Tophatter is a new and exciting auction site. Have fun bidding on popular, quality items. If you miss an item you want, stay and look at other items and wait for your item to come up again. Tell your friends and share with them the items you've won.
Some of the items are nice others are truly junk. You just have to be cautious about what your bidding on. Some of the pictures don't look anything like the original item but then some are right on. Had a few bad experiences but all in all not a bad auction site. Stay away from the "Yes" hair removal item... junk.

So I received a ring I bidded on and I have found better looking merchandise in a cracker jack box even in a quarter machine with the little plastic bubble
I took one look at it and it went into file 13 better known as the trash can. Save your money for somewhere else

Clothing runs small. If the item runs on batteries, presume that the batteries do not come with it.
Get yourself a metric ruler so when they give measurements in mm or cm you know what size you are getting, Do not be deceived by the pictures. I informed Tophatter of several deceptive pictures. The one in particular was the painting of an Indian Maiden and a wolf.
The picture they had with it showed the painting being the width of a 3 cushion sofa and about 3' high. The actual size (which you need to click on the description to get was about 13 x 17. They claim it was because of how the picture was taken. Yeah, right. 2 months later the photo has not changed.

I've bought several items on Tophatter for Christmas gifts & stocking stuffers and the majority have been disappointments. Why did I order several items if they are poor quality & defective? Because I ordered many before the first item arrived and at first some items (sterling silver rings) were okay -- also be prepared for up to two month deliver times and if they are delivered to the wrong house you are on the hook (no refund) and Tophatter says is up to you to track down with post office -- good luck with that. Tophatter has no direct contact with sellers to resolve complaints. Some sellers refund without physical return of the item which is good and fair when the product is not as advertised, defective or poor quality. However for those sellers who do not, the cost of shipping the item "with the required tracking number" is exponentially more than you will pay for an item (e, g, $100 plus for a small item) so in essence you kiss your money goodbye as who is going to pay the high cost of shipping to China with a tracking number?! Tophatter stands by the sellers who cheat their customers in this way -- that is they send cheap, broken, defective, misrepresented items because they know people will suck up the loss rather than pay the high costs of return for their refund. Sterling silver rings I bought were for the most part okay, toys were pretty much junk, "leather" messenger bags were okay although one seller sent me a plastic one that was advertised as genuine leather, clothes rarely fit to size re American / Canadian sizes and size charts are misrepresented. Just received the last item (electronic hand game toy) I ordered for Christmas stocking stuffer and it won't even turn on after trying several new batteries.

Don't waste your money. The pictures my look good, but the products are cheap and not worth a dime. I just tossed the stuff in the trash and marked it down as a lesson learned.

I purchased a handful of items just to check them out. All items are of cheap/poor quality. Pictures often depicted "real" items. One item came in with absolutely no instructions... not even picture instructions. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. BEWARE and don't get excited about that good deal you think you're about to get! The order id below is only for 1 of the items.

I read a review that says that TopHatter "has your back" if a Seller sends you damaged items. That's a TOTAL CROCK! Yes, they will let me return the item, IF I PAY OVER $60 DOLLARS TO SHIP IT BACK TO CHINA! AND IT'S BROKEN! Plus, items that I have returned... I have not been issued my money back. So, broken items I have to pay return. Many of the items are either Damaged, Not as they are in the picture or just TOTAL GARBAGE! BUYER BEWARE!

The worst products I have ever purchased. Everything I bought went in the trash. I gave 2 things as gifts and the people gave them back to me to return. After reading the reviews I just trashed them and got them new things... I was so upset. I have never had such a bad experience.

The Tablet I received didn't work. I was told by Top Hatter I had to pay shipping back to China. Are they dreaming. Will not visit their site again. Have opened a dispute with Pay Pal. Game on!

You may receive a refund for an item, and return will not be required. 2. If you live in the United States, you may receive a free return shipping label to cover the cost of returning your item. 3. If you live outside of the United States, you may receive a store credit to offset some of the cost of returning your item. 4. You may return the item and assume the cost of return shipping on your own.

They allow sellers to misrepresent the descriptions over and over. I have alerted them to several sellers' purposeful misrepresentation of items--and they don't seem to care that these sellers, who agree to certain terms and conditions in order to sell on the site, claim gemstones to be what they clearly are not--and metals to be what they clearly are not. I know what. 925 silver looks like--and i have received items that are clearly NOT silver. ANYONE can stamp jewelry metal that is not authentic. A ring i purchased, purported to be "genuine colombian emerald" was offered by another seller who labelled it properly as chrysoprase. Many items are depicted as much larger than they are, though in my opinion, when the actual size is mentioned, it is a caveat emptor situation. But for jewelry items to be PURPOSELY MISREPRESENTED AS "GENUINE" when it is obvious they are not--and allowing sellers to continue this practice when multiple complaints are received makes Tophatter a part of a criminal enterprise. I have ordered quite a few items and so far everything has been a great experience. The only down side is that youre mailing system uses so many different delivery companies who are not giving your business a good name.

Cheap items and sometimes with fake descriptions like the material of the jewelry. What I bought for $22 I found it in ebay for $1.24 with free shipping.

Answer: Justin you are absolutely correct. I find out the hard way. I had my own auction with nice AUTHENTIC designer items and cosmetics (Becca, Cargo, Smahbox, Too Faced, etc). I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.

Answer: Depends on what you are selling. Yes, a lot of items go unsold in the jewelry and accessories categories... as well as others. Coach and Michael Kors and other designer brands, not much goes unsold, because here's the catch - - you pay fees on the starting bid. TH wants everything to start at $1. So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.
