Uber Reviews Summary

Uber's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from a perceived lack of reliable customer service and transparency in pricing. Many customers express frustration over unexpected charges, inadequate support during issues, and poor communication from drivers and the company itself. Positive feedback is scarce, with some drivers noting satisfactory earnings and enjoyable interactions with passengers. However, the overwhelming sentiment highlights a need for improved customer care and accountability, as many users report feeling abandoned and undervalued, leading to a growing trend of customers seeking alternatives to Uber's services.

Uber a No-Show.
July 21, 2023

I received this confirmation of my reservation.
In the app I was told I would be picked up by Azeb.
I waited 10 minutes and no one showed so I called another Uber who told me that he couldn't see my reservation on the system.
This made me late for a very important dentist appointment.
This is very poor service. Moreover there is no way to complain to Uber directly. Just an endless loop of FAQ's on their "support site" that only deal with a limited range of problems.
I am going back to taxi service. They were never so thoughtless.

Horrible!
July 18, 2023

I cancelled an order not even one minute after making the order and they cancelled it and then proceeded to charge me for the order without even sending an option of just still sending the food! Complete scam there is no way that they make $50 worth of food in 1 minute!

I decided to start doing UberEats for some extra money a couple months ago. I was able to do 2 orders until my account was deactivated for "altered/false documents". I had just submitted my profile picture twice, both of which were rejected. It is important to note that I am transgender, so my profile picture and the name associated with my profile could be misleading. I contacted support and explained that this was the case. My account remained deactivated for 2 MONTHS. I called 3 times and sent over a dozen tickets and, finally, had my account reactivated for a grand total of 5 minutes, after which it was deactivated again for the same reason, "altered or fake documents". I tore support a new one, as it took far too much effort to have a simple issue resolved, only to have it reversed moments later. I was given copy paste responses from the same customer support clowns from half a world away and I decided I was done. I had submitted around 40 profile pictures, all of which were rejected. They are either incompetent, stupid, or malicious.

Price gouging!
July 12, 2023

I made a Uber reservation 4/11/23, and was charged $29.25 for a 2.7 miles ride. I made the same reservation 6/06/23, for the same 2.7 miles ride, and was charged $37.00. Of course, I kept Uber's receipts.

Uber charges holds and then refuses to remove the hold.

I was charged $32 over and above my short ride, which the app said would cost me $9.70.
So if I was charged an extra $32 and they do this to let's say 100 people, then they have made $3200.00 fraudulently. Now imagine them doing this to 1000 customers. There you go, they just made a fraudulent $32,000 off of customers who trusted Uber.

These people need to be audited and sued until they give all the money back which they have stolen from customers.

Don't use Uber.

Uber sent a message to someone who helps me with the cost of the service buying gift cards for me and he received a message saying he has reached the limit on gift card purchases. Mind blown because what! You don't want money? I need the help and you tied my hands. Unacceptable. As soon as I can stop using it I will and will urge others to move away from the platform as it gets too big for it's britches. Now they dictate how we can even use our funds. You want money for rides but rejected money for rides. Make it make sense. That's why all the drivers are upset now and trying to side deal because Uber is now a giant and stopped caring because profits are good. It's unfortunate for the drivers. They are asking about fares because they know Uber is getting the lion share and they get stuck with peanuts. And on July 4th they charged DOUBLE THE FARES! Price gouging but gas prices are the same and so was the distance but not twice the price. Yay for me

My account was hacked. I reported to Uber. All rides canceled. 6 months later they reinstated 1 ride. Uber customer service could not fix the issue. I'm a Lyft rider for life now.

IMO uber doesn't care about driver only about themselves. It cost more to do uber than before. Especially when the gas prices are high.
Automatically when you work for uber what ever you make as a uber x driver you have to cut in half for fuel the next day
In my example I make 150 a day and Automatically I have to eliminate ate 75 to fuel and 75 to mu account due to gas prices being high uber doesn't care about there drivers.you would think since fuel prices are high uber would lower there take to the driver so we can get extra to cover fuel. Not everyone drive a uber black or uber Executive. And not everyone can work 12hr a day like others. And the quest are ridiculous on weekend 60 trip for a measly 60 dollars. Bring back the high dollar quest to make it worth our wild. Wow 60 trips for 65. Not every driver drives a prius

I currently work a side gig as an uber driver and I have to tell uz even their employees are treated miserably I'm so dissapointed to work for a company that treats their employees so badly and I had an issue with a recent fare. It was a 2 parted uber eats delivery. The first was 5 dollars and the second delivery for 10. I was only paid for the 5 dollar trip. Things happen so I contacted driver support only to be transferred from one specialty department to another about 7 times and finally they ended our chat with no resolvemmet of my issue. I cant believe how unprofessional these agents are and how badly I've been treated and only because I want to get paid on my work to feed my family. I even called the support hotline and the lady who helped me pretended to take care and assured me everything was great and how she saw the error and was going to take care of everything only to transfer me to another specialized department and do the same thing they did with the chat. Shameful way to treat people

Uber provides a non-working, fake phone number when they charge your card.
You have to cancel through the app itself. It's a maze, and not that simple. The strategy is to make it difficult for customers to cancel.

Uber and greed
July 10, 2023

Uber used to take 20% and give 80% to the driver, as of January 2023 they are taking anywhere from 50% - 70% in some cases. I live in South Orange County California, a ride from my city which is called Aliso Viejo to John Wayne Airport usually costs any where from $35 - $40 for the rider, in the past the driver would get anywhere from $20 -$25 of this fee, now they are getting about $10 - $13! A driver told me this a few days ago. This has left a very bad taste with the drivers and there are some that are taking the business direct instead of running it through Uber.

This company has a lot of issues and Dara is the wrong person at the top, the BOD are aware of this, but they can not just get rid of him.

This stock will be cut in half and back to $20 in the next 60-90 days, I am sure I am going to get a lot of thumbs down, but remember this post.

These are facts that I stating and if there are any Uber drivers on this MB they will agree.

$19 for ride to stadium for concert. $52 for return trip initially. Walked a mile away from stadium traffic so driver could avoid. At pick up, driver drove back into the mess of traffic despite navigation showing different route. Received 2nd invoice informing me there was $17.25 extra fees added not disclosed at the time of booking due to the event traffic. That was purely a driver wrong decision. Price gouging

I submitted to become a driver Uber had the nerve to reject my application due to a driver's license issue from over ten years ago. They have whole weirdos AND felons out here driving on their platform and they reject my app for something that's been resolved for over a DECADE. Yeah ok.

Uber representatives provided the same explanation over and over again to me, a confused and frustrated customer. I wanted to know why Uber was charging my account multiple times for one transaction. Why do I have to spend my time (my time = $$) trying to figure out all of Ubers obscure charges. Uber as a service does not follow ethical practices to ensure complete transparency to its customers. You cannot charge my account all of these fees and expect me to wait for the money to be returned (at my banks disposal). I do not feel confident and or trustworthy of Ubers services. The customer service agents simply are unapologetic and not empathetic. My concerns on whatever level have not been addressed as to Ubers charging policies. For that reason, I am not using Ubers services any longer. I will use another driving and eating delivery service moving forward. I feel forcefully taken advantaged of. Uber cannot touch my bank account and do so as it pleases. I will be deleting my Uber account and stopping services. See screen shots of some robotic customer service and a screen shot of the wild flip flop that happened in my bank account for only 3 purchases.

Too expensive now.
July 6, 2023

Uber USED to be a good option. I cannot believe I spent $43.00, which is an entire tank of gas to travel less than 2 miles, plus the driver went down a one way and almost got into a second accident. I'll only use if I absolutely have to.

No show no alerts!
July 6, 2023

After requesting an Uber several days in advance for a ride to the airport, we were left scrambling to find a ride at the last minute since Uber was showing no drivers in our area at the time they were due to arrive. However, Uber did charge our credit card days in advance when we first scheduled it. Will never use Uber again!
