If you need to use UHAUL'S mobile app basically don't or read the very fine print prior. When it doesn't work then they very happily and I'd say deliberately charge you a late service fee even when you return their truck prior to the time-frame they have slated and in good condition. I was quickly pawned off to Scott, the regional manager for Massachusetts. He has no customer service! He was rude and unprofessional. Without calling me a liar about attempting to complete the mobile ask questions, he basically did! He dismissed me all for $20.00 because I wasn't able to complete it after a very long exhausting day moving. We were able to get the job done, truck back to the drop off location, and the key in the drop-off box. I called girst thing in the morning and I couldn't believe there was no one there for customer support- not the UHAUL person at the location, the regional manager or the two customer support personnel at the corporate office. I'll use another company for my next move. UHAUL has list my business if customer support is not a part of their business. Moving is a stressful time and their lack of support has spoken volumes to me!

The U-haul driver put my neighbors boxes on my property and when I called them (which was 5 times due to getting disconnected and transferred to numbers that were no longer in service) I finally get a number for traffic and the women would not even talk to me. Her receptionist said it would be Monday before they would pick them up and was very rude and hung up on me. So for a week I had to look at my neighbors boxes on my property and U-haul acted like I was the problem. Very disappointing and frustrating. And to make maters worse it rained and the area under the pallets has a sunk and now we have to fix our property.

I planned to help my son move from an apartment to a house and so I went online and rented a pickup from U-Haul at Dixie Highway in Boca Raton. I receive a confirmation from U-Haul and the day before a reminder from U-Haul so I think all is good. My wife drives me to the U-Haul rental in Boca to pick up the truck and when I go into the rental office they tell me they had cancelled my rental. What a pain… you plan your day to do something and then you learn you can't do it and U-Haul did not have the curtesy to let me know they cancelled my rental. I will not use U-Haul again.

Don't use Uhaul
March 27, 2022

Very poor service. Customer service is terrible. They tried to leave me high and dry yesterday. I made a reservation for a 26' truck 2 weeks prior to my moving day. They sent me to a dealer who had no trucks available. Called customer service and they told me there was nothing they could do. I finally spoke to a manager who sent me an hour away for a truck. I am seriously considering sueing Uhaul for all the unkempt promises. Don't use Uhaul. Go to Penske instead.

I've now been trying to buy a truck from uhaul for days. The process just doesn't make sense and I don't understand it. They send their truck sales people home for the weekend and nobody else in the entire building can access that part of the building besides this one person. Yet most people work during the week and have no time to go to uhaul or any dealer so they leave the weekend for that. I literally have the money and nobody is there to do a simple Job of taking my money and letting me test drive the vehicle. Moral of the story Uhaul stop sending people home or let other people be able to access the area of the building so the same can be made. This process could be simple and it's being made out to be harder than it is.

SCAMMED BY UHAUL!
March 17, 2022

I recommend everyone to take a pic of your starting mileage as well as ending as I was just screwed out money from these clowns. They charged me more miles than actually driven which was only a measly 10 miles to move 1 load to storage. I figured that the 10 miles would justify a gallon of gas used in the truck which o put on as I always do after a rental with these asshats. I was also charged for 3 gallons of gas@ $5 per gallon in which it has never ever reached 5 bucks a gallon in my 47 years on this planet in the state of North Dakota so I was fully taken advantage of on this transaction & will NEVER use this fraudulent $#*!ing company again or ever recommend them to anyone because of this bull$#*!. STEER CLEAR OF THESE $#*!TARDS PEOPLE!

Fuel discrepancies, refund headaches, overcharges, misquotes, failure to provide or secure desired size truck, transmission problems with truck. Headache lousy experience, but they know they got you between a rock and a hard place, because what else are you going to do when you need to move.

This location has the poorest customer service I've ever experienced. As I walked up, the female employee asked if I had a reservation. I said yes. I went inside and she remained outside for a few minutes to finish her cigarette. They lost my reservation I made on February 4th so I got all the way from Ohio and had no storage unit. She said the closest available unit was on Grapevine. This unit was supposed to be free for the first month with a one way rental. I asked did she reserve it, she said no I'll give you the number to call. Wow! Then I called today to let them know I finally found a unit with another company and I needed to drop the truck off in North Richland Hills instead of Grapevine. Andrew said we're leaving in a few and I "should" be able to drop off there but he couldn't change it in his system however he could have called reservations to have them change it yet he didn't even offer. He told me if I have an issue dropping off then I need to call the 800 number. After their error they can't seem to provide decent customer. Talked to corporate who basically said the same thing "sorry". They want me to go into an $89 unit for my free one month and then pay them $30 more dollars a month than the Public storage unit I found on my own. BEWARE: the storage confirmation email isn't a real confirmation. Corporate said when you get to the location, that location will let you know what they have. If they have nothing, there is nothing they can do. She'd would not adjust the monthly price. I gave them $2500 last week and this is my thank you. I guess Uhaul has gotten too big for their own britches. I'll never use them again anywhere.

I can't believe how they don't explain things correctly and feel they have the right to charge your credit card whenever and how much they want. From promissory note fees to mini storage fee's when you don't even have a storage or ever had one. Rented a 1 day truck and have been charged $114 $21 & $51 on 3 different dates. Trying to dispute it has been another battle. Horrible company

Disappointed
February 21, 2022

I reserved a truck, they refused the rental truck
Until I pay a bill that was not affiliated with me.
I request him as the driver. I was unaware that he had an outstanding bill. I asked them to remove him as the driver and add me because I was not affiliated with the bill they refused to unless the bill was paid they tried to force me to pay someone else bill I felt was very unfair to me I was always in good standing with them as far as paying my bill, I refused to pay someone else bill.

Concord Uhaul
February 11, 2022

We got a free month for renting a truck. Gave us a broom closet for $144 per month, but we're advertising 10×10 for $125. When I inquired they told us they didn't have any. When we emptied our unit 9 days after we paided for the month we ask for a partial refund and we're told NO! We were also told by the clerk who checked us out of our unit "oh good, we have people waiting for units" very disappointed

Potential death trap
February 10, 2022

I rented a 15 foot U-Haul for my move across town. The first load. My son was backing in the driveway had to stop for a minute. Then all of a sudden the motor revved up. He applied the brakes and his words he was standing on the brakes with both feet. So U-Haul continued to shoot across the road down the hill, all this while he had also applied the emergency brake. And struck the corner of my neighbor's house. Each time I tried to call to file a claim. I was told someone would get back with me. I was never able to speak to anyone to file a claim. Tried going online to file a claim. It kept saying there was error in sum of the input. Now I have received 5 months later a letter from an attorney's office suing me for $5,000 in damage to my neighbor's house. I did have the insurance on the truck. Property damage covers up to $25,000 and property damage the damage to her house is estimated at 9,000 seven hundred and something dollars. There is skid marks and I have pictures across the road we're only the front tires were trying to grab. Neighbors and the lady that lives in the house that was hit by the truck said they heard the motor revving and the tires squealing. Now every time I see a U-Haul truck it makes me sick to my stomach. There are other truck rentals my advice is check with Enterprise check this budget Ryder. Stay away from U-Haul. Malfunctioning Crooks

Service and support
February 10, 2022

I had reserved both a large truck and a large trailer over two weeks ago. At the last minute, I received an email from U-Haul telling me that I needed to go pick my equipment up 30 minutes away in the next town, (even though there are a number of U-Haul locations in the town which I requested). When I called back, U-Haul told me i could pick up the truck at one place in town and then I would have to pick up the trailer in another.
I got the truck and completely loaded it. I then took the loaded truck to the second U-Haul location to pick up the trailer.
They hooked up several trailers, discovering that the wires to the trailer faulty, not allowing the trailer's left turn signal to work. Consequently, they would not allow me to take the trailer.
The solution that U-Haul gave me was that I could go and unload the entire 26 foot truck and put it into another truck or that I could wait for roadside assistance to come to the U-Haul location and attempt to fix the truck. I literally waited on hold for an hour and never connected to a human being to even tell me weather they could get me roadside assistance or a time when they might be able to come out.
The day was getting later. Loading the truck took nearly half the day and I had hired extra workers who were waiting for me to simply "run over to pick up the trailer" so we could finish loading, I had to give up. I could not wait any longer to begin my eight hour drive back to Kentucky.
I ended up spending two nights in a hotel room, extra hired help, over $500 in gas to go to Georgia and return to Kentucky with only part of my belongings. This trip cost me over $1000, which I had expected. Now I have another cost of driving all the way back to Georgia, renting another trailer, getting more help and driving back to Kentucky… costs which I had not budgeted!
Not only that, after several calls to U-Haul and promises that a general manager will be "right back to me to resolve the problem"… NO RESPONSE!

Uhaul doesn't care
February 4, 2022

I was an employee of uhaul and unfortunately got to see the ugly side of uhauls "cover up politics". I was promised certain benefits "pay raise " and never received anything but excuses. Cou not get parts to make repairs and was dispatched to complete all of my work orders, my bosses work orders and then some. The Last straw was when I filed a sexual harassment complaint against my supervisor and and when my complaint was investigated I was given an ultimatum. Be quite, accept the situation or quit. Apparently this is standard operating procedure as I tried to take it further and was told no further action would be taken. So beware.
