I've email back 3 times, NO ONE will respond to me.

My writer was very nice and did a good job in transforming my resume and cover letter. He met the initial deadline and did not take too long to do the revisions. However, the vocabulary and terms used in my documents exaggerated my experience, which I thought was too much. I did not like how much they "inflated" my resume with pompous phrases even if it did look nice. 3 months later, I still did not get any interviews so I contacted TopResume and they did a free rewrite for me. Again, the writer was nice but they pumped up my resume way more than I was comfortable with. I had to edit it again myself to make it more realistic. Now, I am waiting for the interviews to come in. I would not take up this service again for as much money as I paid for it.

It was great to have TopResume assist me with my resume, cover letters and Linked-In presence. They were able to take an impartial view of my
Resume that I have reworked several times and with the assistance of other resume writers. I am an older worker so there are a lot of years to cover and need to "speak" in a way that folks would respond to. I have had some "bites" and have been asked to serve on a board. Networking, such as Linked-In can get you connected with other professionals. I know it can be frustrating to look for work, but I do feel I have put my best foot forward even at the ancient age of 63. We live in a college town so am realistic about the job search. Never the less I feel TopResume helped considerably.

I used this service and even bought additional services to spread my resume easily to other sites. Let's tackle first the writing of the resume. They took my original resume and changed it from past tense to present but for the most part it was the original that I wrote. They also removed items to crunch it to one page. These are things they recommended in their analytics. Next the "top" sites to send my resume to per TopResume are really not the top or best sites. It was easy though to upload to all those non-value added sites which cost an additional $300. So not worth the money. Now on the resume itself. I put it back through to TopResume to see what they would come back with. Surely since they wrote it it should come back that nothing needed to be done to it. It should be perfect, right? Well TopResume' analytics came back saying almost exactly the same thing as it said the first time I sent my un-doctored resume to them. So all in all not worth the money. DO NOT SPEND your money here.

This companies' fees are extremely high to receive cookie cutter results.
They ask questions based on your experience, achievements, career goals, and expectations for soliciting their business then the "writer" proceeds to utilize your exact responses onto a pre-formatted resume. The guarantee that your resume is a success is a joke, the re-write produce the exact same resume (in another pre-formatted version). The second resume not producing any results, guarantees you've just wasted your time and money with these seemingly computerized results. DON'T BOTHER; find a less expensive alternative or just GOOGLE resumes for your target job and duplicate it; seems TOP RESUME got paid for doing exactly this! $400 out of my pocket for a resume that is floating around on the internet!

I submitted my resume for their free critique. Their suggestions seemed appropriate. I paid for their premium service. I didn't get the two-day turn-around I was promised; I got excuses. The first draft was horrible. In fact, the first draft didn't reflect any of the suggestions from their own critique! The writer promised an immediate response which didn't happen. I had to prod to get a response. Their results seemed rushed and never seemed to incorporate any of the suggestions in their initial critique. Again, more excuses. The Linkedin profile they wrote seemed to be generated by software and, was extremely elementary. I provided them with very detailed feedback, was once again promised "better results" and waited, once again. After two weeks, without a response, and well beyond the writer's commitment date, I requested a full and immediate refund. To their credit, my money was refunded. I would not recommend this service to anyone. I would pay more for a much better result.

I started out the process by completing their questioner that asked about my experience and expectations for my resume.

The first draft came and it was like the writer did not even look at my questioner. The writer used none of the information I supplied him with and did not even change any of the wording from my original resume. All he did was add a summary and change the formatting. I email the writer back about my dissatisfaction and he wrote back and said he would fix it.

I received the second draft which was even worse than the first! I had marked the first draft with a bunch of revisions in which he ignored. All the writer did was delete duties for two of my positions to make it shorter. Did I forgot to say that my original resume was less than one page and some how with the horrible formatting used it was almost two. Of course the writer sent the revision right before my revision period was over, so I did not have a chance to reply.

If you are going to spend money on getting your resume redesigned I would highly recommend using another service.

I took advantage of their free resume review, now I am being spammed by this company and every other job posting company on the internet. I receive dozens of emails a day from job searching sites I have never heard of before. Nothing is for free. They made money by selling my email address. I have been unsubscribing for days, and even after unsubscribing, I still receive emails from some of the same companies. YOU PEOPLE ARE FRAUDS!.

I agreed with some of the initial points from their "free critique" and so I thought the service might be legit. Nope. They copied-and-pasted job descriptions from some unknown source. They put random skills and responsibilities that had NOTHING to do with my skills and experience. It looks like they keyword-searched either my employer or the position titles and filled in random descriptions. They removed large sections of my resume (such as "software skills") with no explanation. They changed my resume from one that "need improvement" to one that is literally useless and would be fraudulent to use. I now see that there are MANY, MANY people voicing similar complaints.

Top Resume sends out boilerplate responses to make people think their resume is no good regardless of its actual quality. Once you pay for the service, they send you a template resume filled with cliches "Developed. The only advantage of TR is that it is somewhat ATS optimized. They are unable, as they suggest on their website, to develop industryspecific resumes, and instead relay on standard resume tropes,"Develop strong working relationships with local organizations," is one of their favorites. The e-mail they send you seems to be either computer generated, or copied and pasted from some Top Resume script that their employees have on hand. As soon as you receive the initial follow up e-mail from "Katie Warren" or whatever generic name that cannot be verified by Google, Linkedin, Facebook, etc., there seems to be something suspicious. Open a critique of any two resumes and compare the critiques you receive, almost identical... This place is a scam, from their boilerplate critiques and template e-mails, fake employees, creepily satisfied customers (on every review site? Yeah right), stock website and stock advertisements... This place is a joke from beginning to end.

When using the resume I created, I had multiple interviews. However, they weren't the ideal positions. I had Top Resume rewrite my resume and cover letter. I am horrible at writing cover letters. The cover letter was as generic as possible. Save the $80 and copy and paste one online, as that is what mine looked like anyway. As for the resume itself, I sent my job description to see if they could help with the wording and pointing out what was important. However, they just copied what I had and added a few words here and there. The summary looked like it was copy and pasted. It was extremely cliché and did not read well. The template was ok. A little cluttered, but I figured they knew what they were doing. After 3 months of applying to every jobs imaginable, I did not get one interview using their resume. I asked for a re-write since that was not only included but part of the guarantee. Their idea of a "rewrite" is putting it in a new template. I could have done that myself. I was under the impression that rewrite meant re-wording to gain more/different attention. I voiced my frustration and it didn't help. I was told they couldn't rewrite it.

My advice: save your money and just copy other resumes online. That's basically what they did.

I am really appalled by so many positive reviews. I sent my resume and when I got my resume with my name incorrect with tons of spelling mistakes. When I asked the writer the reason she is saying it is just rough draft. It is total waste of money. It is a scam. Please stay away from this service.

Just had my resume revamped by TopResume and am excited to see what the response from recruiters will be. My particular writer was easy to work with and knowledgeable about my field.

A couple of months later, the resume did not help me at all and a few recruiters actually criticized the creative format. $100 seemingly down the drain...

Stay away. If you have a resume right now, it is likely much better than you will ever get from them.
1) You are promised communications from the writer to understand your field -- nothing like that. You send your answers to the form and you get a jumbled version of your original resume. It is full of typos, out of context and sentences that mean nothing.
2) Promised writers in your industry. These writers are not in any industry, and not even in the U.S. Non of them have a last name on the signature line, Their English and wording is either not their native language or is from a different country. Example. After being blown away by how ridiculous the first draft was, I complained and received this answer: "We appreciate your escalation, as we do want to ensure you're solely receiving the highest caliber of service with our development process. While our services are non-refundable, we do want to propose an alternative to better meeting your specifications moving forward.

We've reassigned you with one of our senior-most writers on staff, transferred the entirety of your order (including communication), and generally ensured that they were as aware as possible regarding the specific requirements of this order. The net result we are seeking is a project that is wholly reflective of your specifications while maintaining a great balance in terms of market performance." Signed Sean (no last name).

The next writer was not any better.

It appears to be a computer generated, or at least computer-driven system. They do send you everything perfectly on time, but its a bunch of junk. It seems that it is up to you to correct them back and fourth until you either give up, or they get close to the target. If your resume is half way decent now, it will only get worse and will cost you lots of time and money.

I can go on and on, but need need to go work on my resume and get it right with a local writer who is an actual human being and has a phone, knowledge, good intentions and pride in the work.

Shame on Glassdoor for being affiliated with this service.

I ordered the 24 hour turn around package mainly for the extra features, linked in updates and even bought an added 75.00 package for listing my resume.

After days of waiting for my resume I sent a cancellation and waited to hear back. 3 days later I got an email containing a new resume that was closer to complete but among other problems now had my city misspelled.

I let them know I had already cancelled and they offered 75.00 back, I had paid almost 300. The cheaper service was 100 I offered to compromise at that since they still had not finished the job. They refused.

I am now leaving feedback and starting a dispute with my credit card as well as legally.

This company obviously can't follow through with it's commitments but thinks it can just push clients over.
