TravelUp Reviews Summary

The company demonstrates a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in the ease of the booking process and competitive pricing, which many customers found straightforward and efficient. However, significant concerns arise around customer service, particularly regarding unresponsive support, issues with reservation confirmations, and difficulties in modifying bookings. Instances of billing discrepancies and perceived bait-and-switch tactics have contributed to a growing sentiment of frustration among users. While some customers report positive interactions with staff, the overall trend indicates a need for improved communication and reliability to enhance customer trust and satisfaction.

I booked my British airways flights via Travelup and found out with the Covid 19 British Airways was cancelling all trips to New York.
I went onto my mange my booking on the British Aiways web site and there was my flights showing they were cancelled, so I wrote several emails to Travelup but no response!
I then telephoned them no answer one ring and then cut off!
Then I checked my Manage My Booking on the BA website and guess what the flights now no longer exist.
Travelup have obviously had the refund back from British Airways and given they are not replying to emails or answering phone calls I can only wonder where the money I paid for flights is now.
Having read the other complaint web sites there are many many people getting very angry with Travelup

Terrible
April 1, 2020

No contacts from these people till the day of departure. Booked flights and been given only one option to take credit and on top pay extra taxes and fare difference at later date! Terrible company stay well away! When asked for refund was only offered a £78 refund for a booking of £707.42, when its not even our fault for not being able to travel.

With all of the Covid-19 going on in the US, me and my family canceled our trip to Vegas. Mind you our hotel is closed until further notice and the company refuses to give us all of our money back. It's a shame.

I booked hotel through TravelUp 5 months ago for my family vacation, totally 2 rooms for 6 people, and also bought the cancellation insurance just in case. When I called them to cancel my reservation due to medical reason, they told me I am not qualified to cancel. If I really cancel it, they will charge me $20 per person, compared with other agencies $15 per room, TravelUp is robbing the customers. Be careful, please stay away from TravelUp and choose other reasonable agencies.

Never Again!
March 18, 2020

After several days of phone calls and emails I finally got through to Travelup and spoke to Kamran who is apparently dealing with my case advised that I cannot get a refund and can only reschedule which was a lie. Kamran claimed he was sat with a customer and promised he will call back soon as he is done. He must be having one long conversation because it's been 21 hours and I'm still waiting. I spoke with Emirates they have cancelled my ticket and advised the agency will refund me without charge.

Like I mentioned in my tweet if I was a betting man I would put my money on getting through to my Grandma quicker than Travelup on the phone and she passed away over 5 years ago. Travelup seen as you guys love your # please change your Profile/Bio on twitter from #ZeroFaff to #100%Faff and add another 2 #RipOff and #Fraudsters. You should keep #UpYours it's the perfect # for Travelup.

Travelup are nothing short of scammers! Do not use them! Read any of the reviews being posted and you will see that they both keep refunded money and also if you get flights cheaply will then start to up the costs until you are worse of. If anything should go wrong like it is now with Covid-19 and you have a cancelled holiday, you will either not get a refund at all, or just a tiny proportion of it to shut you up all of this will take months and months. You will see if you go on any review sites particularly at the moment as holidays are being cancelled no one is picking up the phone, they cut you off, they steal your refund from you! The best thing to come out of the coronavirus crisis is that these scammers go bankrupt!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I am honestly very disappointed with this company and feel completely let down that skyscanner let these scammers gain customers via themselves. Me and my partner booked to go to Italy and obviously coronavirus has prevented us from going. We are now 3 days away from the departure date and have had no communication about a refund that we are entitled too. After spending hours on their phone lines at a premium rate may I add, racking up bills of over £40 just to try and speak to someone. Sending countless emails without a response and communicating with them via twitter to be fed more lies and false promises. After 3 hrs on the phone and getting cut off, I was very unhappy. When finally getting through on the phone, having someone being so blatantly rude to you and not wanting to listen to anything, wasn't the customer service I would expect for anyone. I got told I'd be called back, didn't happen. I got told I'd be priority in emails... how they can promise that I don't know but again hasn't happened. We will never ever use this company again and advise everyone against using them unless you want the stress and upset of not getting a refund, having no help or any form of customer service.

Awful
March 15, 2020

The airline Royal Air Maroc cancelled my flight due to covid 19. I booked through Travel Up. They are keeping £60 as an admin fee and quoting 8 weeks to process a refund. What admin costs do they have processing a refund? £5 max but they are choosing to rob customers. Avoid these scam artists

Booked cheap flights through this company to Thailand Saudi and Dubai. Due to coronavirus travel bans in place. Emailed, called this company and also tweeted. Highlighted travel dates. No response. Would have been stranded in thailand if it wasnt for Emirates helping. These guys also cancelled my flight to saudi without any contact or offers of other reporting options. Absolute joke of a company. Do not book through this company. You will regret it. Made my holiday very stressful

Currently in the midst of a GLOBAL PANDEMIC where non-essential travel is discouraged. Had trip across U.S. planned and purchased "travel insurance" with "cancel for any reason" up to 24 hours BEFORE check-in. I tried to cancel on-line within the time frame, but the website gave me a different date than the company email. I then sent a "message" and tried to wait for response to my email and... NOTHING. I then contacted them by phone and the rep said "non-refundable" to which my response was "you do realize we are in the middle of a global pandemic". The rep said "let me put you on hold and see what we can do" and then they HUNG UP ON ME. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE customer service. What kind of ethics do you, as a company, have if you do this to customers in a public health crisis? I will NEVER use this company again.

I booked a prepaid hotel in Miami, Florida for $300 USD. Then the Coronavirus hit and now President Trump suspended all flights from Czech Republic to the US, so I cannot enter the country. I emailed and called Travelup and they said, "your room rate was non-refundable and non-changeable. So, I; m out $300 USD for something I had no control over. Technically they are right. But what about some understanding and/or empathy for the worst crisis to hit the planet in decades. Instead Travelup will make a ton of money of people having to cancel their trips. What's worse is that the Hotel was willing to refund my money, but Travelup won't cooperate. I cannot believe that Trip Advisory is allowing them to list on their website!
