I'm getting hooked on top hatter! It gives me something fun to do during this stay-at-home quarantine. I found so many fun products at good prices that are going to go in our Christmas gift baskets for our family get-together. I've gotten a few of the items already and it didn't take long. And the items I've gotten, I've been very pleased with. I love that they show the shipping cost right up front before you bid. And so many things are free shipping.
I've used other online sites and when I go into the cart to pay I'm shocked because of the high shipping costs that you had no idea of when you were ordering. Then you have to recalculate and decide if you really want to purchase them. Having the shipping cost right up front is a big bonus to me. No surprises. Customer service is awesome, too! I successfully bid on an item and won with a $1 bid. About one week later I received a notice that I was getting a refund without asking. It's clear to me the Seller ( Zhang Qian) didn't like the final result and cancelled my legitimate order. It wasn't that their supply ran out as they continue to list the item on Tophatter and you can purchase it with Buy It Now for $8. This is dishonest business practices and this Seller should be banned from Selling on Tophatter. The Customer Service folks were responsive in responding to my complaint but said they couldn't really do anything about it. Good Customer service would be to require the Seller to live up to their auction or remove them from selling on Tophatter.

I have bid and bought serval items from here. The items are never what they seem and today I got some metallic markers I bid on an assortment and I got 5 of the same color. It takes FOREVER FOR your order to be delivered and sometimes it may not come at all

I have won over 50 auctions. A large majority of the items seemed to take quite a while to receive. So far I have been extremely disappointed in the quality of the jewelry items, except for one piece. They are very sharply detailed in the photos that grab your interest to bid. Disappointment (to the level of disgust) quickly replaces the excitement of finally getting your order upon opening your package. The clothing is so thin as to be see-thru. Some of the items (mostly the jewelry), is such poor quality it is trash. Even though brand new, I can't in good conscience even donate it. I am disgusted with myself that I got suckered in to bidding on items that the prices were too good to be true.

Getting items through this site has always been kind of a 50/50 proposition. I've gotten some items I really love and a lot of poor quality junk that has little relation to what is pictured/described.
NOW, I've noticed a new trend over about the past 9 months or so that has prompted me to review... If you are lucky enough to win an auction at less than the average price that an item has been selling for, you have about a 70% chance of the Seller cancelling your order. What does Tophatter do? Why they give you a full refund... IN SITE CREDITS! I have a couple of issues with this. 1) if the seller cancels my order, that should automatically be a cash refund. 2) When it is happening this often, there is a problem with the SELLERS on Tophatter!
It's an auction site, and that is a pretty shady practice!
Example - Won an auction for $12. I've been since watching this same item sell between 25-30 dollars. I was just notified that the order is cancelled and "good news" I've been refunded with Tophatter credit! (I bet THOSE other, higher priced orders did not get cancelled and refunded!)

I returned 10 items due to its FAKE & PLASTIC composition. When I used PAYPAL I got my MONEY BACK.

I've been dealing with Tophatter for several years now and have yet to experience a problem with it. 98% of their products are exactly as advertised. And if you should have a problem with the other 2%, Tophatter insures to make it right. I purchase solely for myself and not for resale. Many times I will price check items on Google, Amazon, etc. to make certain my choices are good ones. So far I've been very happy. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an auction where the bidding starts low and the pricing doesn't get out of hand.

I recently purchased Gucci Rush perfume from them and they were amazing shipping was extremely fast, I don't know why my account put a bad review saying the perfume was fake it is not my daughter checked the batch number on Gucci site and it's real so please disregard that review they are amazing they got her perfume there before her birthday and it's amazing perfume thank u

I ordered 16 Paw Patrol Backpacks, to give to my students at the end of the school year. Planned to put books and reading material in them for summer from. Received only 12,6 of those were the wrong characters. I was offered NO REFUND n told to send back the backpacks to China individually, even though the Seller mailed all 12 together. Gee, that seems fair. Finally went to the Attorney General's Office and filed a report and also the BBB. Worst website I've ever seen. Horrible customer service and Nikola, one of their reps is dumber than a box of rocks and BEYOND RUDE. I'm done with Tophatter.

I bid on many jewelry items. Some gold some silver. Some i knew were just worthless but pretty but I didnt bid on those. The necklaces said solid silver 925 stamped on them in the picture and the description. But when they arrived I went to put them in my jewelry box but they stuck to my weak magnetic latch. (Hint gold, silver and some other precious metals aren't supposed to stick to magnets) Most of orders came from so many different vendors so I didnt know exactly which ones scammed me. I only bought jewelry that claimed to be real silver or gold or stated stainless steele and looked like it. There was only 2 that were actually silver I spent over $150 just that day alone. The picture included with this picture is one of the neclaces i received. With the 925 stamp certifying that is solid silver. What a scam. Dont waste your money unless you dont care if its just cheap pretty jewelry that wont last. I have bought silver and gold jewelry as presents for people and even resold some. They all turned from silver or gold to sad looking cheap garbage. I even had to refund money to people that bought things from me and it ruined my reputation. Buyer beware!

Refused a refund

I ordered what was suppose to be a women's medium sized nine jacket, I received a child's large Nike jacket. The jacket would not even come close to fitting my daughter who wears a small. I requested a return and was denied. You can't falsely list the size of your items. I should be given a refund because had I known the jacket was actually a Child's size I wouldn't have bought it. The seller duped me and now Mercari won't refund me my money.

I have been using this app for a couple of years now and I have been using a few others too. I have only been using this app since the later part of 2019. I would say hands down it's 2020's best auction app out there whether you are using an iOS or android app. There site offers items that you can not get from the other sites and definitely not from the other auction sites. They have items for everyday use, hard to find, newest electronics, high end health & beauty, unique quality clothing and shoes, you name it and I'm sure Tophatter has it and not only has it will have it and it will be better than the other item you were looking for in that category. It seems to me that Tophatter has a lot of high end electronics that are sold by them for amazingly low prices especially when you score one from a live auction (Apple and Windows my fav) and their other items are from everyday business people that Tophatter has given a platform to offer their goods. The items that people have crafted and created but they are not in the stores. I have definitely seen items on this site and those items appear months later in stores. I think they are given everyday talented people a platform to showcase and sell these hot items. I am able to get my hands on items that no one can get in stores or on any other app but for an amazingly low price tag before it's pricing is increased by corporate America owned stores via their contracts to sell on their shelves. These is merely an assumption but it's the facts of what I have seen in the time I have been a customer. I hope to see Tophatter around forever and I would definitely say they are a rare find. 5 STARS AND 2 THUMBS UP
