I too, like 1 of the other reviewers put myself in there but backed out when they wanted money. They claim to be free. SO Margaret M., I experienced same annoying notices, to get me to pay them. They use titillative notices so when you log on, they're in a box at the bottom of computer. I delete them. I wrote them to stop sending me this garbage, that they lie and have false advertizing. I too just wanted to see how it worked. They wrote me back and said they'd stop the 'boxed' notices but they're in here every day. Report them to the federal trade commission.
Their website tells you that the first search is free and then they try to charge you at the end. Cant believe they named this company TruthFinder. Apparently they have a different definition of the truth. Stay away from them. Better place to go.

Don't waste your money, didn't come up with anything I couldn't find for free online. Namely someone's address. Didn't get the DOB correct. I couldn't care less about their horoscope. Good Grief!

A few months ago, I made the mistake of looking up my own name to determine e hoe this site works and it's accuracy. I never followed through with any payments or requests because it cane across as a scam. Since the, I have unrelenting notifications abiut all kI ds of juicy information the site may have on me if I visit the site again... my life has not been that interesting! This site attempts to use sensatioanlism to try to attract peopLe back to their site and pay exorbitant fees fir misinformation. Avoid at all costs, it's a sxam!

Last summer i n 2016 i paid $29.95 for their service. When i got to the end in order to access the report i asked for i was told i would have to upgrade and pay more to access the report i requested. When i spoke with customer service they refused. My request for A REFUND. I PAID FOR. Access to information. I got no Access period. Their office is in San Diego. The. CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT IS A JOKE. There are other companies on line They charge a little more but you get unlimited background reports on as many people as you want. Cost $39.95 a month a nd it is easy to cancel.Name of that Company Checkmate.com. Some of the info maybe not quite up to date but most of it is otherwise correct. Any name living or dead and within a minute you wiil have a very extensive report. Goodluck online!

Checked a background on-myself and noticed to discrepancies, So I followed up with the State capitals mention in the background. They claim to not know me, or any such case pending. I reported this to Truthfinder and they asked me to (opt out) discontinue their use. A scam company with limited resources or unwilling to prove the information. They did not ask to refund my money also! Fake-Fake company- accepts any info and prints it. Assuming that NO one will follow up with a SLANDER suit. MISTAKE TRUTHFINDER! I will, or my son the FED will!

The report was did not include current address. Had more information available but I had to pay extra to get it... not revealed in the initial offering. Bait and Switch.

This site gives me information that is either not accurate or info that I dont need. I use my self and my friend as test and both of our results show a lot of discrepancy of the true result is. It is totally useless and I want a refund.

I have asked 10 times to remove me from notices I am receiving notices 5 times a day for no one I know. My advice is to never sign up. Totally bogus site

My name is Gary W. Smith. A common name. There are three of us in my area, but all have different middle initials. I found associated with my cell number on Truthfinder, a Gary S. Smith information. He has plead guilty to having child pornography.
I am retired from DoD and have turned a hobby into a side business. My cell number is the number I have on my business card. That number now shows the individual that has child pornography. I questioned Truthfinder and their response "We display the information we are given". No accountability on the part of this company.
If you wanted to have your golf clubs re-griped and looked up the number to see if I was reliable, would you do business with a person that plead guilty to child pornography?!?!?
Check your own number to verify it is correct and know when you are checking a phone number, chances are it won't be correct on Truthfinder.

After 20 to 30 minutes, paying the $27+ fee, finally the Report. Sort of! In order to actually see all of the stuff I would have to upgrade to a Premium account. I opted out, since I was searching my own name, but had to go through many more offers. So, I was angry before I even looked at the report. I declined their generous offer to download a pdf file for only $2.00.
Now, the actual report. I've lived at the same location for 50 yrs. But, they got that right in one place, wrong in another. Practically everything was wrong; e-mail address, phone numbers (same number for 50 yrs, too!), nothing in reoort is reliable. Well, they did say I'd never been arrested... that was true!
Then I decided to cancel. 15 minutes on phone waiting. Finally, figured out how to cancel on line!
A total waste of 3 hours today! Save yourself anger, disappointment, and $27 bucks!

Spent 30 minutes of my life that I will never get back navigating from page to page, confirmation after confirmation, to look at my own record (wanted to see driving record) just to find out at the last step that they want you to join and pay monthly installments to see the info they have. They had my age wrong as well... Don't waste your time!

My report was 50% accurate, 50% totally somebody else. You pay for a standard report. The standard report is extremely vague. It tells you nothing that you can't easily google for free. To get the information you want you have to pay over $17.00 for each additional report. I don't understand why people can't go out and make an honest living instead of sucking their income from people's bank accounts through internet scams.

Folks, look at all their horrible rating... 31 reviews and all 1 star... lowest rating can get... i wouldn't give them ANY STARS if I had the choice... they ripped me off, charged my card WITHOUT my knowledge after I'd paid once for a report which i never got... i've spent weeks trying to learn info, but they keep sending me BS messages, telling me I'm going to be shocked... then am asked 100 prompts, endless leading down the rabbit hole and nothing... still nothing... and now they keep hounding me AFTER I"VE TOLD THEM TO STOP CONTACTING ME... and I keep getting their crap several times a day... I'm going to get a lawyer to help get them stopped, then I will sue them for harassment big time harassment!
These guys are nothing more than scammers and instal malware onto your computer, gain access to your personal info... i was such a fool, but I needed to know about a girl we adopted years ago and we keep getting calls from private investigators and police, looking for her... i know she has numerous DUI's and theft charges, also facing more charges... I learned all this on my own and NOT one single thing from Truthfinders... NOTHING... LIE-minders!
HOW do I stop these people from sending me crap?
I've spent hours trying to get thru their endless/bogus prompts, questions, etc... same thing over and over... when i get to the end, expecting a report... they ask for MORE money... why?... they already have $50 and still nothing! Wow!

Do not use Truthfinder as it is a total waist of time and money. You can easily search Google yourself and get the information you need faster and for free. Also be careful with recurring charges for subscription. They will charge your CC every month for $27.80 until you cancel your subscription. I wish I had read these reviews before using truthfinder. Well, live and learn.

They make their money by selling your info and you end up receiving 50+ spam and junk emails per day. No way to end the cycle except change your email address.
