I wish we could give a zero. I sent in several items and all but one was sold on their sit and all of the items were listed as: This item is in excellent condition. You might mistake it for brand new!. They sold my pieces for a total of $65.94 and what did I get for the pieces I sent in? A whopping $5.80! My co-worker just told me she received her clean out kit from but I told her to use the bag for trash because that is how she will feel when she gets her payment. I spent the $5.80 and deleted my account. You are better off selling on Swap.com or having a garage sale.

Sent in a bag of clothes and there was no rhyme or reason as to what they accepted. Two dresses same style the one from Gap was worn once not accepted. The one from Old Navy worn many times is accepted. There were plenty of other examples that didn't make sense. How could you ever know what to send in. I think that they purposely reject a percentage of what you send in no matter brand or condition.
Also I don't understand why you have to log in just to browse. I'll be using other second hand sites.

This is the WORST! Sent a FULL bag for the first time. Took them 2 months to get to my bag to process. Received an email... finally, that they are not taking anything!
WHAT? ARE THEY FOR REAL? Just about everything in the bag was new. All name brands. Brand new mocs... NEVER WORN from Land's End. New cords... washed only and never worn... etc.
They are pathetic. I am sorry I sent them anything... would have rather given it away myself and never sent it!
DO NOT SEND THEM ANYTHING... they are thieves!
Stay away from ThredUP... It doesn't get any worse than this!

Terrible experience! Sent in a huge bag of clothing. Sixty-eight percent (according to them) were accepted. They were all name brand new or like new. And I can see what they're being sold for. I can see that several items have already sold, in fact. I got a little over $20. Sad! I have used other consignment-type sellers. I expect to make less than what these people are selling my clothes for, but this is ridiculous. DO NOT USE THIS SITE!

Horrible. I have done this type of thing before with decent results. I bought an item from here so thought I would try the sales side. I carefully prepped & looked over items and donated any that weren't in excellent shape, figured I would miss a couple of things just human error. I ran the estimate on their website to see if it would be worth it & estimated about $30 or so. I got less than $9. All my WH|BM jeans were rejected for fading. $90 jeans, distressed style, rejected for fading... really? Some items popped into consignment so they don't have to pay me. Some rejected as "surplus". 14 items sold a few still sitting in "consignment" (a t-shirt sold for $8, I got. 40 for it). Considering the time to wash, prep, pack and ship. I should have just taken the tax write off, at least it would be helpful. For $9, I could have sold in a yard sale. Don't waste your effort, it's a rip off. Also, there were over a month late processing the bag so they had it over 2 months before I even heard from them. When I contacted them to find out what happened to all my items I was dismissed by the CS agent. He later responded and claimed a family emergency after I dinged the service, but he made no mention of that when he dismissed me from the CS chat.

I sent a whole big bag of new clothing with some tags on them, all of which name brands. And what I got was a 35 cent balance after they processed the bag and accepted 14 of my items. Didn't look that closely, but one of the items they accepted, which was a tank top, they are charge 13.99 for it! If this is not sheer robbery, I dunno what is. I guess they just scam all the first time users cuz I know for a fact nobody is dumb enough to go back to them.
Never sell or buy from them!

Thred up are robbing people of their unwanted clothing. I sent in name brand clothing, nice sweaters and suits, suit jackets, I know more than 3 items were usable because I take good care of my clothing. Do you know for a whole bag of clothing I received a credit for $1.55. What a rip off. Will never use them again, or shop there even with the 40% off. Items are regularly priced online and they barely give a return to those who provide clothing for their sales.

I packed a bag full of almost new items. Some had tags. They accepted 8 items. I got a check for $18.05. One of the items was a couture cream blouse that I paid $175 for. I thought I would at least get 5 bucks for it! Another item they accepted was brand new lucky slides. If you don't care and just want to clean out your closet. It is no hassle, ship it and you'll get a $10 check for your time. Ebay resell or consignment will be more of a hassle but you will get more if you have good stuff. Hopefully, they send all of the rejects to hurricane victims. Shopping online for clothing is great. Selling SUCKS!

I am so upset that I did Thred Up. I would have been better off donating the clothes to someone in need or trying to sell them at a local consignment. I sent a very large full bag of nice Maternity clothes worn a few times during my pregnancy (mostly work like clothes, blouses, dresses), 22 items in total well worth over $500. They took 2 months to process and only gave me $18. I check often and of those 22 items they have already sold more than half of them for $11+ each item. Such a rip off. They take your nice clothes telling you they will compensate you fairly for what they will get and then turn around and sell them for a very large profit to them. Shame on them!

All over the site they are begging for plus sizes to resell. A good friend drops lots of weight, I gather over 20 items of her barely worn clothes, all good brand names. Two pairs of Ralph Lauren jeans with tags still attached. Sent to Duluth. They accepted 8 items, (not the jeans) and I got $3 for the effort. In the past I felt like I was getting more money for the items. Now (and I have had this feeling before) I feel that the sorters are keeping things they like. Maybe as a seller sign up for the items being returned, but then you would end up with minus dollars in this case! Now they are starting to request costume jewelry. No way! That would be so easy to steal.
