I was very excited when I saw the results of the free review - it was apparent that a very experienced person(s) reviewed my resume. As a result, I signed up for the 2 cover letters & resume package. I liked the first draft of the resume but upon closer review, have a lot of misgivings. The writer primarily used the past perfect tense which makes the resume wordy and awkward. Visually, it looks bland and uninteresting. The writer was pleasant but I don't think she had enough experience in my chosen field. The cover letters were fine until I looked more closely and saw the same issues regarding the use of past perfect tense. Maybe I'm wrong and the new resume will generate interviews over the next 60 days, otherwise I will be refunded, per their guarantee.

Actually I did contract the services from TopResume and I am extremely disappointed. First of all, it was almost exactly like my current resume. Except theirs had typos! They also claim to offer a new Linkedin profile. However all they offer is tips and techniques to improve your profile which is already available on-line at no cost. I attempted to voice my concerns but were met simply defending their services with virtually no consideration to make it right. I can not recommend this service and I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere for this service.

Originally, I decided to write a resume myself and just for fun I submitted it to TopResume through Monster's complimentary review offer. I was surprised when the response suggested a full rewrite. However, I found out almost immediately that something was not quite working with my own resume when offers for interviews came from completely unrelated fields and sites were matching me with jobs that required far more experience than I currently have.

I realized that I did in fact need a rewrite to fix these problems. I decided to buy TopResume's resume and cover letter package. I was matched with Alana J. The next day after I completed the questionnaire. That same day, I received my new resume and a cover letter. I was astonished with how professional it looked and even commented to Alana in my revision email that I couldn't believe I had learned and accomplished all of those things.

I find it difficult as many other people do to brag about myself, and this often results in underselling skills and experiences. So as someone just starting a career with little resume writing experience, having a professional assist with that process is definitely worth every penny.

I am in the midst of figuring out a career change, so one thing I decided to do was to fix my resume. I was directed to the TopResume site, and saw the offer for free resume critique(which was a no brainer and great perk.) I was very pleased off top as to how detailed the resume critique was. As I concluded reading the changes, the offer to pay for a personal resume writer to make changes to your resume showed. Once I saw the price, I thought that there was no way that I was going to use that service. Especially with the details on the changes that should be made to make my resume better already at hand. As I attempted to make the changes, it was a lot more difficult then first expected. I thought over a bunch of times at this point if just paying the fee was worth it, and just decided to go for it. Even after I made the payment, I had almost complete doubts that it wouldn't be worth it. Once I got my first resume draft back, which I needed no revisions, I was honestly in awe. Changing the format, the verbiage and other wording to have a professional resume based off of the information that I already presented was fascinating. I would recommend this service 15 times out of 10.

I recently retired from the United States Air Force after serving my country for 20 years. At some point, all military personnel will transition into the civilian workforce and it takes finesse to translate our military skills and abilities in a way that hiring managers can understand and "appreciate". During the mandatory transition courses we are required to take we do cover resume writing, but I still found the task a bit overwhelming and welcomed the assistance from TopResume!

My resume was written in a passive versus active voice and I did cram too much information into the resume which could have been a negative factor.

Over the week long process I actually had time to reflect about my next career path and I realized the resume I originally submitted included positions I no longer had a passion for. My Resume Writer helped me settle on a new career path that I actually wanted to pursue and I was able to submit my "new and improved" resume YESTERDAY when I saw a listing that matched my goals and skills. I heard back from the hiring manager TODAY and I am confident that my new resume will stand out.

I am very satisfied with my updated resume and cover letter. I do believe wholeheartedly this is an expense that is truly priceless if you want to standout amongst the crowd of individuals competing for employment. Good Luck All!
