I can't stay off this site. I give myself a $50-60 budget and I always come away with at least 5 pieces, sometimes 7 or 8. It's a budget friendly way to enhance my wardrobe, especially returning to a corporate dress code after years of casual wear.
Everything I bought was in good quality, and the prices are great-especially with the discounts that they sometimes have.
I have had a great experience with ThredUp as both a buyer and seller. They make everything incredibly easy as a seller. They pay fair prices and also set consignment prices that are reasonable but also adjustable. I have also bought many items from their selection and the descriptions are accurate as well as priced fairly.

I wonder if some times clothes are "available" to ThredUp as they did not sell as the sizes were not accurate... because the incorrect label was put on the garment. It seems to happen too often. So far things have been smaller than expected.
Great shopping fast delivery. I did send a bag of clothes that was lost but I was issued a 100$ credit. I was disappointed with that part and probably won't trade my clothes in again but I will continue to shop.

I love the idea of Thred Up, and I got very good service in terms of the clean out bag being sent and my orders being filled. However, very few of the items I donated were accepted for resale, despite my feeling that they were of very good quality and in good condition, so it is not a very good system for me.
In addition, some of my credits appear to have been 'lost'. I didn't quibble about it because it wasn't a large amount of money. I did determine, though, that once my last transaction was complete I would discontinue using thredUP.
I would still recommend it to other people, as they may have a better experience than I did.
It is really fun to look through Designer dresses and shoes and see that I can find my size and some wonderful styles that I would otherwise never buy because of the original prices. I have purchased a couple pairs of shoes (Blanik and St. Laurent) and several dresses (Trina Turk etc.) and have been very pleased. For years I shopped at a second hand shop in Austin to enhance my work wardrobe (i am a professor-now retired)--getting things like a $500 cashmere and wool jacket for $99. Smart shopping!
The purses and wallets I have ordered have been perfect, and delivery was much quicker even than promised. I am so impressed with this site!
