I tried them for the first time and they gave an option to get help with a tax expert. Well I only had issue with it, no one could answer my questions, and it kept kicking me out to where I just said forget it and called someone else for help. Well before I filed I told them I wasnt paying for the online help cause I didn't get any help and to cancel it before my taxes go through. They said sorry w can't do that to just submit my taxes and when they take it from my taxes they would refund it back. So I put them through with the help ( I mean no help fee). So instead of them taking it from my taxes they cleared it from my bank account without me knowing and then said sorry we can't refund you. Dont ever file taxes here. The person on the phone said don't worry about it, if it comes out of your account which it's not supposed to for any reason to call for a refund. So they tell me oh sorry we don't give refunds for a customer being unsatisfied with the product. It should have never came out in the first place because I didn't want it.
I have lived in NM since 2011. My wife received royalties from wells in Colorado in 2015. Long story short, we WERE NOT advised by Turbo Tax that we had to file a 104PN. We now have to file an amended return, and guess what? We have to pay an accountant because TT does not have the 2015 forms. So much for guaranteeing to stand behind you once you file with them. TT is a complete rip off. NEVER AGAIN.
Oh yeah, the rep from TT told me it was my fault that the 104PN wasn't filed.
So I do my taxes. Then click the option that they take the fee out of my taxes. All of a sudden a few months laters these a holes take it off my card without warning when I gotta pay my rent. AND I never got my taxes because of some identification thing so now I'm going to be late by 2 weeks. I hope this entire company bombs. F TURBO TAX!
I'm giving it one star only because I can't give it zero. The software defaulted to standard deduction and cost me almost $900 in my state refund. When I tried to amend the return it calculated it wrong again. When I asked for a refund they denied it. I'll never use this product again.
I signed up for autopay for my fed and state taxes, but later got a letter from the state saying I hadn't paid (including a penalty and interest). I called Turbo, they said info was provided and to call the state. Called state and they confirmed no autopay card info was provided. I called Turbo tax again twice and both times they hung up on me and called back.
I asked for electronic deposit of my refund into my bank account, and IRS deposited it in an account in another bank because both my routing number and account number on my return had been changed. I carefully entered the correct numbers and ALL 18 DIGITS WERE CHANGED AFTER I SUBMITTED MY RETURN. Nine digits for the routing number and nine for the account number. If you use TurboTax, BEWARE DIVULGING YOUR BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION. I'm still tracking down my money!
A terrible company. They don't care about their product. They basically robbed me... Avoid intuit products...
I have called, written, emailed and faxed every organization that I can that is somehow involved. Turbotax won't even speak to me about the accuracy guarantee because there isn't a line on my IRS letter showing fees but they deducted $4,000 saying it wasn't calculated properly so why am I not able to speak to CS with Turbotax on this? Can't reach the IRS to save my life or the tax advocate. So far I have lost $5,400 and NO ONE will even speak to me for me to find out why! Will NEVER use turbotax again and will tell the entire world that will listen not to use them.
They scam you they have awful service and take more money than they should from you and do not refund what they over charge! Buncha scammers.
Turbotax SW couldn't solved the IRS rejection, it kept me reviewing my tax filing and "fixing" it, it had me resent it, but it kept being rejected. I tried TAXACT instead and it worked right away... but turbotax charged me anyways..
I used Turbo for years and when it came time for them to help me out with a tax issue they told me they couldn't help. On top of that Turbo has gotten ridiculously expensive and still charged me $289 for doing my taxes that the IRS kept because they wouldn't help me. I won't be back, bye traitors.
I started to rent out a room in my house last year, I made a very small profit off of doing so last year. When I had my taxes done with TurboTax the woman who did my Taxes told me how much I owed back in taxes I was a bit shocked and said "That's a whole paycheck". She then spent the rest of the call laughing about it. Terrible customer service. Never using them again.
I have used TurboTax desktop on my computer for years without a hitch. If they had continued with the desktop software it would get 5 stars. This year, unless I missed something, the only option was online. It was a scary experience, being presented and rejecting an option several times to allow them to distribute my tax information, and then when done, indicating that I had to agree or lose my $49 extra that I paid to itemize, even though I was unable to itemize for the first time in decades. I will never use TurboTax again!
2020 tax bill was sweet! However TurboTax set my 2021 quarterly es tax payments based on all the tax breaks! I seriously underpaid es tax by over $5000. I'm drained of my savings and maxed a credit card and feel this is really hard on my small business. This is bad and ya can't take anyone down at z TurboTax
Hi everyone, I used Turbo Tax because Tax Act tried to scam me by saying I could get my returns for free (and I definitely was eligible for the free return because of my low income that year) but then tried to charge me $144 at the end. Checked their reviews and many other people had the same thing happen to them. So don't use Tax Act. ANYWAYS. Turbo Tax came through and did not scam me, I got everything back for free and for that I am thankful. But when you come to the page where it asks if you'd rather take the "free" option or the "premium" whatever option for x amount of $, choose the free option even though it says "Not Now". It's deceiving. You will get your tax returns back for free at the very end don't let it fool you into choosing the option that charges you money. These goons got flamed by the IRS earlier this year (for doing exactly what Tax Act is doing) so they won't directly demand a fee at the end... but they'll still try. So be smart and don't let their confusing language shake your confidence while filing taxes!
They changed my account numbers and I never received my deposit, I called and they said I would get my refund but now by a check in the mail NEVER CAME... THEY ARE CRIMINALS...
I have been using Turbo Tax for 20 years. This year I could not download the updates. Tried to contact them but I needed my password which I forgot over the 20 years. Completed their form and sent my drivers license but they rejected me. No human to talk to-no live chat or even a way to send an email. Never again will I use them.
They are not there to help you, they slowly add fees and they make you go through a bunch of pages and other companies to simply get your own money. Not to mention how hard those other companies are to work with. Also they told me my refund was a couple thousand and then the IRS told me that they entered my information wrong and it was less than a couple hundred.
Been using Turbo Tax 10 years, this year force to go on-line which was major disappointment.
1) No idea what product cost would be until I filled everything out and ready to submit. Many on-line reviews warn of this. Had I been a new user I would avoid any product that tries this.
2) Can't view/fill directly government forms schedules as I go anymore. This is big downgrade. Used to government forms to fill out return, program does not show them any more. Numbers appeared and we had no idea where they came from. Can no longer skip back to specific form to check values. Had to keep circling back from "review" to T5, and R10 sections to review input.
3) Import incomplete on provincial T4 and Bank imports. Not sure whose fault this is: Turbo tax or Bank/Employer.
4) On line index missing many keywords. Eg: "Section 447" "Drug" "Prescription". Program makes reference to many terms that are not on index. Pretty shabby.
5) Could use currency conversion when filing in US stock slips.

Had to pay a 70.00$ up charge at the very last second! After doing all the work it would no let me hit "file" with out up-grading for 70 bucks more. Reason? Because my broker had sold 1 stock. It was sneaky and deceptive because this info was supplied to turbo tax from the very beginning of my return. It was just a classic money grab. Will not be using turbo tax again. Shame on you.

Answer: Very difficult to get, had to call numerous times to get a response and then there was no, let me help you with that. They were uncaring about my situation, I had to pursue questioning what they can do and would end up forwarding me to departments that did not respond.
Answer: They also charged me when they shouldn't have. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They are crooks.
Answer: Yea. You can download your DOCS and bring them in. In print them out and bring them in. Turbotax saves your completed documents each year.
