TopResume was worth every penny! They helped me revamp my resume and cover letter to make it feel current and reflect who I truly am as a potential employee. I feel extremely confident in presenting myself to potential employers with my newly update resume. From my initial consult with the resume reviewer to the writing process, TopResume helped me see how and where my resume needed updating and how I was selling myself short in my outdated formatting and word choice. Working with the resume writer was SUPER easy, I was able to make changes easily and I got my drafts back quickly. I really appreciated their professionalism, quick response time and top-notch writing skills. I highly recommend TopResume to anyone, those who are looking for new employment and even those who aren't. You never know when an opportunity may present itself so having a spectacular resume is useful!

If you've never had a resume before than maybe this service would be helpful. My resume was not substantially changed from the original. The only thing that changed really was information was pulled and put into key accomplishment bullets after each position. The cover letter was pretty good and the opening resume summary wasn't bad, but not worth the price I paid. Same for the LinkedIn service. If you don't have a standard work history look elsewhere. I found VMock resume tool ($20) after I paid for the service and found that to be much more helpful for the price. Communication was horrible. After they get your money don't expect much in the way of letting you know what is going on. It took 4 days to receive edits that were submitted for the first revision. You only get 5 days for 2 revisions. There were many simple spelling and formatting errors that should have been caught by a "professional" resume service. Bottom line, for the money... look elsewhere. This "service" wasn't worth more than $50.

I usually can get some phone call and email from recruiters about the job positions every each Monday or Wednesday, like "CAD drafter","CAD operator","CAD designer", etc. The reason why I bought this service is that I want some positions like "Engineer".

After I updated my resume to "Top Resume"'s edition on Linkedin, Indeed, Monster, etc. I didn't receive any phone call or emails relative to the job for three weeks.
I used to give some suggestions to my writers but they didn't accept it.
So the result is I didn't receive any job opportunities' phone calls and emails for three weeks.

They said they will find some experts know my industry to edit my resume. But it seems like the writer has no idea about my industry.

I really wish I had investigated this company before I spent almost $400 to receive an expedited copy of a new resume, as well as the compilation of my Facebook profile and access to post my resume on over 70 job sites. I received the first draft late, it was full of grammatical errors, did not highlight my 20 plus years of experience, I was identified as an executive... I am getting upset talking about the lousy service. I hope no one else gets suckered into their scam! My next step is to file a report with the BBB.

I recently tried their free service. Their advice really helped me fixing my resume! I think everyone specially those who are unsure of their resume, should use their service.

TopResume has partnered with HighEd Jobs so I thought they might have a clue of what universities are looking for in a Curriculum Vitae. It is written great for business and industry and the person I worked with was responsive to changes but I was not able to communicate my need in a way she could incorporate it.

My old CV which is a mess is getting more replies than the one I paid for! Not worth the time, money and effort if you are looking for a true higher education CV. I imagine it would be great if I were applying for business and industry jobs.

They also offer a 60-day interview guarantee... ROTFL nothing happens in 60 days with Higher Ed.

Today I called customer service to discuss some issue I was experiencing. Although I am well aware of the no refund policy, I expected to at least to be heard.

Issues:
Several grammatical and spelling errors dismissed as human error
No key words used
Very clear writer was not in my field
Formatted in a way that made it hard to read and nothing stood out

I spoke with the customer service agent Tara who presented as completely unprofessional. She quickly became overwhelmed with our discussion and at one point abruptly placed me on hold so she could calm down.

Tara was focused on being right and bantered with ideas that proved to be false, without evidence, and more importantly, accusatory.

I was interrupted every single time I spoke!

When I asked to speak to a manger, Tara said she was the highest person working at that moment and was not able to find anyone else for me to speak with. She also said since it was 1:15pm on a Friday, no one would contact me until some time next week. Not the way I want my customer service to be after spending a couple hundred dollars!

At a time where job hunting is stressful enough, I wish this could have all have been avoided.

I would not recommend this service, SAVE YOUR MONEY and frustration!

The person I was assigned to was polite and pleasant. That has been the only positive thing I can say. Now that $400 is gone, I have some tips for my resume, my cover letter, and some very limited tips for my LinkedIn profile. None have produced any measurable change, which will invoke their "60 day warranty", which gets you another set of tips on your resume. They DO NOT rewrite your resume. They offer some changes which have little overall effect. They DO NOT rewrite your cover letter. Again, the same. And the LI profile tips are of no use whatsoever. Very disappointed. Investigate the five star reviews for fraud, or check to see if they are people that have no real career behind them, or have no resume writing skills. I have received better resume tips in FREE seminars put on by people who care about the desperate folks that have been put in the job search position through no fault of their own, Christian based focus groups and job fairs. Save your money.

After receiving the free critique of my resume a few days ago and the follow up emails recommending me to collaborate with them, I posted a negative review of Top Resume regarding their approach to me as a possible future client of them. They contacted me apologizing and offering me their support if I needed it. I decided not to collaborate with them for the moment because I rewrote my CV following their suggestions, but my opinion about them has improved because they contacted me and answered my questions. Taking into account that many companies dont answer negative feedbacks nowadays, I think this demonstrates that they want to improve their customer care experience. I cant talk about the quality if their work because I dont know it, they hadnt written my CV. What I can say is that their review determined me to rewrite my CV and I think its much better now.
