I love to thrift but with five young kids I can't just run to the thrift store whenever I want to. ThredUp makes it possible to thrift shop from home! And they've already weeded through the junk so I get to just shop nice name brand stuff! And I love all the filters! It makes finding what I want so easy! And I love being rewarded for bringing new customers to ThredUp! I'm a stay at home mom so it's really fun to get a little free spending money! Thank you ThredUp!
The process time for selling clothes is ridiculous. And in the end you don't get much money for them.
Unfortunately, most of the jeans I bought didn't fit me, but I was able to return them. The two that did, though, I just love. I am very happy with the quality of all the jeans I bought, even the ones that didn't fit.
I sent some items that were rejected by two local resale shops, and thredUP accepted and paid for quite a few of them, so I don't want to complain. I'm sure everyone who sends in clothes thinks the items are worth more than they are, and I am no exception. It's just hard to see an item for which I received $2.00 being sold for about $14. But, then again, all I had to do was put it in a bag and send it with free shipping. Someone there had to display it nicely, photograph it, process an order, pack and ship it, etc., plus all of the expenditures and work of the business. So, again, I don't want to complain. I've sent several bags to thredUP and I'm pretty happy with my outcome overall.
I shop a lot with Thredup. The majority of my purchases are wonderful. Easy reruns for those I don't love. Except handbags? Not returnable. Not sure why. But interior photos are not available.
I've made several purchases for kids clothes and so far everything has arrived exactly as pictured/described. However, I really need to give 5 stars directly to LeAndrea from customer service. Somehow (i think when i linked my payment through my amazon account) I accidentally chose the wrong shipping address- and discovered it too late- LeAndrea sent a prepaid shipping label to my sisters email so that they could redirect my package from South Carolina to Illinois- at no additional charge. THAT is above and beyond in my opinion. :)
First bag=reasonable payouts. Even with high end threads, payout was 90cents an item with second and third bags. Pathetic, gap, tea collection, Hanna Anderson, talbots. Better off doing consignment at your local consignment shop.
I emailed thredup and have not received a response nor have I received any details on the return I initiated almost a week ago.
I am consistently pleased with my purchases. I love that when I buy clothes for my little (not on ThredUp) I know that I can offset the costs by selling back or trading in. Absolutely the way to go!
I've sent items in through Thred-Up twice... all like-new or new with tags, relevant brands. The first time I did not opt for return service and got beat on a nearly new, navy leather Michael Kors bag. Made zero sense that they didn't accept it but totally my fault for not pre-checking that they would/opting for the return service. Lesson learned.
The second time I had 9 items accepted, some of which were brand new with tags, and included items from Michael Kors, Juicy Couture, and Jessica Simpson. My payout (before return service) was $32.78. My items listed combined were to sell for 160.91... that's less than 20% payout.
I realize they have a payout percentage structure listed on their site but honestly, just feels like it's criminal. To end up with $19 in my pocket after all is said and done with the return shipping for unaccepted items, I'd rather just donate my clothes to someone in need next time. So unless you're really hard up for pocket change and can't figure out how to sell stuff yourself on eBay or find a consignment shop, I'd steer clear.

I have submitted an order for a nine wesy crossover bag in white multiple times, but it does not go through. I have never received a confirmation email saying the order was placed.
I love the convenience of threadup. So much easier than rummaging through consignment shops. I have always found great deals and had superb customer service.
Overall, ThreadUp has been an okay place to order from. However, packages regularly arrive a day or two late, and sometimes items are not as described. In addition to this, if you decide to return something, you have to pick between instore credit or an $8.00 reshelving fee.
The jeans came in good shape, they were to long and one pair I did not like, sent them back last week
I have sent in numerous thredup bags and have made over $1,330 using the service. However, I feel that the processing of the bags is a little delayed, as is the release of funds. Further more, I have sent in some premium designer clothing in great condition that wasn't accepted - why?
Thank you SO much for providing quality recycled items at very affordable prices! EBay, Goodwill, et al better watch out - they don't' stand a chance with you in the neighborhood now!
I am not sure what to think yet. I picked out a lot of good name brand clothing and from what I can see, only one item was accepted. I have already sent another bag and have a bag ready to go but am hesitating to send anything else.
I guess I am not sure what you are looking for other than NEW clothes...
