The company has garnered a mixed reputation among customers, with notable strengths in its engaging auction format and a diverse range of products that some users find enjoyable and affordable. Many appreciate the responsive customer service, which has been effective in addressing issues and facilitating refunds. However, significant concerns persist regarding product quality, with numerous complaints about receiving damaged or inferior items. Additionally, customers have reported frustrations with order cancellations and difficulties in the returns process. Overall, while the platform offers a fun shopping experience, it must improve product reliability and support to enhance customer satisfaction.

Wonderful breath taking items with the power of bidding and excitement of winning!
I can't seem to stop shopping... this is so addicting! I have found that 97% of the merchandise is quality and most definitely worth the money.
I have enjoyed the bidding process, and have won some really nice things. I have been very pleased with at least 95 to 96 percent of items I have won. The prices have been great. I have got to try things I would not have purchased because of too high a price, but now I would pay because of the quality. Keep the great quality coming.
Have ordered multiple items... watch the sizes! Mostly in metric sizing, so something I expect as being large, comes out very small... my fault but very easy to return. Mostly they pay return postage unless you purchased with free postage. Clothing sizes are iffy so watch that too! Very customer friendly/oriented site. Have returned and kept many items. You can bid. Which is more fun than slot machines or purchase at set price. Easy site navigation.
Most of the items I've purchased are exactly as described by the sellers.
It's a computer raising the prices, not a real auction. And all these genuine things... come from Hong Kong and and are pieces of trash that you could pay a couple of pound for at discount stores. What a con...
I have bought many items and mostly pleased with them. The one think that infuriates me is the very high cost (not everything) of the postage sometimes three/four times more than the article I won. A ring was delivered in a large package. It had rows and rows of bubblewrap, three rolled up invoices all the same wording. I thought this was a large item not a small ring. I was charged a rediculous amount for sending, also bracelets might fit my 9 yr old granddaughter but not me. My email is *******@Gmail. Com. I am using my son's tablet at the moment.
Been sitting here reading reviews - so far I have purchased 15 items - I have been very pleased with what I have gotten so far. I only bid on jewelry - all sterling silver or gold filled - only bid on items noting real gems - no cz ir created - sure they are probably low quality ones but what the heck - it is fun to bid - I have a set stopping price and do not go over. Everything I have gotten is guite nice and I have had no issued of any kind... so far... I plan on bidding many more times... best advice is be cautious
He oerfume is only 5ml! But shoed a bottle and hides half of the actual "5ml" info! Also the price they say it should be is total to rubbish it said a watch was supposed to be £328 and I checked on google for exactly same watch and it was on ebay a few times and all were no more than £25! How is this even allowed?
Hi Gemma, Tophatter has very strict policies in place to protect buyers from misleading listings. If you had a specific issue please reach out to our support directly with the order number so we can investigate. Support can be reached at tophatter.com/support. Thanks!
For sellers it is very had to get items up for auction. It seems Tophatter wants you to spend lots of $$$ to put your items up for auction, if you don't pay to have them auctioned then items are sold at the worst times of the day. On top of having your items sold at terrible times of the day Tophatter charges. 50 each and every time an item goes up for auction regardless if your item sells or not. So you have to pay Tophatter's 10% fee plus. 50 fee each time the item goes up for auction. Talk about double dipping
Thank you for taking the time to review Tophatter. Please see our Seller Hub which shows many positive case studies of sellers who have 1,000s of items up for auction and are happy with their Tophatter selling experience.

I ordered 2 items. One has never arrived. According to the tracking, it was delivered and signed for while I wasn't at home and no one else lives with me. I contacted Tophatter and they denied me a refund since tracking shows it was delivered. They then closed the case and would not work with me further. I had to dispute the charge via PayPal. The other item was advertised as "genuine diamond and iolite earrings." I did receive those and took them to a renowned jeweler. There are no diamonds at all, the metal is simply cut and patterned to look like a gem. The "iolite" is purple colored glass. The items they sell are fake and it's nothing but false advertising. And when something goes wrong, they refuse to work with their customers at all.
Hi Holly, It sounds like you have two separate issues here. If you received an item that was misleading please reach out to support directly at tophatter.com/support with the order number so we can investigate. We have policies in place to keep sellers from listing misleading items. In regards to the order you say you didn't receive, if tracking from USPS shows as delivered Tophatter cannot assist with these cases and you will need to contact USPS directly. Thanks!
I purchased a few items and when they arrived one was damaged, next one was a sample "not for resale", other items look so fake that basically came out of your crackle box candies. Not worth it. To top it, my requested returns was denied because seller does not accept returns. Tophatter is not on your side.
Hi Teodora, I am sorry to hear you had a negative experience with one of the sellers on the platform. Please send a message to our support directly so we can take a look at your damaged item, we have policies in place to protect buyers from damaged goods. Not worth the price. I am happy with about 5
Cost more then it is worth. I did get some really nice pieces from select vendors but I am embarrassed that I paid for things that are really not good enough for a dollar store. I did get some wonderful rings and bracelets at a good discount and I learned who to buy from but the sellers really should stop inflating the worth of their product. One buyer would say the MSRP is $1299 when you look at other sites they are really
Way over priced. I have gotten a few items at a huge discount but 80
Way over priced. This really is a buyer beware.

Sent out an item that was in a crushed package and expected this to be ok! Not even close! I have bought several things from here and this is the 3rd item that is a piece of garbage, do yourselves a favor and shop at Amazon! You may pay a little more but at least if there is an issue it won't take 45+ days to resolve an issue. My question is how does a package get lost in China, finally make it to New York and leave the same facility twice in the same day and arrive in Tampa only to leave that same facility three times in a six hour time frame? How can a seller intentionally send a mutilated package and feel no obligation to provide a return label for shipping? I am extremely mad because this was a cool item I won and it isn't even giftable to my boyfriend for Christmas little on an everyday just because gift! I am one who believes stuff can happen but for a 3rd incident? Nope! So long Tophatter, you can keep your JUNK! The seller should be held accountable for this crap! Cool part is the tracking on my home page still shows as "in transit"!

Rip-off! I bought a cosmetic item and bottle was empty. I returned it the very next day after I received it. I NEVER received the credit. $35 for an empty bottle plus $9 to ship it back. Rip-offs! Stay away from them!

Answer: There is also the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION that can help with these types of problems
Answer: You have to read the descriptions. It will tell you if it's real or plated.
Answer: Do not deal with this company,,, all jewelery is crap n cheap
Answer: Tophatter will screw you over. Shop Amazon or overstock.
Answer: Good luck! Tophatter rippes off the sellers so they are not going to be very likely to return your money.
Answer: Justin you are absolutely correct. I find out the hard way. I had my own auction with nice AUTHENTIC designer items and cosmetics (Becca, Cargo, Smahbox, Too Faced, etc). I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.
Answer: You will notice the same names no matter the day, time etc. Bidding against you very often. Is it a coincidence? Personally I don't believe in coincidences.
Answer: Depends on what you are selling. Yes, a lot of items go unsold in the jewelry and accessories categories... as well as others. Coach and Michael Kors and other designer brands, not much goes unsold, because here's the catch - - you pay fees on the starting bid. TH wants everything to start at $1. So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.
Answer: Yes! Sale of counterfeit items is prohibited. If you are concerned about the authenticity of an item purchased on the platform, you may return it for up to 30 days from delivery. See full details on our return policy here: http://tinyurl.com/h7xokwj.
