They sold my new designer piece for a 4th of the price, over 1k paid for and I got 250 when dust settled. I can give my own clothes away. Would have better luck local consignment shop giving them half or Poshmark I never lose more then 200. Unless you like crying don't do it……who authorized them to give away others clothes. Fool me once —-shame on me, fool me twice, won't get fooled again…..
I've feel lied to and cheated - talk about bait-and-switch between the come-on and the received results! This company's lack of ethics clearly shows they're trying to avoid bankruptcy, screwing their "customers" out of everything they can get before they go under. Don't front them ANYTHING and leave the chance they'll owe you! I sent an original-price $150 shirt NWT for them to sell, in return they sent me $4.40. After charging me $10 to send that in a check (I was given no choice on, I'd prefer electronic payment - no cost to receive my money faster - so here they play the float on mail time for all of their checks, AND charge the customer a hidden $10 fee?!). Meanwhile, I'd never have sold the shirt through them if I had ANY idea I'd receive so little - their website shows they sold my item for $72. They sent me $4. You do the math. I might as well have gone through Goodwill. AND their customer service is heavily-accented Indian, who plead helplessness to resolve.
Tells me they can't find my order When I have more than $4000 missing from my bank account! I will NEVER shop from this site again they are a scam!
My mother died and had many high end items. My sister and I called TRR and talked pretty extensively with someone who later stopped responding no matter how many times I tried to reach her. Finally I was put in touch with someone responsive and we ended up sending in 76 items over a year ago. Some did well and some didn't but the ANNOYING thing is that 4 or 5 items are listed as pending and no amount of calling or emailing has resolved this. If they are unsuitable, send them back! I can't get any answers. Would not deal with them again!
I sent my Russian sable coat to be sold by the Real Real - they advertised it as Faux & sold it for $395 - I purchased it for over $40,000. There is NO resolution. Also they do not use humans to price item - they use algorithms to sell items as quickly as possible. I have earned probably over $100,000. For the real real - I will never consign anything with them again. DONE
I sent and item valued at 799.00. I waited 3 months to post the item suddently I received an email that my item was posted for sale forn $355 within hours it sold. I emailed them right away to remove the item and they did not get my emails. They took 40% comission. Also another item in New condition they posted as used and I got a big loss. Do not consigned with them. They are the worst. They only care about their comission not their customers.
I came across this platform and I was like 'oh yea I've found a place to sell my stuffs' so i sent several items to them and waited for like a month I couldn't find my item on my roster but it was showing on their website, I called their customer care and they weren't responding well. I have been going back and forth with them over this for a while now, and my most expensive items are still missing! I had to reach out to uncac.net and after a few paper works and all I was able to recover my items back.
The worst customer service imaginable. They outsource to India, don't have "managers" you can speak to because apparently they don't take "calls", they don't want to help, and they are LIARS. Also, they don't know what profane language is, as I was told to not use profanities when I told them "this is the worst customer service ever"-never heard that one before lol I suppose that's what happens when you outsource to different countries instead of giving jobs to the millions in America who need work. Company went sooo downhill I'm shocked it hasn't shut down yet.
In order to return a handbag within a few days, buyers have to purchase "return insurance" from a 3rd party company. Any clothing you buy from them -whether scarf or other wearables- are in offensively poor condition. None of them have been dry cleaned. ALL of them SMELL QUITE TERRIBLE- with someone else's perfume, stale, dust, or simply body odor. Will never buy from them again!
I sent several items to them and waited few weeks. I could see my items on their website but not in my roster. Called their customer care and they required photos of the items so they can find them. I have been going back and forth with them over this for a while now, and my most expensive items are still missing! Plus they are very pushy asking for more items to send them! The pricing is really bad! You end up getting peanuts on whatever they sell. I learned my lesson; never again! Scammers!
I really like a lot about real real. First, the webpage design is so efficient and easy, really very good. Best shopping web site around.
Purchasing and returns are easy too. So much good! I do like shopping here more than selling. I see many listings that are posted incorrectly. Men's items in women's section, sweaters listed as blouses, incorrect descriptions. If you are selling, once your items are posted, I would recommend checking to make sure they are
Listed correctly. The problem is, if item is posted wrong, a shoppers search won't find it and you will see the price dwindle because it is sitting for so long. Just check!
As a seller don't waste your time. You're better off donating or selling in garage sale. They are cheap and give you nothing for expensive items. They sold about 2 items which I originally paid ~$900. They both sold relatively quickly and would've been a steal for their customers as I item I wore once and the other item never. My payment was $38. They suck
I have a brand new pair of YSL shoes i want to sale it on this website since my shoes didn't not fit me good so after i didn't talk and text to the Lady name HALLE JOHNSON we did agree on the price that will not sale too low and before they sale the shoes they will notify me on my email or text me if i agrees then they will sale it so i send my shoes out to them around November and today i just text her to tell her resend my shoes back she gave me the #******* to text them so i can request it return back to me i did that and they told me that my shoes was sold for way below the price that me and HALLE JOHNSON was talked about so i call her right away and all she can told me is she apologized for misunderstanding since my shoes is not a hand bags like Chanel's or Louis Vuitton so i can't sale it the price i want so i told her why she never said that to me before if she ever tell me like that i would never will send my shoes out to them for not even quarters of the price of my brand new shoes i will keep it she told me unfortunately the shoes is sold so nothing she can do and I don't even know who can i talk to after i been called them so many times they keep on put me on a long wait list and let's me texted back and forth with god know whoever keeps said they sorry, so PLEASE BE CAREFUL ABOUT THIS COMPANY myself never again on my life i would do any business with this Company specifically the lady name HALLE JOHNSON i would never forget that name and this lying Company
Said in the title. If you're looking to buy, it's not so bad. Prices are a bit high, but the grading of the quality of items is fair enough.
However, I would highly advise against selling to them. The amount of time it takes them to process and money you receive back is ridiculous. You could sell it on Facebook marketplace super cheap. You would get the money faster and receive more money as well.
Two of my items sold for $330 & I received $125. I was told it was 30%. When I consigned it said I would receive 60%. What a scam.
I bought a Celine bag from TRR that was mislabeled and in poor condition. I sent the bag back to TRR the next day, and it was returned for being in too poor of condition. I complained to TRR that they had authenticated this bag themselves and put it on their platform for others to buy and are now rejecting mine. I requested a refund but that was denied.
I was so sorely disappointed with my experience. Would not recommend buying from or consigning with TRR
I have been selling with the real real for YEARS and they have consistently got worse in their integrity. Today I found in the last two days they priced and immediately discounted then sold a big brand purse of mine without my consent. It was a very expensive item and the agreement was they had to approve the pricing with me and I also stated NO DISCOUNTS were ever to be applied. Yet they suddenly after I inquired about it secretly put it on their site, then immediately discounted it and sold it for a ridiculous price. I am taking legal action against them if they do not return my unconsented sale of my purse immediately.
They took your items, from home pretends like legit thief, their agent doesn't says that they will sell it very cheap sometimes 10% from retail price, and they will charge you for your check 10$(my items was sold 2 months ago, i still waiting a checks, lol), and guess how much they count i'd get for shoes i bought retail price 1500$ ( they says i'll get 22$ but -10$ for check) OMG! Are you guys seious? When your agent were leaving with a bag of my clothes and this shoes from my house, she told me i could sell it for 300-400$ at least, eventually without my permission they sold it for 100$ each so i only get 25$ per item and 10$ i owe them for a check, so litteraly after paying for check i'd get nothing or 10$, what the hell is your bussines about?...DO NOT SELL HERE, YOU'LL GET NOTHING BUT PAIN IN $#*! BECAUSE THEY ONLY PROMISEES to send you check or to sell it high price, but reality compleetly diferent!
I had 3 issues with RealReal in the course of 2 years using this company as a consignor and buyer. The latest issue was with a jacket that was listed as a women item (see attached), it was non-returnable
but based on the measurement I thought it would be the right fit and I purchased it. When I put it it on, I realized that it is a men's blazer, but the customer service refused to accept a return.
I sent an $800 retail formal dress in excellent condition for consignment. In just a few weeks, the price declined on the site to $24. I asked for the dress to be returned to me at that point, as allowed by their T&C. It's been 2 months, and they still have my dress. Each time I contact them they say it's been "expedited" and I'll receive it in 2 weeks. Today, they said 4 weeks because of a "long queue of expedited items." What? Sounds like a scripted plan to keep items from consigners who will likely give up after several weeks of this runaround.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if this does not answer your questions or if you feel that the explanations provided were not applicable to your situation. You can reach out to our Customer Service Department at (855) 435 5893 from 8am to 5pm (PST). If you would like to speak to a supervisor directly, please feel free to ask for Caitlin from our NJ office. She is available from 9am to 6pm (EST) and of course you can reach us via email at: [email protected].
Answer: If you like to be frustrated, disappointed and want to take a few years off your life, then yes consign with the real real.
Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,
Answer: Hello, We are sorry to hear of your concerns. If you can please send us your order number or email address we will happily research this further.
Answer: Hi Frank, Thank you for reaching out. We apologize you have seen more negative than positive reviews. We would be pleased to advise you on our consignment process and share a little more insight about the RealReal.
Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
Answer: I have returned things with no hassle at all.
