When ordering from Canada you pay for shipping but also end up paying extra costs to UPS for COD charges and customs, I have ordered from others on line and shipping is usually free with no hidden cost, not sure why it happens on this site. Product is good quality but end up paying a lot more than listed price
They are the worst customer service ever. After you called 10 times, they still not able to solve your problem.
Impossible to get anyone capable on the phone to resolve problems. Everything seems disorganized and chaotic in terms of keeping track of paying commissions and informing all parts of the company about what's happening. Difficult time even returning items in the store. In the past was shortchanged on return $ twice and had to go back to have it corrected.
O ordered something, there was a mixup in the warehouse, the item was no longer available, I got a full refund and store credit.
Per The Real Real's policy, if you request your item to be returned to you, they are required to unlist the item and send it back to you if it has not yet been sold. On May 21st, 2021, I was feeling sentimental about a bag that I had listed but had not yet been sold. A Real Real service Rep had given me email confirmation that my Chanel bag was unlisted and I would receive tracking info it is being shipped back to me shortly.
To my very unpleasant surprise, on June 9th I received an email that the same bag that should have been on it's way to me had been sold to another customer! When I frantically called customer service, I was given the run around that they made a mistake and never unlisted my bag. To try and make amends I was promised 100% commission when all I wanted was my bag back. After several weeks, they never updated the commission rate and are now saying we will only give you 85%.
I actually only want my bag back and this whole situation is completely unacceptable. They have kept me in limbo for 3 or 4 weeks and I have to chase and call and email, stay on hold for hours. My calls gets dropped and I'm repeating myself over and over again... It's extremely frustrating and all the while, the mistake was on their part.
This has been the most traumatic online retail experience I have ever experienced--such an extreme disregard for customers. The Real Real pays no attention to customer service ticket turnaround time and the consignor department is unorganized with and all around lack of professionalism. You may as well do all the work yourself and post on poshmark.
I am not one to sit and write online reviews as I have young children and many responsibilities. I wholeheartedly DO NOT recommend this website for any purpose! It's just not worth the lack of care and accountability.
I have been a long time customer and I have been happy and satisfied every time! They have great sales all the time and have the most extensive selection. They also package the goods very well so it arrives in great condition.
The belt I purchased could not be returned and had no way to hook. This was not in details. Everything else was fine but the belt was a waste of money and not explained accurately.
I never received a shoe that you claim was delivered. I feel it strange not to hear back in regards to this claim after so long.

I reached out to customer service because I had been told my order would ship in two shipments, but I only received one. They got back to me quickly, were extremely polite, and respectful, and did all the right things to make the situation right. So long as they actually do what they said they would, I think the customer service is absolutely excellent.
After I had a previous confusion about what could and could not be returned (I had thought some items could be returned for my monty back, but when I tried TRR would only take them as consignment), I specifically checked all items I bought in another order to make sure each one clearly said "this item can be returned". However, when I tried to return some items within a week due to improper fit, they would only take them as a re-consignment. Some items that stated they only take them as a re-consignment were then sent back to me saying they would no longer accept clothes from that designer (even though I just bought it from them). Unfortunately, because there is no way to know for sure if an item can actually be returned for my money back, I will never use TRR for clothes again unless I have seen and tried on the exact item in person somewhere else because I just paid a whole lot of money just to try on some clothes that didn't fit right. I think they purposely make the return policy unclear so that they can make money on customers misunderstanding it.

I have e mailed customer service over a week ago and have not heard back about where my missing package containing the Ulla Johnson dress is. Please advise on next steps to either finding my package or opening a claim for a refund.

Customer service was quick to accept the return which I appreciate, but would encourage closer attention to the condition of the garments. Several knits in supposed excellent condition have arrived with holes. TRR has always made returns easy, just wish I didn't have to.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
