I placed an order for 4 items online from the RealReal. I received one item, wasn't happy, so I returned it. It took several days, but the other 3 items finally shipped out. When I opened the box, I found that the items I ordered were not sent. I was sent children's math work books. I contacted The RealReal immediately, alerting them to the issue. After over a month, and no progress made on figuring out where the correct items were, I demanded a refund. The customer service was just not helpful. I told them repeatedly the problem was NOT with UPS. The box had my name and address on it label. UPS did their job. The RealReal warehouse screwed up, whether purely accident, or with malicious intent of the packer, stealing the items, and shipping others in lieu. It was just terrible from top to bottom. After multiple calls and emails, I had to ask for them to give me a refund, and I had to ask for further compensation, given all the hassle I had to go through to advocate for my items. This, plus a poor experience consigning items earlier this year, have really put me off this company. It has just been poorly managed from the ground us. Where has good customer service and decency gone? No one cares anymore...

On this occasion I purchased two dress from brands I love and have purchased before. When the items came in the sizes and conditions were just as expected. One item even still had the tags on but was about a third of the price listed! I was so excited to have such a beautiful new dress and bought it for such a good deal!

I purchased 18K drop earrings costing over 1K…. Condition was described as good. When they arrived they were scratched and heavy wear and tear, so much that I plan to sell for scrap value…. Never will wear. This is the second purchase that hasn't been happy with so I will not make anymore purchases from your site.

I've shopped at the Real Real several times, and consign there as well. It's a great way to cycle through unwanted merchandise while also discovering something new for a fraction of its original price. Orders are always shipped quickly and returns are handled efficiently. Plus, the sustainability model is good for the planet!
The RealReal used to be so fun to shop in and they took great care to provide good customer service. Now, it seems they have outsourced or something because they can't seem to do anything right. First they sent me the wrong size shoe, and it took almost a month to get a site credit for this. Now when I go to use the site credit, it tells me my card is declined, despite the fact that I have a huge credit line and I tried other cards, paypal and my bank account. The chat people are totally useless and tell me to wait 48 hours (?). The phone people are equally as useless and tell me to call back tomorrow (shoes will be gone by then) and then place me on interminable hold. It should never be this hard for someone to give a company their business.

I got a great deal on a winter jacket. The description claimed it was a size large, but when it arrived there was a size label in the neckline that clearly said M. In most cases that stands for medium. It was final sale, and when I emailed them I got a vague response but no approval to return it. I have ordered many things and have overlooked the claimed condition because that's a very subjective thing. This was just negligence.

I bought the wrong size in the Christian Louboutin shoes and Manolo Blahnik which ran a full size smaller. I was able to return and get a credit without any problem. Thank you
This time I bought several pairs of pants. Being that in my other purchases there has been no problem with the sizing I thought I would go for the pants. And of the two I got for me 1 was really off, and sadly it was too small. And the shoes are beautiful but also it said they were 3.75 high and are a little bit higher. I was able to wear them for a few hours. But anyway I will keep buying from this site Just be careful with reading descriptions. And the real real it would be wonderful if you had a live chat or somewhere to post questions about items

The Real Real is a great way to recycle clothes we wear once or for whatever reason; we don't wear at all. I also buy from the Real Real and almost always LOVE my pics. The only thing I can say that may me a problem sometimes the measurements are completely wrong. Overall love the Real Real
Easy online shopping. Fast delivery. Only suggestion is having a few more days to return items that don't fit. The window of time for returns is quite short. I missed my return deadline bc I had been very sick. I called and the CSR was kind and allowed my return.

Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
