Discounts shown don't transfer to booking site, locations don't match actual hotel location, just lost deposit, actual location 50 miles from the city I was searching.

Company is a scam
March 7, 2017

Booked a room in Miami FL and received confirmation AFTER payment for a room in Jackson TN. Website Trivago sent me to had a no refund policy and now Im out 800.00. This Company should be sued along with the Elvoline. Com Company. They take peoples hard earned money for a trip and steal it from them. Anybody interested in a lawsuit?

Pathetic
March 7, 2017

Imagine my surprise when I booked a hotel room for Ocala, FL and received a confirmation for Moore, OK. Had I not carefully read the confirmation, I would never have noticed and would likely have been charged for a room I did not book.

This is an inexcusable mistake and renders Trivago a non-starter for me in the future.

Oaks on Collins
March 3, 2017

Hi to all especially people that are considering staying at oaks on Collins. I booked a room and was expecting a lot more, for starters you have to pay $64 for parking or $32 if you get a voucher, the car park roof is 2.1mtrs high so if you have a landcruiser don't bother, The room was another thing, I walked in went to put a Coldy in the fridge, the fridge was hot turned it up full, my wife went to use the toilet and said the seat was loose and dirty then could not believe 1ply toilet paper, the shower recess was a site the drain plug was broken and the silicone joints looked like a preschool kid finished it, the floor was dirty the curtains had hand prints and the flowers on the table were full of dust. I washed up and said to my wife well one night that's it.We went to the restaurant and there was only three couples including us so I thought this was good shouldn't take long, we sat down and were brought a glass of water and the menu, The menu is very plain so don't expect to much, 45+min later we received the garlic bread we ate it and it was good then waited, 20+min for our main meal still only the one glass of water, the waitress not even returning until we had finished, I wouldn't like to see the restaurant buisy, my wife couldn't believe it as she is a chef never again so be warned?

I booked three hotels via Trivago during the last two months. No complains! Fast and easy to book, best prices available and a top notch user surface. From my experience: Best hotel comparison website!

Vile
February 25, 2017

My first trip to New York could have been ruined by my stay in the Pennslyvania Hotel... But i chose not to let it dampen my spirits. This hotel has been... Well let's say massively photo shopped on sites including trivago. The Pennslyvania Hotel is filthy. Uncared for and inhabited by mice... and not of the Disney kind... The rooms are in a word. Grim. They smell... Are unloved and in need of a major face lift oh and up to date electric sockets would have been helpful... I had none... The staff with the exception of Maria B... were not helpful. In fact they were dismissive and rude. So. Unless you are doing a programme on fixer ups. (I personally would demolish the place) book somewhere else... Once bitten (literally) never again

This is the first time i book with trivago. And was very disappointed. Last year i book a 5 days hotel in bali. When i arrived to check in. The hotel staff say my voucher in not valid due to hoteling.com that i book in trivago is in finance problem. And i have to spend another $700 to book another hotel. Iam very disappointed with trivago and will never book any hotel room with them again.

From when a 3 start hotel like Monte Carlo Vaughan was $351? But Trivago offers it for $116. That is the regular price and through Trivago should be cheaper.

Only after the booking is complete will you learn that there is an additional "resort fee" on "the total price" quoted. At the same time, you learn that if you cancel, you will be charged a $40 cancellation fee.
The total price quoted was $125. The actual charge on my credit was $164. Cancellation would have cost me $40.
This is definitely illegal, but I don't have the energy to fight over $39.

The last two times that I have used Trivago to look for hotels in two different cities I have been directed to a different hotel than the one that I want to look at. I cannot make it send me to the correct hotel. When I check the hotel site on a different location the price is not the same as listed on the Trivago site but since I can't get to the hotel listed it has to be showing the wrong price. I will no longer use this site.

Such bastards
February 11, 2017

I had booked a hotel from trivago on 11th feb 2017 in indore city. While the site claimed that it would charge me around 4700 rs it actually charged me 6100rs. Next, i had only RESERVED the room and not finalised it. The site went on to confirm the booking and debited the money without my consent.
I am writing this on every blog i can find about trivago so that you do not continue to cheat people.

DO NOT USE TRIVAGO
February 6, 2017

Booked a hotel through Prestigia on Trivago. Had a medical emergency and there was no one to talk to at Trivago. There is no customer service contact information except an email that takes days to hear from, still waiting. The hotel cancelled the reservation without a problem, provided the cancellation number to Prestigia, but Prestigia will not cancel because it says its "partner" will not allow it. Countless emails with Prestigia, and they will not reveal who the "partner" is. Save yourself aggravation... DO NOT USE TRIVAGO

Over-rated

Trivago might find you the best price but what about best property? Or even acceptable property. Booked a hotel with them to find a rat in the hallway the next morning. I would suggest you distance yourself from Trivago.

Dear Trivago,
I used your website to try to book a room for my wife and daughter for the night of 01/21/2017. Your site showed Otel.com with the cheapest fair for that night, so I booked through them, and they sent a voucher for the night of 02/12/2017 instead of 01/21/2017. I tried to contact them by phone and email, but their phone in Istanbul went unanswered and there was no way to email them.
I re-booked for the correct evening on Hotels.com, and everything went smooth with that. I also cancelled the reservation with Otel.com on their website and received their confirmation that the room was cancelled (Tracking Number *******) well within their cancellation timeline to receive a complete refund. To date however, I have not received said refund of $153.06 USD.
I have since done research on Otel.com, and they seem to have a habit of ripping off customers. I will contact my bank to see if I can get my money clawed back through VISA. Also, since Trivago sees fit to let scam artists like Otel.com troll their website looking for people to rip off, I have crossed Trivago off of my list of travel websites and will never use you again.
Sincerely,
Andy Bauman

My husband and I travel quite a bit and use this app to help find reasonable hotels that take pets. It seems that half the time we find a hotel on the app that says they are pet friendly but get to the hotel and they say they are not. I had one today tell me that they haven't accepted pets for over three years. I woulda really like to see some updates done to this app. It really is helpful just wish it was more accurate. We have also had a few issues with the hotel not wanting to match the price seen on the app but that has only happened a few times. Most generally they will honor it.
