I received my resume back suspiciously quick. The resume writer simply reformatted what I had and just about used the same text from my original resume. Any new text had plenty of typos. There was also no real familiarity with my field, despite their promise that I would be paired with an "executive writer" in the "top 10% of our network" with knowledge of my industry. This site seems like a resume mill using shortcuts to churn out resumes as quickly as possible. Do yourself a favor and don't use.

I found the services provided by TopResume to be helpful to me. Do know that the services are ala carte and a bit pricey. Your total cost can add up quickly; this is at a time when many people can least afford the expenditure. Personally, I was willing to make the investment for a suite of documents that get me the notice of hiring managers using screening software. Do be prepared to know how you wish to be presented. Effective results will rely upon your input and collaboration; you'll have a little bit of homework to do in the process. I would have given TopResume a fifth star had their pricing not been quite so expensive and ala carte (as an analogy, think of your experience booking a flight with a budget airline) and if my final documents also had a bit more graphic polish and 'pop'.

First they ask to be paid, and after the first draft they leave 7 days for comments and corrections.
But at this point they disappear and no longer respond, and the CV remains so incomplete and wrong.

Cut and paste + plagiarism + excuses = Fake Resume
I had high hopes for this company based on the abundance of positive reviews on Trustpilot. However, those reviews must be paid for, fake, or from people who just don't know better. I purchased the top tier package (Executive Priority Resume) which is supposed to be completed by the top 10% of the company's writer network. Things started out on the right track when a writer was assigned the same day and that writer quickly delivered the first draft within 24 hours. Unfortunately, this was the only positive experience I had with them. The resume they sent me was simply a reformat of what I sent them to use to draw from with some added fluff. They literally cut and pasted sections of my original work and then plagiarized some fluff from various LinkedIn profiles. The cover letter they wrote was even worse! The entire cover letter was plagiarized from LinkedIn profiles with a few bullet points included that were cut from my original resume and did not make sense. There were grammatical errors throughout the resume and cover letter and neither was an improvement from the originals I submitted. The first draft was refused and suggestions were given for improvement. The writer assured me he would rewrite it and do it quickly. Almost 6 days later I received the second draft back of the resume only, nothing had changed except for one bullet point. Upon receipt of this second draft, I reached out to the customer service number directly. I spoke to a gentleman who tried to explain away the plagiarism and assure me that a second writer would solve the problem. This writer would be a senior writer and would work with me until I was satisfied. Apparently, the original writer I was given was not in the top 10% of their network although that is what I paid for. After some back and forth I reluctantly agreed to wait for the second writer and gave TopResume 48 hours to find the writer that was a good match for my industry, career level and language. TopResume missed the mark and just kept coming up with excuses about why it was going to take longer and longer to find a writer. They refused to refund my money, they stole other people's intellectual property, fraudulently created a fake resume and cover letter with fake qualifications, and never delivered the LinkedIn profile update. Their writers are not as experienced as they claim. They are not an ethical company and need to be shut down. I do not recommend them even for an entry-level resume. If you have worked with them in the past, take your resume and run it through a free plagiarism checker online and see for yourself. Don't be fooled by them, the good reviews are fake, and the bad ones are the real reviews. DO NOT USE THIS FAKE RESUME-WRITING COMPANY

This company is so good at covering its tracks about what a scam it it, it is mind boggling. Online, everywhere seemed to say this company was the best service for a reasonable cost versus many others were close to $1,000. What is too good to be true is, as it turns out. I spent $300 on their highest package primarily because I want to refresh my LinkedIn to make more connections in my industry but they sucker you into a resume too, fine, package deals are normal I work in SaaS I get it. However, after I bought the package, I was sent a link to answer a questionnaire because I could not fill it out at that exact time. I came back to use the link, it didn't work. It kept rerouting me to purchase more products or the SAME products. It also said I was signed in to an account I never created, and when I tried to "reset the password" nothing happened. I reached out to customer service to find out how to fix all this and access the questionnaire and I was told my order was "refunded" because it was flagged as fraud by their credit card processor. Um… why is it marked as processing in my account then? I responded in kind and received the exact same canned response that it was fraud and they knew because they could see my account (the one I never created). And that was that, no solutions, no options, no apologies just eh fraud, see ya! I contacted my credit card company, and they said I have to contact these people to get a proper refund as I did actually click the button even if I didn't get the service. So now I'm out $300 and didn't get a thing! And I'm searching places to review these people I discovered they have been buying fake reviews and lists and SEO optimization to cover up the thousands of bad reviews they are getting elsewhere never mind the HUNDREDS of complaints with the Better Business Bureau. Absolutely despicable. Clearly there is fraud going on here, but it's not from my credit card.

SLOW. NOT GOOD. DON'T USE THIS. I'm really unhappy with the process and outcome. I paid for the top level package.

I'm changing careers and needed help summarizing and narrowing nearly 30 years of experience. There is really nothing in what I received with any personal or creative summarization. It's very boilerplate and feels "cut and paste." The formatting (though somewhat subjective) was barely acceptable for a modern marketplace.

I paid extra for a 48 hour turnaround. I received no documents at the 48 hour mark. The portal said I'd receive documents Dec 15th. That would have given me time to think through changes and edits before the call. I emailed my writer to see when I would receive the documents and heard nothing.

I received the documents five minutes prior to the scheduled call. This made the call totally ineffective. I was not able to provide direction to the writer. There was virtually no benefit to this call.

They matched me with me with a writer who is young, off-shore, and inefficient.

I emailed customer service and it took two days to hear back from them. Very disappointing.

I trusted that these "resume experts" would help tailor my resume to get more interviews. Come to find out, I have more interviews with my own resume and not one single interview with their resume. Took forever to hear back from the people I was working with and had many resumes redone and still no interviews. Glad this service worked for some but I guess not for all.

I want to warn everyone away from this service. They were so slow to help and then refused to offer any sort of refund for their mistakes.
I signed up and paid for their largest package. Immediately I was met with technical issues where I couldn't submit my questionnaire. I emailed, waited, nothing. Emailed again and again. It took four days to have a response from their company, and by the way, they stated the glitch was ON THEIR END. Next, I was supposed to be able to set up an online portal to communicate with the writer and set up a phone call (something I paid extra for). There was ANOTHER technical glitch where again, I couldn't create a portal. I emailed, and waited for a reply for several days. Eventually I had to nudge their social media profiles to get a response. That shouldn't happen.
By this time the chance to do a phone call with my writer before the draft had passed. I wrote and requested a refund for the missed opportunity and they dodged it and told me I could just do one later. (What a considerate company!)
I then got the first draft of my resume and cover letter and was shocked. My largest credits were buried with older and smaller credits above them, job descriptions from one job had been erroneously moved to another, my cover letter included a lot of focus on a job I had done 12 years before.
I emailed TopResume highlighting all THREE bad experiences I had had with them, and asked for a full refund. It took TopResume FOUR DAYS to respond, and when they did respond they ignored two of the instances, reframing their response as if I was just mad over a resume I didn't like versus the three compounding experiences of bad service. It felt like I was being gaslit.
They refused to give me a refund, so I'm giving them a review. :)
