Top Resume was referred by a friend, as there are so many companies to choose from and I didn't know where to begin. I initially selected the lowest package assuming I could add on if I wanted to, and I was correct.

The explanation was very clear about what was included. It never mentioned a cover page so I am not sure why another reviewer was upset that they offered a cover page later on for another service. This is a business and they are not just here to serve us, they actually employ people and need to make money.

In any case my experience with Armand was wonderful. He was assigned my resume within a few hours and was immediately in contact with me. We went through several drafts and he was always very responsive to my queries and comments. I did eventually select to add on the LinkedIn profile as well, and was equally happy with both end results. The LinkedIn profile truly was a duplication of the resume with a few suggestions and nuances that I would not have thought of. So, in my opinion, worth the extra purchase.

A few tips:

When you submit your resume, be ready to interact frequently in a short period of time. There is a week's time to complete all drafts and you need to participate in the process.

Be honest in your critiquing and ask any question you have, if you do not approve of something or understand it, they will change it or explain it. This is your representation of you. This is your first impression. You need to love it, and they will ensure that you do.

There are plenty of organizations out there doing the same thing. I can only share my experience with Top Resume and it was an excellent experience and I would highly recommend them and happily do business with them again.

I was given the exact finished product I had in my head. Jennifer was patient and insightful in response to my various queries. I could not have asked for a better resume to give my career the kick it needs.

I found out about TopResume through a professional association website. I signed up for their promotional free resume review and submitted my CV. I was shocked when I heard back from one of their writers with pretty substantial critiques about my resume! After I got over my perfectionist tendencies, however, I realized that this was constructive criticism, namely pointing out that my resume was sharing what I did and where I've been, but not what I accomplished and my special talents. So, I went ahead and purchased the writing service, eventually adding on the cover letter for an extra fee. I am very happy with the final result of the resume! I've only been sending it out starting last week, but it already got the attention of a staffing agency in my city that is bringing me in for an interview this afternoon! With that, the process could have been a bit more smooth. First off, I am not sure how big (or small) the staff at TopResume is, but I felt that on more than one occasion I didn't hear back on updates as quickly as I'd like. Not about draft revisions, which take time, but just quick yes/no answers to questions like "did you get the files I sent you?". Second, there was a seven day revision window, which is fine, but at the tail end of it I got confused about whether I'd be hearing from the writer one more time or not. Aside from these small communication bumps, my money was well spent and after sharing my resume with friends in the HR field they too felt that my new resume was much more powerful than my original. I also really liked that they provide it in editable MS word form so that you can make changes as you see fit at any time. Overall really glad I did this. In fact, my first resume submitted was for finance (my primary career path), and I've re-hired TopResume to create a second new resume for me, focusing on my education/publishing background (wrote a book in my field that led to guest lecturing, etc.). So I am looking forward to seeing how things go. Definitely recommend the service, just be a bit patient with the timing/flow!

I chose TopResume because they had good reviews and their price point was cheaper than the other services that I considered. The truth is that they don't list all of the included services until you buy in with the big bill and then they let you know that if you want a thank you letter, cover letter and linked in profile help it will be extra. Those are included in the transparent overall price on other sites so the cost winds up being the same but they trick you into believing it will be cheaper.

The resume writer was slow to produce everything, unresponsive at times and clearly has no understanding of corporate finance. They only provide two drafts and she wrote the first without even speaking to me so it was kind of a waste because she did not have the materials that i could have given her and she did not understand the direction I wanted to go in. Once I gave her feedback she waited until the last minute to deliver the final version which then I could not ask for revisions on.

The cover letter and thank you letter are stock and they really do not do much to personalize it for you. When I pointed out some issues with how it presented me they never fixed them.

Altogether I could have done a much better job if I had had the time. I believe there are resume writers out there with better service but I would not recommend TopResume to anyone.

It was by chance that I came across the TOP Resume site and I initially submitted my resume for their assessment thinking that I would not score a mention. However to my complete surprise TOP Resume responded with a very thorough assessment of my resume pointing out clearly the areas of concern. At that point I decided to have TOP Resume do up my resume and the result is worth the money I spent. I have not yet scored a job, however I am convinced that it won't be long till I do.

I'm in my mid-fifties and seem to have hit a brick wall in my career. I tried doing what I have always done- the DIY approach to career building. Old School feels right to me, but the market and search methods are light years ahead of my abilities. Enter TopResume- they took my old resume and re-framed me in a whole new light. I was very skeptical about paying someone to look at my resume. However, after deciding to do it... it was the best decision I've made for my career path.
