I have bought over 20 items on tophatter and I am not happy with any of them. All items were sold and shipped from China. Items are smaller, very cheap looking as if I bought them at the 99 cent store. I have thrown more then half the crap away because it would cost me more money to ship it back then to throw it away. I will not buy another item on tophatter again, I have actually uninstalled the app. VERY disappointed.

I Jerry bidded onnan Apple Laptop or notebook and for some reason nobody bidded with me and the round went twice for $15.00 and Taphatter closed it and never let me buy it.

It's actually pretty fun, BUT to get shut down from it because I had to cancel 3 orders (Because of HIGH Shipping Costs) out of the 20+ I had actually purchased was ridiculous! 3 Days I wasn't allowed to bid! Not cool!

The system considers the number of successful purchases and the number of cancellations and bidding blocks are based on that calculation. The block cannot be removed by anyone. It's system-based and automatically times out on its own once it expires, sorry.
There is a notice before canceling that warns the next cancellation will result in a block. It appears in the pop up modal before canceling.

Items are not as described. Most jewelry is fake. Painted on etc. Looks cheap. All i can say is thats why consumers are thinking they are getting great deals. But in reality we are getting cheap items for cheap prices!

Never ever buy clothing. If you do buy at least 2 sizes larger. I have received many pieces of clothing I ordered before I ever received the first piece. They are all very cheap material, thin, and strings hanging or actually unraveled. As for other items I have been relatively happy. Make sure you start to pay attention to the sellers. Those in the US will give you better quality when it comes to jewelry. I got a bit over zealous in the beginning and ordered way too many things (over 100) before I ever received anything. I like Tophatter, but have learned to be c aweareful. NO CLOTHING EVER, and watch the sellers and take notes on each. It will prevent disappointment in the long run. The order number below is just one of over 100 in a month.

Answer: Justin you are absolutely correct. I find out the hard way. I had my own auction with nice AUTHENTIC designer items and cosmetics (Becca, Cargo, Smahbox, Too Faced, etc). I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.
Answer: You will notice the same names no matter the day, time etc. Bidding against you very often. Is it a coincidence? Personally I don't believe in coincidences.
Answer: Depends on what you are selling. Yes, a lot of items go unsold in the jewelry and accessories categories... as well as others. Coach and Michael Kors and other designer brands, not much goes unsold, because here's the catch - - you pay fees on the starting bid. TH wants everything to start at $1. So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.
