Buyer beware!

Buyer beware! This website offers "remanufactured/ recertified" electronics at a slight discount-- so you would expect a product warranty for a previously returned defective product to be very desirable. Their so-called product warranty is through something on their websited called "SQUARETRADE" for which ECOST.COM readily accepts your money but it is impossible to contact when the item warranted does not work. Selling defective previously returned products under the guise of "recertified" must be a very profitable business plan.

I heard of Tiger Direct about five years ago.In July of 2008 I ordered a laptop computer from them.It arrived the next morning. Works great, no problems with it. Since that time I have purchased other electronics.Not once have I had any reason not to be pleased with service or quality of their offerings. I now have a 60" Sony TV from them. They are the best retailer I have ever done business with.

I used this website in building my PC. They are hit and miss with their prices, but do have a very large selection, and categorize their merch really well which makes it easy to find what you looking for.

Their barebone kits are also very helpful to get you started.

Set up an account and placed an order with next day shipping on a Thursday. Within an hour I received a call from them stating I needed to verify my address, The CSR then did some kind of search on my address and said I had to verify by calling him back from the number he found listed as my address, which was the number to my neighbors apartment which is listed at the same address as mine. I explained to him that this was not my number, and he started insisting that it was. After pissing me off for a few minutes with this stupidity. He finally said there was another way, he insisted I give him my social security number! He finally "released" my order and I asked him to verify it would be here on friday, and he said it WILL be there tomorrow. UPS is now telling me it will be here Monday. I will never order from them again. They don't know what they are doing, they insult their customers. And allow you to waste your money on shipping when they can't deliver what they promise. Total fail in my book.

I ordered my son an IPOD ITouch when all my usual places where sold out. Onsale.com had the exact one for a competitive price w/free engraving. Exactly what I wanted.

I placed the order LATE Friday evening using express shipping (2-3 day). The item was engraved and shipped by Saturday morning. I received it Monday. INCREDIBLE.

My only complaint was that the engraving was wrong. They printed it half-right, but the rest was gibberish. My son was so happy that he didn't want me to get a replacement, so I cannot attest to the customer service at onsale.com. They do have remarkable turnaround time on orders and have good prices.

When I buy a new laptop I usually check onsale, newegg and tigerdirect. Then I pick which ever has the lowest price for what I am looking for. Onsale more recently has been the low price leader as I think the other companies have grown so much they have not felt the need to stay competitive on pricing. Definitely worth looking at onsale.

I bought a Western Digital Live Plus media players that arrived not working. Called after 4 emails went unanswered and was told I would receive a RMA # & return shipping label within 3 business days. That was over 2 weeks ago and counting. Very poor customer service on all levels. I make several hundred purchases per year online, and absolutely would NOT recommend this website for any purchase. Don't let the low prices lure you in, most of it is junk!

I used ecost a long time ago and then forgot about this site as they didn't keep bombarding me wiht emails like every other company out there. But when I needed a new bluetooth headset I somehow found ecost again. I got my new jawbone at like 70% off what I found on other sites and it was a great deal with zippy shipping. Very happy and will use them again.

Tiger Direct always has great prices on items I need for my computer repair business at competitive prices. Shipping is fast, everything is very straightforward. The one time I had a problem (UPS smashed the package to smithereens) they were completely responsive and arranged for a replacement item to be sent via 2-day air. Definitely a website I have on bookmark!

Mis-representation of item sold. Customer support via email is non existent as even after 3 emails I never even got one response. After complaining on another review site they actually called me about my problem but never called back and never resolved the issue (refurb laptop that arrived with non working hard drive)

Tiger offers you good prices, good products, presales assistance, FAST, FAST shipping, and definately after the sale backing when needed. If you feel that anything is not 100% to your satisfaction, pick up the phone and Tiger will make you happy! This a company you can buy from with confidence and trust! Same company as CompUSA.
