After reporting my card lost and having it shut off "temporarily". No longer then an hour later I asked them to turn it back on, I was told I HAD TO wait for the new card…there was no other option. I then tried to have the funds transferred to another card and was vehemently denied. This left me penniless and aggravated. The customer service was horrible. The operator had no clue what the company policy was and she barely spoke English. I will have no access to my funds until my card arrives in two weeks, yet the company had no problem taking the monthly fee out. I will be canceling my card the moment it arrives.

Selling info
May 3, 2022

I keep getting emails from Mint. They have every bit of my info and once I contacted them I asked how they got it and they said turbo tax, I contact turbo tax and asked them why they said I gave permission, NO I did NOT I REMEMBER THEIR question and I clicked no and now this Mint place has bank info, tracking my spending and I ask them to please cancel their account and delete my info they refuse. Think it's time to speak to an attorney.

Hidden fees
April 28, 2022

The program gets more cumbersome every year. Lots of windows where you need to confirm all the things that don't apply to you. My situation is very simple and never changes, but I still have to buy the upgraded version because I'm not allowed to put that simple checkmark in the base version.

And I hate how they tell you after 4 hours of messing with their program that you now need to pay an extra $49 for each state to file - or delete ALL states.
If you're a traveling sales (wo)man who gets small amounts of income in 4 states and gets basically no returns, they make you pay through the nose.
Theoretically due to my low income I'm eligible to file free, but TurboTax tell me after all those hours of inputting receipts that I either need to pay $49 for each state or delete all states.
What an enormous waste of time.

I'm retired and disabled. TurboTax charged me $150.00 dollars for us to do our taxes because my wife has Obama care. Our adjusted gross income was right at $9800. 00 dollars. I filed two days before the deadline and had to pay it, but never again. They're scammers.

Turbo Tax has gone downhill.
April 26, 2022

I was a Turbo Tax client for years, many (family) returns completed, but let me warn you, they made a change that if your return includes a T5, you are now paying $70 for the "premium" s/w. I was able to use "standard" for years. Suddenly my T5 puts me into a higher snack bracket. Very disappointing. I won't use Turbo Tax EVER AGAIN. Good-bye. I'll file with another product... and there are many. Note that on check out I actually got charged $63 for two simple returns.

Did my taxes about a week before the due date. All seemed fine, submitted I owed both state and federal. Choose to use the auto withdrawal to pay both and set the payment date for the next day. Federal all went smoothly, payment came out of my account no problems. State on the other hand seemed to be lagging. I spent two days trying to get a hold of my state tax office. Finally got a call back today. It seems that Turbo tax set my payment date to the state for 05/02 even though I chose the day after I filed. I was told by the state that if I attempt to change it now it would end up being pulled from my bank account twice, once today and then again on 05/02. I am now into Penalties and Interest and there is nothing I can do to stop it. Person from the tax office says they have received several calls for the same exact thing.

I called a customer service "specialist" for help with my rejected tax filing and was told there was an issue with the AGI which was not the issue. I received no help and was on the phone for an hour and had none of my questions answered. When I asked if there was someone who could help me with my questions, the Specialist hung up on me. I called the next day and got someone who at least answered my question but couldn't resolve the issue. I doubt very much that I will use this tax service again.

In trying to help a friend of mine amend a previous year's tax return, Turbo Tax has locked her out of this option because of an unretrievable email address that she was using when she filed the return with TurboTax.
When talking to different Turbo Tax "experts (HAHA)", the various Useless suggestions that they offered were inconsistent from expert to expert, and they were individually of No Help at all... accept to steer us onto more online dead-end solutions.
Bottom line is... I can't trust Turbo Tax any longer with something as important as my tax records. They have hijacked my friend's info and she may well suffer legal repercussions for not being able to amend a previous filing.

I rarely post reviews, but this tax year and the error Turbo Tax made really upset me. They have a service they offer regarding paying your taxes via an EFT on the date you select. Like most, I prefer to pay my taxes closer to the tax date. Why would I pay Uncle Sam early when my wife and I pay so much in taxes every year? This year, Turbo Tax failed to pay our taxes on time and we were charged with a late fee. It was only $32.00, but despite it being Turbo Tax's error, one of their managers, Gary Katz, refused to reimburse us. I'm sure Gary Katz isn't worried about little old insignificant me raising hell about this, but that $32.00 he said Turbo Tax is going to cost them thousands in lost revenue because I will never use their service again. I have also gone on other social media to tell family and friends about Turbo Tax's failure and the lack of concern of Gary Katz for Turbo Tax's customers. Katz actually insinuated that we were at fault for not paying our taxes ahead of time to ensure they would be received on time. The service Turbo Tax offers is that the customer set the date of payment. Turbo Tax had plenty of time in advance to ensure that our EFT arrived on time. I encourage everyone to use another tax preparation firm to handle their taxes. In addition, as a veteran, I will now begin using the free services of the VA to help prepare my taxes in the future.

I purchased Turbo Tax 2021 so the program could import directly from Quick Books. The import began and continued for 4 days (doing nothing) until I had to end it. The voice (AI) call process could not understand the basic replies and ultimately terminated my call after "thanking me." I strongly DO NOT recommend this product!

As a self employed person, I don't pay taxes all year, this year it says I get a refund?
No matter what a did to change income or expenses the refund amount keep getting bigger:(
I know this sounds like a good thing but it cannot be correct.
I did a friends taxes and it charged $ to efile only to get rejected. Said the AGI was not the same as last year? I have the copies of last year in front of me. This will be the last year to use this unprofessional software. It would be easier to just get the forms and fill them out yourself.

Turbo Taxing
April 18, 2022

Turbo Tax should be renamed to Turbo TAXING! I happily used this service for two years. This year has been a huge waste. The new system is glitchy and I had reload my documents several times. They have a new "product support" team and they are untrained. When I called in and was fortunate enough to get a live agent they were guessing at how to use the online forms. I was disconnected mid conversation twice and no one bothered to call back. Forget about asking anything related to your actual taxes! On my final call the agent who reminded me that she was only "product support" did her best to upswell Turbo Tax.

A RIP OFF
April 18, 2022

I had them check my taxes to make sure I did them right. They charged me $222.00 for nothing my taxes was not right. I will never use turbo tax again. Class action lawsuit should be done on them. They are a rip off. Advice don't use them. Of course they took their money out of my refund. Which is not what they said it would be.

TurboTax has been lobbying millions of dollars every year to make sure Americans can not file their taxes for free. They run an insulting ad campaign claiming to be free even though it is not free for almost everyone I know that has used it. If fact it cost me $200. This ad campaign is all more insulting because filing your taxes SHOULD be free for everyone, and only isn't because of their aggressive & regressive lobbying practices. The free filing program was launched 17 years ago by the federal government and yet I still pay $200. You're a student? 200 dollars. You're unemployed? 200 dollars. You're disabled? 200 dollars. TurboTax is a evil company run by evil people who can rot in hell for all I care.

This is the worst system ever. You have to verbally spell out your email, name and other info, but they can't hear you, I have a Florida accent, how do you get Maria out of Kristina? HA, what a joke. I just said yes, instead of no (no puts you back at the main answering system). Yes put me in the 2 hour wait line. This is absurd!

Advisor service
April 15, 2022

I have been using TurboTax premium for more than 10 years. I tried to get help first time this year regarding efile since I got error saying pin is wrong. I submitted my call back request at their website three times. Every time it says "will get call with 24 hours" but I never got a call back. That is enough. I will switch to freetaxusa starting next year. Bye-Bye TurboTax.

This is the first time I used credit card to pay federal taxes, was not aware there is convenience fee for using credit card to pay taxes. Turbo Tax hides convenience fee for using credit card. They get you to sign online credit card use agreement, which probably contains such disclosure in small print. Next got hit with convenience fee hundreds of dollars on credit card. Spent 10am-5pm on the phone calling Turbo Tax, Intuit, IRS, Bank to stop credit card payment, so I can pay by direct bank account debit, each wait one hour, each asked you to call the others, nobody can stop the payment, why the customer is being robbed live! Turbo Tax is total rip off, they trick you everywhere to pay more. H&R was more honest, but they screwed up 2 years ago with an item I had to report which their program could not handle, so I had to switch to Turbo Tax. H&R presented bank direct debit up front or mailing check, they did not set credit card traps to trick you into and hide convenience fee charges in small print in credit card use online agreement. Turbo Tax is unethical and tricky. They trick you into paying extra and hidden fees you are not aware of till you sign up. Got to find another tax reporting software!

I paid $59 for tax service, that with all my deductions I should get $1600 back. The IRS had different thoughts, took away all deductions and now I'm getting $210.00 back. I could have gotten that on my own with a 1040e paperwork. What did I pay them for? This used to be my go to and every year it gets worse and worse. I will never use this again. Save my money. Does nobody have decent service? I'm going to my local CPA, she is $40 more, but she does the job.
