As soon as I placed my order, so one called me to sell my things on their site. I received items that were bad and damaged. When I called that same rep, they told me my items were only available for re sale and not for refund. Even though I called the same week I received them. Two of my items sold for over 40 bucks each. This month I'm expecting $25 for both. In other words they are making money from me, and I lost money. Two other items are posted still. Do not fall for this scam.
I was a day or two late past my return date and I called in and they were so nice and granted me an extension. I am so grateful to The Real Real for this and it just is really nice that they were willing to do that. It is always a wonderful experience with The Real Real.
I put in a complaint and was told they would investigate, over 10 days later they still haven't done a thing.
I've been a long time shopper of the real real, and they are going downhill. Their customer service is the worst customer service. I will not shop with them anymore. I will go the Rebag instead. I had two items put in my cart, they pulled them out of my cart and sold them to somebody in the store. They are cricked!
I have had multiple horrible experiences, they have listed my items as very good when they are new with tags, they lose Manolo Shoe boxes with shoes that have been worn once and returned to me only because one of the heel rubber pads was a bit askew, returned without the box, Prada sandals returned in the box for no apparent reason and the same for No. 6 clogs. In addition a Ten Thousand Things necklace which the designer and owner of the company attested it was theirs RR returned because they said it did not have a signature. ZERO consignor relations. Its a joke. No one to talk to really unless you have a point person come to your house and then maybe, idk. They would not have a business without us. what would they have to sell :). You decide if its worth it to you.
Great customer service. Great prices and great return policy. I purchased a LV bag and several years later I went to get it repaired. The store manager said it was a fake and I told the folks at Real they refunded my money promptly.
I purchased a handbag listed as being in "Very Good" condition. That was not true. I'm starting to wonder if anyone really reviews this purse at all because there was an old chapstick left in the side pocket.
I bought my first Chloe bag, and the quality is amazing! The description mentioned why it received their rating of "very good", but you never know what it'll look like in person. It came with the auth. Cards, booklet, etc. and in beautiful condition! Super happy! Got a great deal on it since the color isn't sold in stores, but the bag still is. $639 for a $1400 bag! <3
Horrible customer service. Were exceptionally responsive and helpful when I purchased or sent in a consignment, but as soon as they are issues they bounce you around reps for weeks. My first issue - I sent in expensive earrings six months ago for consignment, but they weren't accepted. Rather than shipping it back to the return address, they shipped it to a random address 45 minutes away?! I have no idea where this place is, or what. I have emailed and called dozens of times, with "we're working on it and we'll get back to you" responses and that's it.
The second issue was when I tried to return clothing that did not fit me worth $100s. When it got to their warehouse, they logged it as a consignment rather than a return (giving me back only a fraction of the cost if it sells). I have again called and email dozens of times with no actual resolution. Absolutely ridiculous and illegal.
Great prices great fines best second-hand designer stuff you can find on the web.
Some items seem overpriced for being used and there is mandatory shipping on all orders. Some things don't fit and when you return them you technically don't get fully reimbursed because of the shipping. I have lost more money on shipping costs than what I've bought. Also, commissions on items are a little disappointing.
Late, ENT route to wrong destination and eventually received. First time experienced.
I've been shopping with TRR for the last 4 years and recently purchased 2 pairs of expensive shoes (1 as a present) and they both look fake. Contacted a Customer Services straight away and they still haven't resolved my issue nor acknowledge my follow up emails for the last 2 weeks. Ignorance is not a customer service and I'm truly disappointed.
My earlier review was incorrect- due to no fault of The RealReal, my package was delivered to an unusual place and was not discovered for over six weeks.
The actual postage was very fast from the US to Australia, and all items are in excellent condition.
Very happy customer!
The items were all great, but the sizing was so off, I didn't fit in any of the pants I bought. Then, I didn't realize how short the return window was, so I missed that too.
I was told that I could send items back for store credit. When I immediately replied back that I would like to, I received no response. I have tried several additional times to follow up with this, and have not been successful.
Additionally, they are now requiring consignors to submit their Social Security Numbers in order to receive payouts or site credit for their consignments. This is absurd and a total violation of privacy. No other consignment site requires this. I will not do this, and therefore will not send any additional items to be sold on The Real Real.
I shopped for the first time, and found two amazing items. Unfortunately had to return one and consign one—size issues. But I learned how to size couture, so ready for next time. The staff was amazing and both processes so user friendly.
When i brought my handbags to the palo alto store i was disappointed that the person did not wear gloves to handle the alligator handbag.
I dropped of a dress for sale and the listing does not show the belt that was part of the dress. Now warehouse is searching for the lost belt- meaning further delay of sales
I am surprised there was no description or receipt of the items when I drop off the items…
My other items are still not sold yet. Things don't sell as fast as i hope
I tried purchasing items from the site but had to return all of them. The item description is minimum. No brand tag or size tag. The measurement of the dresses are off and sometimes does not make sense. I buy brand that i am familiar with and that i know sizing will work if only you can show me the actual size of item. For example for ted baker dresses you actually said designer size 1,2 or 3. Other brands you don't do them
Also for Hermes birkin and kelly bag, you don't even list the date stamp or code so no way to know how old the bag is and whether authentic or not
I purchased a pair of shoes that said include shoe bag. When the items arrived at my home, there was no shoe bag.
Overall, I feel the warehouse is a mess!
I consigned hundreds of designer ties and many other items. Picked up by a nice guy that knew nothing of the myriad of unacceptable items. Ermenegildo Zegna is not an "authorized designer" for the Real REAL... really? Trafalger braces? Might as well just say no braces. Whole categories were unacceptable. A waste of time at best. Was told I had the opportunity to take back items I felt were listed too low and yet each time I tried, I waited and waited until they were sold at the stupid price. They still have items I have asked for back for a long time. This watch winder is one of two I have asked to be returned multiple times and remains listed.

I feel they have outright stolen these things from me as they refuse to answer emails or phone calls any longer. A sham.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if this does not answer your questions or if you feel that the explanations provided were not applicable to your situation. You can reach out to our Customer Service Department at (855) 435 5893 from 8am to 5pm (PST). If you would like to speak to a supervisor directly, please feel free to ask for Caitlin from our NJ office. She is available from 9am to 6pm (EST) and of course you can reach us via email at: [email protected].
Answer: If you like to be frustrated, disappointed and want to take a few years off your life, then yes consign with the real real.
Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,
Answer: Hello, We are sorry to hear of your concerns. If you can please send us your order number or email address we will happily research this further.
Answer: Hi Frank, Thank you for reaching out. We apologize you have seen more negative than positive reviews. We would be pleased to advise you on our consignment process and share a little more insight about the RealReal.
Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
Answer: I have returned things with no hassle at all.
