Tried to get help with my booking due to a medical issue and was shocked by how rude the customer service was. The agent, Sam, showed zero empathy, kept repeating how many times I called, and even hung up on me. I'm already under stress and losing money, and this treatment made it worse. Very disappointed – I hope others aren't treated the same way.

I think it's bull$#*! to sell a room to someone and not be able to give them a refund when they try to cancel the reservation the same day. What if someone makes a mistake like booking a room a week away when they needed it for that night? Like I did. Complete scam is what I think. Now I'm stuck with a reservation for next year sometime that who knows if I'll be able to use cause now it's to where I can't even change the date. So my opinion is this site is a scam.

At TravelUp, we want all our customers to have a seamless and stress-free experience, and we’re very sorry that this situation caused you inconvenience and disappointment.

We’d like to clarify that many of the deals we offer are heavily discounted bundle rates, which are often more competitive than other platforms. However, these special rates come with strict terms and conditions set by our suppliers and hotel partners. Unfortunately, they do not allow us any flexibility for free cancellations or changes—even within the same day of booking.

To help avoid such situations, we always send a booking confirmation screen before finalising the reservation. This gives customers the opportunity to review all details, including dates, before providing final consent. In your case, the booking was confirmed after this step, and we proceeded based on the information and approval provided.

That said, we genuinely regret that this process didn’t work out as intended for you. Your feedback is important, and we’ll continue working to make our policies clearer and our platform more user-friendly.

I found out by visiting my bank/VISA website that the price quoted was in US dollars but no where during the booking process and confirmation does TravelUP display the currency being quoted. I was assuming it was Canadian dollars - not US dollars - making the price significantly higher than anticipated.

The guy who working at the desk at baymont was rude and disrespectful. I was never notified of a $100 deposit I just paid $195 for the two nights then he wasn't gonna refund me my money I didn't have the $100 for the deposit had to borrow $100 from a friend to pay for it so I didn't lose my money

Horrendous experience

I am extremely dissatisfied with this travel agency's customer service. My flight, scheduled for May 17th, was cancelled, and I was not notified by either the agency or the airline. As a result, I had to rebook another flight and make last-minute travel arrangements at my own expense. Despite multiple requests, I still have not received my refund as of August 1st. The agency is trying to withhold nearly 44% of the total ticket cost, which is completely unacceptable since the cancellation was not my fault. On top of that, their customer service has been unresponsive, unhelpful, and unwilling to take responsibility. This has been a frustrating and costly experience, and I would strongly advise others to avoid booking through this agency.

According to our records, your flight was cancelled due to a schedule change initiated by the airline after you had already checked in. Once a passenger checks in, the airline assumes full control of the booking, and unfortunately, we as a travel agency are no longer permitted to intervene or make changes. This also means that any notifications regarding cancellations or changes are the responsibility of the airline at that stage.

Regarding the refund, we understand your concern about the amount withheld. However, as clearly stated in the terms and conditions you agreed to at the time of booking, an administration fee is applicable for processing refunds, and the booking fee is non-refundable. These policies are standard across the industry and are in place to cover operational costs. We assure you that we are not withholding any amount unfairly, and everything has been processed in line with the agreed terms.

We’re genuinely sorry that your experience didn’t meet expectations, and we regret that our customer service did not provide the support you needed during this time. Your feedback has been shared with our team to help us improve our responsiveness and communication moving forward.
