Caution! If you use this product beware of the tricks that are used to confuse and mislead you. It'll cost you $$$ and the customer service representatives didn't seem to know how to resolve my issue. I ended up with a charge for something that I didn't need or want and was given directions with a link via email by the rep. To request a refund for the mistaken charge. After doing so I received an A. I. generated response rejecting my request. This company's business practices are absolutely unethical. I have since filed a dispute with my bank about this charge. I really wish TurboTax would have been more willing to resolve this matter reasonably then perhaps they would've been able to keep my business for in the future. Unfortunately they left me very unsatisfied and took my money anyway. SHAMEFUL!
If a zero rating was possible that is the rating I would give. There is no way to manually import employment income and other income information using the Easy Step method. You can only do this through the CRA form now integrated into the software in the forms method. Beyond bizarre. This renders the software a total waste of money and absolute garbage.
Turbotax 2021 loaded onto my laptop. It did not find my 2020 return even though I was looking at it on the screen. After reentering everything, during the review it brought up junk that was not needed or accurate. It would not print any previews or allow me to access my return. I have used Turbotax for several years, but this issue for 2021 is useless.

I paid with my credit card, got a receipt via text and another one in turbo tax. Right under the receipt they say just two more steps, and the next step is to make payment again. And I can't get by that step to my return unless I make another payment.
Their customer service is a joke. They say they'll call you back in 15 minutes which they do but it's just some flunky screening the calls who doesn't know $#*!. They they connect you with a real customer service person where they put you on hold for half an hour.
Turbo tax really sucks! It used to be pretty good but it's gone way down hill. I'll never use them again.

I paid more doing taxes on here than my partner, who is a 1099 contractor, paid her accountant. The entire experience was horrible unnecessarily. Hidden fees all over the place. This was infuriating and believe me I will never use this again. I have been fooled to many times with this false advertisement. It is less expensive to go to an accountant in my area, Nonsense!@! I will also be letting my social media know too! I hope you shut down or do better. This was not more convenient in any way!
I tried to file free because I chose to go over stock area but I didn't end up needing to report anything. At the end, I was held up because of the stock but it wouldn't let me go in and delete it because I realized I didn't have to report anything. It was going to charge me $89. Then to get it to file, I had to start over and second time charged me $129. It should have been free. Total rip off.
I am a retired CPA who has used TT since 1986 (I think). I have loved it, recommended it, and used the business self-employed version since 1990. The 2021 online program has totally turned me against TT. In prior years I made entries directly to each form. This year I had to create a separate spreadsheet so I could see the details of each entry on the business forms. Now, you cannot even look at individual forms UNTIL YOU PAY. I guess they are afraid I was going to just print my return and mail it without paying. As to payments, I selected the self employed program, as usual. Imagine my surprise when I learned, at the last moment, that I was being charged for the MAX program which was $80 more the the $119 program I selected. When I tried to change back to what I had purchased I was told I had to start over. After the hours I had spent preparing the return I paid the extra amount to avoid more hours of work. It feels like a trusted old friend has walked away from me. I will not be using TT in the future.
So so sneaky, my Google search took me to Turbo Live, I didn't realize it until we were completed and I was stuck. So dishonest, terrible company.
I used TurboTax for the first time in April 2022 to file Federal and State tax return for the year 2021.
TurboTax online made my resident address and status wrong.
It failed to file all Federal and State tax return, and all of them got rejected because of the wrong resident status and address, and also failed AGI match for the year 2020. Filing failed over and over again.
They charged me around $300, and never made it.
I wanted to get the charge refunded, but they said it is non-refundable since it is through online.
I was shocked. They said it is guaranteed to file tax return, otherwise they will refund all fee and charge.
It was kind of nightmare.

After happily using TurboTax for the past ten years, I am really disappointed with their recent performance. This year, was the last straw! I was not able to efile my returns due to "error messages," ranging from "update turbotax online." to "upgrade your mac." None of these options were available or possible. And it was IMPOSSIBLE to access live chat or get answers. HORRIBLE experience.
I have used this software for years. This year, 2022, they made mistakes on my return by not asking all the questions they are supposed to like they always have and now my refund is held up by the IRS. I even paid the extra money for support if there was a problem. I ended up having to amend it due to realizing there were some questions that weren't asked when I was wondering why my refund wasn't coming and getting that dreadful message that my refund is taking longer than expected. Now they want to charge me and I chose to have the refund pay for filing fees. I will never use them again. A CPA is cheaper and would probably get me more in refund than them anyway. They are scammers.
I've been using turbo tax for 8 years and I'm finally moving on. In 2019 my return was no given to me until 2021. This company just been messing me over I've had enough. This year return looks like it won't be here until 2023. Just a shame!
Out of no where I'm being audited every year like I'm a scammer, so I started paying for the plus benefits but I see now its just time to let it go and move on.
Turbo tax is the worst online tax filing company on earth. They lie and they literally harass people. I will NEVER use them again.
Installing Program Update is said to be less than 1 minute. But it stays there without progress for hours.
I've gone to a professional accountant this year in the wake of an audit notice from the CRA. Turbo Tax has been absolutely crap at making decisions and suggestions for co-filing. Last year I paid $4K and my wife paid $800.00. The CRA announced they were reassessing my wife in the amount of $3300. 00, and then demanded proof of our shared medical expenses. Not even a consideration that the co-filing might need to be reviewed. Turbo Tax will NOT help us resolve this at all.
David at TurboTax taught me about filing rules, vocab, etc. made it quick. At times a little too quick but overall I gained knowledge about the system. He also seemed motivated to get my expenses down to 0 without me asking. The TurboTax software itself has lots to improve in regards to its math calculations but David made it work.
I received a ""Error 190 - click for solution" notice and when clicked the tab got a message "Page cannot be found" message. Turbotax has no tech support - when you call *******848 they send you a generic email that is totally unhelpful and they tell you to hold for a person their computer just hangs up on you. I called 3 different times totalling 55 minutes with the same result. I've been using Turbotax every year for the past 23 years - this year is my last- BE WARNED!
I believe that Turbo Tax was negligent in explaining the use of the 3rd party charge for submitting my state tax forms. I expected a better customer treatment than this vague, dirty trick to get the 3rd party a exorbitant fee for processing the state forms. I will probably not use TurboTax again.
I filed my takes with them for direct deposit. Next thing I know I'm getting a check from GreenDot with an additional $69 in processing fees (after TurboTax fees were taken) because they said they could not direct deposit. TurboTax is taking NO responsibility stating GreenDot is a third party and I have to contact them. NONE of the numbers that TurboTax or online get me to a person and the have a horrible rating online. I have also tried GreenDots chat where I was told they can't help with those issues and someone would call me within 24 hrs (twice) - a return phone call never happened. I ihave now filed a report against GreenDot with the Better Business Bureau and will be also filing one against TurboTax. If they are going to use a third party, they should be using a reputable one.
Answer: Very difficult to get, had to call numerous times to get a response and then there was no, let me help you with that. They were uncaring about my situation, I had to pursue questioning what they can do and would end up forwarding me to departments that did not respond.
