Their writers are unable to defend and explain the decisions and changes they make. I asked three times for why certain words and phrases were used, what the most important keywords were, and what format (Doc/PDF) she recommended for me going forward. She ignored almost all of my questions, or answered with vague, unhelpful tips. At worst she changed the word I was asking about without comment, suggesting that she agreed that the term she used was foolish to begin with.

Their one week turnaround might have been a good amount of time, but the writer didn't answer all of my questions within the timeframe.

Aside from that, there were many spelling and grammar errors in my first draft, and a full paragraph that was unfinished.

My resume had some good changes made (more professional format, prompted me to add accomplishments), but I've been left questioning a lot of the decisions and feeling like I paid far too much for the service. I paid for the top tier of service, which was supposed to include an "industry expert", and whatever else TopResume claimed, but instead I got an impersonal service and someone who couldn't defend their changes.

I signed up in April 2019 and have had absolutely ZERO results. I am a highly accomplished professional in the financial services industry, yet the resume and cover letter they did for me has done less than nothing for me. Honestly, I did better with my own resume that they said was basically garbage than I have done with their "professional" version. I am so disappointed in the service and I feel like I have flushed $300+ that I couldn't afford right down the toilet. I feel taken advantage of because I am desperate for a job that is appropriate to my skills and experience and I was led to believe that this would be an investment that would yield returns. I will never recommend their services to anyone and I want people to know that this is really a scam. They should be ashamed of taking advantage of people like me.

Keep in mind you do not get a refund. As soon as you get your money they lose all interest in you. Every resume they gave me required complete rewrites. I couldn't even give them edits. They used language that I never told them to use and even legally misrepresented what I can offer. The first draft came days after they promised it would arrive and that was only after I harped on them to finally turn something in.
They are complete amateur writers. Save your money and either find something way cheaper or better yet, find someone locally where you can actually look at their prior experience and have an actual conversation about your needs. Do not make the mistake and hire TopResume. I'm almost three weeks in and am still waiting for a legitimate draft I can work with for edits.

They really take everything into account before starting to work on your resume. You also get the effort out of your resume that you put in.
The negative reviews I see about the "writers not knowing" is only relevant if you don't give them information to work with. They ask for job postings of jobs that you would want. They ask a questionnaire for you to talk about yourself, so they can get a better idea of you. If you put no effort into your answers, then you probably won't get as much back. The answers are where they get an idea of you and what you want. I needed my resume for a high management position and got multiple call backs and job offers after submitting my new resume.

This is sham! They take your money and while commissioning them they don't monition the timeline - 10 damn days to get the most basic and mediocre level of work you would not even think of getting from someone who claims to be professional. After amendments the so called professional writer does not even reply, then after repeated follow ups gave a deadline - after his promised deadline - I get an email that the writer is not clear on my deadlines.
DON'T waste your money and time like I did...

TopResume paired me with a very skilled writer who was proficient in my industry and able to revamp my content-heavy resume to become more polished/pulled-together, highlighting my strengths and making it altogether much more readable. The writer listened to my feedback and did a super job of presenting my career in a very intelligent and professional way. She also wrote an impressive cover letter making it very easy to customize as necessary with any additional position-specific info. Outstanding job!

My writer didn't have a clue about the IT field and my resume came back looking like it was a college term paper. Paid for expedited service and turn around but missed the mark by 48 hrs with no refund. My writer was generally disinterested and got a little defensive when I was asking about the format used. He kept on saying it had peer review and this was the way resumes should be presented now. I am a hiring manager and can't say I have ever seen this format come across my desk. Total waste of money and time.
