Having read some of the previous reviews, I just wanted to share my positive experiences with Thrive. I have never had any problems with any orders made! Also, the membership fee is plainly stated when you make your first purchase. I have never received any products that weren't of amazing quality. The price of the membership may be a little high at $60/yr, but their prices are really great and make up for that quickly. If anything changes I will update my review, but I love Thrive Market so far!
Do not order from this company! I ordered one item for a total of $2. I thought I was getting a great deal on some coconut oil! No, I was charged $60 a few days later. I didn't notice it at the time (Oct 2016) because I wasn't checking my account every single day. I was charged another $60 today and I actually noticed it! I contacted them to refund me. They said I will be refunded the latest $60 in 3-5 business days and I cancelled the membership. I HAD NO IDEA I was signed up for a membership automatically when I made a purchase! There was no email notification or ANY INFORMATION that I was going to be charged for a membership!
I have been so impressed with this company. They are extremely organized and have wonderful products. I have Celiac and find so many gluten free options there, that save me a lot of money! I love you and thank you, again!
I was told I would get some of my money to join back but never did even though one of their employees told me I would! And I got no notice that my membership was coming to an end... very disorganized. After my posting this on Facebook they responded saying they wanted to work with me on it. After reaching out a second time, STILL NOTHING! And at first I was wanting to support them thinking they were a company of integrity~
Hi Samira- I apologize that this came as a surprise! As a membership-based company, we offer a 30-day free trial that begins with the first Thrive Market purchase. After the trial, we charge the annual fee for our services, as noted in the policy on the checkout page. We also send trial members an email reminder a few days before the membership is activated. I'll be sending you a private message to discuss your account further.
I have made 4 purchases from Thrive to date. About 80% of the items I received have had an expiration date that was very close to the date I received the product. A few items had already expired. I contacted Thrive to express my concern and was told that their policy is to never give you items that were less than 3 months from the expiration date. If that is the policy, they need to tell the rest of their employees because it is rare to get an item that is 3 months out from expiration.
Customer service did work to make things right with me and told me I could contact them in the future if I had any future issues with expiration dates. But here is the thing- I am shopping for healthier foods and am not interested in getting old products. If a product is close to its expiration date, it was produced quite awhile ago.
You will save some money on Thrive IF you shop enough to make up for the membership fee. Just know that you don't get to choose how fresh the products are. You get what you pay for.
Nowhere on their order page does it say that they will charge you a membership fee... one month after your first order. Contacting support got me no response whatsoever. I ordered a product for $7 and paid a $59.95 fee for the privilege. My bank told me they were unable to investigate this fraud, but if enough people call Bank of America and block them, then perhaps they will.
This is an intentional scam.
Hi Squeaky- I apologize that this came as a surprise. As a membership-based company, we offer a 30-day free trial that begins with the first Thrive Market purchase. After the trial, we charge the annual fee for our services, as noted in the policy on the checkout page. We also send trial members an email reminder a few days before the membership is activated. I wrote a review about my issues with trying to cancel and still being charged a fee. After my review someone contacted me, looked into my issues and refunded money that I was charged in the past. Although I appreciate it very much, I still can't recommend this service. I was originally given such a hard time and it took over a year to be refunded money I shouldn't have been charged.
But thank you for rectifying my issue.
I had the same problem as others, except I called multiple times and online chatted saying I want to cancel my account after my trial, then charged and then charged again the year after. I've tried to get my money back and explain I cancelled and all they offered was credit to use on the website- not to my card. Also, to make it a 6 month membership. They failed to say the credit expires and now my membership has expired and I can only use the credit IF I pay my membership fee. The only reason they haven't charged my card the membership fee now is because they have my old card on file. But they keep emailing me to update the info. SOOOO unhappy with this situation.
They billed my cc 1 full year after I canceled.
I got some "free" chocolate last year and paid a $1.95 shipping charge on my CC card. Today, I discovered that I had a fee on my credit card for a $59.95 annual membership fee. AND Further investigation showed that they also charged me $59.95 last year! I have now paid them $120.00 for nothing. It seems that there was some fine print that by getting the chocolate, I was instituting a 30 day trial membership and if I did not cancel, I would be charged their fee. No one seems to care that I have never ordered anything during my two alleged memberships. They claim that I got email notices which I did not. They are crediting me for the recent "membership" charge, but that free chocolate from 2016 cost me $59.95. I contacted them and although I was able to get the recent charge removed, they couldn't care less about the fee they charged me last year for nothing. Thrive has a great concept and then they blow it by referring you "to the fine print". Does this sound like a company that you want to get involved with?!
Hi Peter- I apologize that this came as a surprise! As a membership-based company, we offer a 30-day free trial that begins with the first Thrive Market purchase. Someone from customer service emails me and promises me a call. Shall I call it, "THE CALL THAT NEVER COMES?" Just another reason to STAY AWAY! What a joke!
Hi Ruth- Thank you for your response. We attempted to call you at the phone number provided, but received a message that "blocked caller ids cannot call toll free numbers". I'd be happy to speak with you further. Feel free to call us at 855.419.9919 and ask for a supervisor. I'll also send you another private message including my email where you may reach me directly. Look forward to speaking with you.
Unfortunately, THRIVE has alienated me on several occasions, so I cancelled my membership. When their software does not work and one misses the special, they will not make it right. The company is hostile and unfriendly.
(BEWARE OF THEIR THRIVE PASTA SAUCES... THEY ARE TERRIBLE!)
If you search for comments, there are dozens upon dozens of former Thrive Market customers who have written unfavorable replies.
I will continue to support my local businesses by buying healthily at Roots Market, Yes Natural Foods and My Organic Market in the Washington DC area.
I did not authorized the debit few minutes ago in my credit card and didn't see any annual membership in the cart when i bought something 2 years ago. My only purchase was 2 years ago! Around 20 dollars and now I figured out that i'm paying for something, 59 dollars, for 2 years!
Stay away from this company... never seen something like this. My product for 19.90 is costing 139.90 after 2 years. I'm extremely confused and pissed..
Hi Tiago- I apologize that this came as a surprise! As a membership-based company, we offer a 30-day free trial that begins with the first Thrive Market purchase. I actually was excited about this company. The prices, you just can't beat. My problem with Thrive Market, is the inconsistency within their shipping methods. My order is never within the 1-3 days. This time, my package arrived at the OnTrac facility on a Saturday, when it should have been delivered (Because its been delivered on a Saturday before) BUT NOT THIS TIME! When I called ontrac to pick my package up, they told me Thrive has to give their permission, for me to pick up my package. IS that insane to anyone else? I have to get permission from Thrive, after I have paid for my order, to pick it up? So, I called thrive and they told me "we are not going to be able to help you" I would rather pay premium rates, for goods I want from whole foods, rather than use Thrive. Whoever does the shipping SUCKS! It's never consistent and it pisses me off! I'm waiting for food, not a freaking TV. I want my food when it is promised, not when it is convenient for Thrive.
Hi Lisa- Sorry to hear that! We're here to help. I'll be sending you a private message to see if we can get this resolved for you!
I never leave reviews on anything but this company has made me so angry that I need to make sure people know what are they getting into. Just like the reviews below, I got sucked in with the free month trial. I refused to pay for the membership passed the trial time not knowing that a year after I refused I got charged 59.95 for a renewal membership I never wanted. I called them right away asking for my money back and a cancellation and the rep told me it wasn't possible. All I was able to get was half of my money back with a 6 month membership. I told them right then that I didn't want the membership, I wasn't going to be fooled again in the future. How wrong I was that even when I went into my profile to disable any default payment I got charged again for a full membership 6 months later? I'm so #¡&* right now. They billed my account almost a 100 bucks in less than a year for a service I don't use!
I called them again and after they tried to pull the half membership again I lost it and demanded a confirmation of my account cancellation and my money back.
What a shady and lousy company. I'll make sure to tell everyone I know about this scam. P, ease be smarter than me and stay away from this company!
Hi Mia- I apologize for the experience. As a membership-based company, we offer a 30-day free trial that begins with the first Thrive Market purchase. I liked their products and prices, but stopped using the products I had purchased from them. I called to cancel my membership, but they treated it like I was asking for a divorce and wanted to know why, everything short of going to counseling together, etc. They finally, finally agreed to let me go as a customer and to stop billing me for the annual membership fee - and to stop harrassing me with emails. Well, a month or two later, the $59.95 charge was back on my credit card, and it was a credit card that I am no longer using, so I didn't notice at first.
So, I do not recommend dealing with this company. They must be making most of their profits off of fraudulent membership billings.
Hi Earon—apologies if that came as a surprise. We try to be as transparent as possible about our membership fee, which allows us to offer products at everyday low prices. Just another secret membership company that doesn't carry worth while products... So in order to make money they automatically sign you up for a secret membership that auto drafts your card!
Hi Kyle- As a membership-based company, we offer a 30-day free trial that begins with the first Thrive Market purchase. After the trial, we charge the annual fee for our services, as noted in the policy on the checkout page. We also send trial members an email reminder a few days before the membership is activated. Thrive Market gives you access to the best organic foods and home products, from brands you love, at everyday low prices. Members get exclusive promos, contests, giveaways, and free gifts! It costs less than $5 a month to join and most people find that the membership pays for itself in just 2-3 orders!
A little over 2 years ago I tried Thrive Market ONCE after noticing some endorsements from a few in the Instagram community that I follow. It was alright, but I never placed another order. Today, I discovered that I had a fee on my credit card for a $59.95 annual membership. A deeper dive showed that they also charged me $59.95 last October, and another $59.95 the October before that. I NEVER gave them permission to store my credit card information, let alone permission to continue to charge me for a service I don't use. There was NO mention of a membership. I am currently in the process of getting the most recent charge credited and my "membership" cancelled. From reading the other comments, I clearly have a battle ahead of me. I doubt I'll get anything other than this most recent charge handled.

I received a charge of 64.00 dollars from Thrive Market on my Pay Pal account. I never ordered anything from this company or even knew who they were. Lots of trouble getting in touch with them and PayPal as well. PayPal is acting like it's my fault. Never again I'm canceling PayPal as well.
Hi Mike- I apologize for the experience. I'll be contacting you directly to see if we can locate the charges on our end and resolve the issue.
I got some "free" chocolate in August of 2016 and paid a $1.95 shipping charge on my VISA card. Today, I discovered that I had a fee on my credit card for a $59.95 annual membership fee. Further investigation showed that they also charged me $59.95 last October. I have now paid them $120 for nothing. It seems that there was some fine print that by getting the chocolate, I was instituting a 30 day trial membership and if I did not cancel, I would be charged their fee. No one seems to care that I have never ordered anything during my two alleged memberships. They claim that I got email notices which I did not. Visa is crediting me for the recent "membership" charge, but that free chocolate from 2016 cost me $59.95. I contacted them and although I was able to get the recent charge removed, they couldn't care less about the fee they charged me last year for nothing.
When the company read my issue they were incredibly responsive and although the initially refunded my recent charge, they also went back to 2016 and refunded my unused membership fee. Now that is very responsive and caring customer service!

I never ordered any type of membership from Thrive Market. There was a charge to my paypal account for 64.00? Now I have to go through the hassle of trying to get it reversed. I tried Thrive Market they make it extremely difficult to get in touch with them. Im not even a customer and Im very unhappy with them. Dont order from this company.

Make sure that when you purchase something, you do not request a refund. Say you buy something in AMAZON... refund no questions asked... THRIVE... NO REFUNDS and they will tell you to DONATE the product to someone. They stated: "we are a carbon-conscientious company" BUT they support products that come from cow that are known to cause A MASSIVE amount of carbon monoxide into the environment. They then said, "well... it's been over 7 days and we cannot help you so donate your stuff" but... the reason why it was over 7 days is because they took their sweet time in replying which put me over the 7 day return period. THIS IS NOT A TRUST WORTHY COMPANY.
Hi Aymeth- We appreciate the feedback and apologize for the experience. We do state our return policy on our FAQ page. https://thrivemarket.com/faq. Should you experience any challenges with your purchase, please notify us within 7 days of receiving your order and we're more than happy to help!
Im sick with chronic illness and dont need this hassle right now. Nor to lose 60 bucks when I NEVER SIGNED UP FOR THIS nor used their site... i just found this charge made on my card and had to look it up to find out whats what. Now from what im reading, it will be a pain in the $#*! to get my money. I cant even afford to pay my electric bill let alone see 60 bucks of mine go out the window :( Very angry as many others are. I think a class action law suit is in order to make this and other companies like this know you can screw people like this!

Answer: Do NOT wait for Thrive to cancel. If you do, you'll just find your account charged again next year. Call your CC and change your account!

Answer: Membership is $75 annually but it is less for families who qualify and they donate membership for those in extreme need. I don't know what that limit is. Just the fact they do this is amazing.
Answer: Not well, I am on a med that causes insomnia... actually more than one. And when I do sleep, I wake up feeling unrested.
Answer: Call Thrive's customer service. They really are helpful. If they won't reverse the charge, contact your credit card company and dispute the transaction.

Answer: Contact your bank and challenge the charge. I have shopped with Thrive for almost 4 years. This is a glitch in their system. Any issues I have had have been quickly taken care of. Sorry you didn't have the same experience.
