I've been a customer of tophatter for quite a while. I have never once had any problems with the items I purchased.
The jewelry is costume fake jewelry, I got a camera that didn't work, the wrong watches that FYI was supposed to be my sons 21st bday present never received it, other sellers waited so long to send me what I bought it was too late to return it. Total ripoff all the way around. I won't be back..

Ordered a cheap $6 item from their Dollar Start site and attempted to pay with the same debit card that I have shopped online with for over 2 years. I immediately got told that my billing address was different than my shipping address? I sent in a complaint to customer Non-service and received a series of childish answers to my problem, they act as though my very real problem is some type of non-existent joke. The idiots stand by their ludicrous claim that there is some mystery address that I am concealing. I have shopped with Amazon, eBay, and countless other sites and NEVER had one issue or problem. Stay away from this site it is run by morons that don't give a flying crap about their customers!.
I've just won an auction for what looks to be a very nice digital camera. I just paid a total of $18 including shipping. Please send me what I paid for, I really don't want to go thru hell once it gets here. Also, it's scheduled to me here by August 30th, WHY so long?
Anyway, I really hope I'll be able to give you a good review once I've gotten my purchase. I will be checking my credit card statements to make sure the 1st order I canceled actually returned the funds. I thought I was bu ying a camera the first time but only after paying did I read the fine print to find out the camera in the picture was not included. So I requested a refund immediately then went and found the camera that I just bought.

JUNK and wrong items delivered, nothing is what the picture shows, some items never arrived, some items arrive broken. I bought 19 items and 17 were either junk or did not arrive at all. No contact information for the sellers. Go to DHGATE and buy direct for better deals.

Bought a few items but after receiving a ankle bracelet advertised as really expensive but looked like cheap costume jewelry I began looking at the few products I purchased on line. Sure enough it was all cheaper by about 95%. Shame on me for not doing my homework and being gullible.

At first I was very happy with Tophatter. I was purchasing pieces of jewelry that were marketed as solid sterling silver and are actually stamped. 925 but they are not. The quality is very nice on most and I was very happy and continued to buy. However one day I decided to test the shank of a ring and it fried with the acid test and instantly revealed copper under the super thin silver plate. In fact more like a silver wash to me. So I continued to test many more and every single one was copper. If there is a law in the US that all fine jewelry has to be stamped with their metal content this this site is breaking the law. At the very least they are sponsering and allowing sellers on their site to rip off the public in my opinion for as long as they can get away with it. They pretend not to know and say that they do not allow fake items but THEY KNOW. Who would think of testing brand new jewelry, especially silver because an acid test leaves a mark and who wants to do that to a new piece of jewelry? But I purchase to resell sometimes and glad I tested these or I would have been labeled the thief. To be fair they do refund quickly if you are not satisfied for up to 30 days. But if you put the jewelry away and only wear it occasionally you won't know until it is way too late to return. In my case many of my items were past the 30 days and you have to return them as they were shipped to you and once you test them and the copper shows they are no longer how they were shipped to you. My advise... purchase other items there, I have had no problem with those things, only the jewelry is bad. Otherwise only pay for what you would pay for costume jewelry, even if they say it's guaranteed Sterling... it's a lie, every single piece I purchased was fake. Beware!

Won an auction at 20 dollars and was billed at 35 dollars. After trying twice I was finally contacted back stating that there records show it went for 35.00. Absolutely not. I bid only once and when it was at 20.00. Watched it go once, go twice and show I won. Tophatter says send them a screen shot of the transaction showing I won it at 20.00. Who are they kidding? You can't take a screen shot of something that has passed a week ago, and they know it. They have refused to refund the difference. It's not the 15 dollars that bothers me it's being taken in this way.

I have received the wrong items, broken items and just crap items. Wheen something does go wrong, I am stalled or ignored until the return time is over.

In order for this site to work for you, you need to know what your buying and the cost of it if you purchased it in the normal way. You can't be upset if you don't do your research. Every deal isn't a deal and you need to be careful. Recently I purchased a 3 piece multi colored pearl set. It was a pearl set, but not multi-colored? Disappointed. I have made about 25 purchases, and I am 50 50 on whether I will be making anymore.

Answer: Justin you are absolutely correct. I find out the hard way. I had my own auction with nice AUTHENTIC designer items and cosmetics (Becca, Cargo, Smahbox, Too Faced, etc). I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.

Answer: Depends on what you are selling. Yes, a lot of items go unsold in the jewelry and accessories categories... as well as others. Coach and Michael Kors and other designer brands, not much goes unsold, because here's the catch - - you pay fees on the starting bid. TH wants everything to start at $1. So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.
