weeks ago. Before I bought the VR I asked twice to make sure it would be compatable with my son's s6 edge to be told absolutely it will. To get home and find my son's phone doesn't fit. I then spend two weeks trying to find an adapter (which I shouldn't have had to do) without any luck. So as I promised my son I will take it back and get your money back ( he's 15 and was his money) so firstly I explain why I'm returning it and would like my cash back to be told that we just need to run a warranty test and it will take 2 mins. Anyway after waiting about 15 mins they came back to me and said they can only give me a cash voucher. Which is ridiculous they sold me something that they said would fit but it didn't. So of course I challenge this but In responce I get a jumped up little prick thinking it's funny and trying to be a wise $#*!. Unfortunately because my son was getting embaressed I had to give in and take the voucher. Terrible company! Terrible staff! Should be closed down for good the lot of them angry beyond belief if I could have put a zero I would
CEX are happy to deduct £1 off a trade or cash sale if your disc has a tiny scratch, they claim it covers disc cleaning... have you ever seen a disc cleaner in any store? No. They dont clean anything, they deduct the £1 and put the item out for sale. The amount of disc based media ibe bought with heavily scratched/soiled discs is unacceptable. Also, why do they think its ok to sell heavily damaged items? Ive seen video game boxed that look like theyve been towed by a car down the motorway, also they seem to think its ok to sell games/DVDs with photocopied covers. On a side note, their prices are daylight robbery in most cases, very poor in-store service. Unpredictable online services, and why separate a bundle? If I buy a Halo exclusive console I expect the game to be included, but no, they take apart gaming bundles and sell them separately. Garbage store, so many decent stores have closed down over the years but these parasites are surviving somehow.
I had this phone 4 months then the charging port broke. I got told it had a speck of dust in it and it was my fault. They told me to go elsewhere to get it repaired. Second Cex told me I had dropped it so therefore ii invalidated the warantee and they didn't want to know. THE WARANTEE ISNT WORTH THE PAPER ITS WRITTEN ON. Go somewhere else
I placed an order online with CEX for a £530 MacBook pro on Tuesday evening. Nothing was heard from them apart from the automatically generated email (stating delivery would take place between 3-5 working days) until Thursday. The email stated the item had been dispatched and gave me a UPS tracking number. The tracking number did not work at all and on Friday morning I contacted customer service by email about this issue. I also later contacted them by Facebook messenger as they hadn't responded to my email. It's not possible to phone CEX customer service, only email, Facebook & Twitter and they don't respond quickly to any of those either. I was then informed that the store hadn't shipped my item as reported and they would do so today (Friday). It would definitely go out today. I was given a new tracking number and using this I found that the item hadn't shipped on Friday. Saturday morning I contacted them again. After a long wait I was informed the item now wouldn't ship until Monday. No apologies. The item now won't arrive for a further 5 days, making the total shipping time 10 days! No apologies from anyone. I was just "thanked for my understanding". I requested to pick up the item from the store but was told I could not for "security reasons". Dont understand what security risks there are if i bring the appropriate ID. So I asked if I could cancel the order, get a refund of my in store voucher and buy one myself from another store. I was told this would take 3 working days to process! Now I am between a rock and a hard place as I have no quick solution to getting my voucher or my laptop. Customer service take ages to respond to communications and are unwilling to do anything quickly to resolve the situation. Contacting CS by electronic means is not acceptable. We really need a phone number to call in situations like this, but CEX don't want to give us one. Terrible service. Avoid buying on line from them at all costs.
Please don't purchase items from this company, especially phones. They're faulty and getting a refund is impossible without paying for legal assistance. They ignore the law and their customer service doesn't exist.
Appalling customer service, you've had hundreds if not thousands of pounds of business from me and you've thrown it away. Bought a 2GB laptop memory for £3.50 from you, took it home and it didn't work. After careful examination I noticed one of the chips was fractured! Having worked in electronics for decades I appreciate just how much effort it takes to fracture a chip (those things are tough). Took it back and was refused a refund on the basis that I must have done it on the way home. Of course there was no possibility it happened while being stored in the shop or that the assistant might have missed the tiny crack when they sold it. I've forgiven CEX for sending me entirely the wrong item on several occasions, fake memory cards, a dangerous fake charger and things being damaged in the post due to careless packaging but this really opened my eyes. Luckily I only wasted £3.50 to find out what you're really like. Never again, I'll certainly warn friends and family. What a rotten way to treat customers.
I bought a second had iphone 6 from a CEX store. I had it for 6 months and then one day it stopped turning on. I took it to the CEX store with all of my receipts and was told they could not try to fix it or refund the warranty because it had been water damaged. While in my possession, the phone never got wet and was not taken into humid areas. I was very careful with the phone because I do not have enough money to purchase another one. I found the absolute refusal of the staff to help as unacceptable, even if the phone had somehow been water damaged it is clear that this did not cause the phone to break. I will never shop here again - I lost over £300.

I have an urgent job to photograph a private engagement by one of the members of the royal family in a few days, and I ordered a highly specific and specialised SD card to arrive in time to photograph this important and historical event.
I received my delivery - but it wasn't the SanDisk Extreme PRO 32GB 95MB/s SD card I had ordered. Instead, CeX delivered to me a 'SanDisk Extreme 32GB 45MB/s' SD card.
This memory card is below substandard, it would be worth about £1.50 on today's market (far below the price of the SD card I actually paid for) and it is a memory card so old and outdated that it is no longer manufactured. It was hard even finding it online!
The customer service has been utterly atrocious, not caring one bit about the vitally important engagement I need to photograph, instead telling me to just return it in store for a refund. They didn't explain to me how I was meant to refund an item that is not the same as described on the invoice I received, and their response time has been so awful.
I really would not advise purchasing from CeX ever, especially if you are a professional photographer, as they will let you down, and show absolutely zero sympathy for their horrendous errors.
It is such a shame as I have long enjoyed CeX beforehand, but this ongoing incident just shows how very little they care about their customers, the substandard service they deliver, and their own mistakes.
Bought an iPhone 6 in December 2017 for my daughter (cash payment), it stopped working within a week so took it back, gave me an iPhone 6s as replacement and wavered the extra cost (sounds good) iPhone 6s stopped working also so returned back to another cex shop(closer to home) and was told I couldn't have a refund in cash only a voucher to spend in store. I refused and I'm taking this further. I Wouldn't buy as much as a pencil from that place. STAY AWAY FROM CEX. I've rated them 1 star only because I had to rate them but they don't deserve 1.
Phone sold to us with flat battery. When we started it up there was a slight fault on screen, which we did not object to, but the battery did not hold its power and screen touch facility was very poor responding, no matter how we tried to change settings. Wished we had check this web-site before the purchase. The shop claimed we had damaged the phone as they said they would not have sold it in that condition, and refused to refund or repair it.
Cancelled my online order for absolutely no reason, won't be using these cowboys ever again. This isn't the first time i've been disappointed using these.
I can't believe how many people compare CEX to being worse than Hell! The store is very helpful and, although the prices can differ, the games are almost always fully functional. Thanks CEX. Do not waste your time going into one of these shops, id give them no starts, complete crap, rude arrogant kids no one over the age of 25, Rip off merchants give you a pittance if they actually accept your items in the first place, then sell them for more then double what they gave you. They over price everything they sell, and then they will refuse to buy some things in store that in mint condition even though their website shows they buy and sell the item so false advertising. There Head office don't deal with complaints or seem interested, company is a complete joke do not shop or sell there, they should be closed down.
Bought a Sandisk 3D SSD from Cex for £65 in Kirkcaldy, Cex sold me a broken drive to which i later tried to return, not for a refund but to be replaced, this drive was only 48hours old, i also had the receipt. I tried everything to get the drive to work using web forums etc. They said i had broken it to which isn't true, ive installed hundreds of drives from working in IT in the past. I am now claiming through the Ombudsman to have my £65 refunded.
Stay away from this company. I have tried to buy a camera, after entering my cards detail the payment was declined, and they suggest to use a different payment method. Before using another card, I have checked my bank statement and I found a PAYMENT taken from Cex.
I have tried to contact them through their horrible website, but after 2,5 days I haven't heard anything back. The payment is still on my bank statement without any order made. I think I am going to lose 180£!

This means that it should be immaculate and have all of its original accessories. B grade is considered used and may have some general wear and tear marks, which will not affect the usage pf the product. It may not have its original accessories but will come with anything that is required to allow use the product properly.
