The Real Real has so many choices and such great sales. I feel as if I'm shopping in some very special place, as I peruse the rare and unusual jewelry, clothing, shoes, home and art items.
My assigned reps for selling have been very kind and helpful!
Everything about Real Real is real easy. You simply run down the list of things you want in a product - size, color, price, designer brand if appropriate etc. - and then hit "go" and it shows you all the things that match your needs. Then you get to check it out up close and get a description of any flaws. Ordering is simple. Delivery is fast. I've never had to return anything because the descriptions of the product and the images they show match up with what you get. Simple, easy and terrific.
I've had an excellent selling experience so far. The selling reps are professional, friendly and efficient. There is room for improvement on the shopping side, however. Shipping and return charges could be waived/free (esp for frequent sellers/shoppers) and the item processing could be more careful. I've purchased and received dirty items that should have been washed before consignment and had to send photos of the stains in order to return the dirty item with the shipping fee waived. The customer service reps are also friendly and professional.
I ordered three dresses and kept one. The other two were returned and I was credited for the return fairly quickly. The quality of all the dresses was impressive.
The skirt that goes together with the jacket was not accepted. It's a suit so should go together. I sent two emails about the issue but was never resolved.
Quick, easy, and accurate purchasing process. My purchased is exactly as it was described online. In great condition. The only problem that I found was that the item Color looked very different online than it did in person. I still love it though!
I specified size 10, checked the measurements and they were correct, but was sent a size 0 and it was far too small. It was a final sale item so I couldn't do anything about it. Waste of money, won't be using this service again

I only purchase items with tags. And I love all. I don't like items that are worn and look real bad. I have purchase second hands Gucci bags and I regretted it.the bags were peeling and one came with perfume scent as if someone empty a bottle of not-so-nice smelling perfume. Plus I never get a full refund therefore I ended up with a lost.

A little more accessible and structured than other online consignments shops, but same issues with misrepresented quality and odors not mentioned in the items description. Will probably stick with the occasional in store visit rather than taking the risk of ordering online.

I followed the instructions to return a Cavalli blouse with authorization number RMA*******. The package was delivered April 22 to The Real Real "inside delivery." As of yet, I have had no notice/communication from Returns. I sent an email to the Returns, Contact, and Customer Service addresses on April 28 to inquire about the return. Customer Service replied with a kind note and a $25 credit.
While I appreciate the credit, I would like for the return to be completed and my account credited.
Amazing. Items looked hardly worn. Every item was special. I wish the prices dropped down a little more on YSL. Lol
Whenever I contact TRR's customer service, it's never easy. It doesn't matter if it's through phone or email, the rep doesn't understand my issue, so I explain it again, then I'm blamed for the problem or told that regardless of the problem I have to pay shipping, so I have explain the issue yet again. I've never dealt with a company that was so quick to deflect the issue back to the customer. Also, shipping is very expensive and no matter how much you spend, you are never offered free shipping. These experiences have left me going to other sites that offer friendly service and reasonable shipping rates.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
