I've been a longtime shopper of the RealReal and love some of my finds, but lately the cost for shipping + duties is so high it's not worth it. I recently ordered a pair of shoes that were listed as size 39, and they arrived a size 42. After duties and the RealReal requiring I pay for return shipping I could have bought a new pair. Unlikely I'll be back anytime soon.

The sweater I purchased had holes in it. The photos and listing did not show any holes. TRR should have looked that sweater. I can not understand how they missed these holes.

I bought a wallet about a month ago that was supposed to be new per the description the website and I received a used wallet with no serial number anywhere to be found. I contacted The Real Real on 11/8/2021, they told me they were going to look into it and to this day, I haven't heard back from them. I do not recommend this site at all.

At first it looks wonderful, all high end clothing and accessories. However what you see on the site and order it's not the same I ordered 3 pairs of jeans 2 out of the three were not what I received, sizing all wrong. And on the two my answer was exactly the same as if it's recorded Credit to your account $11.95 So you can't get out. I'm sure in the beginning it was great. However I would be cautious. What you see is not what you get.

Terrible customer service. They are super helpful before you send your items in, but once they have them it is almost impossible to get any customer service. I have spent at least 8 hours trying to get in touch with my contact, the real real phone number, text... you name it. I have even received drunk text messages from the original contact number I had in the middle of the night. So unprofessional. I deeply regret consigning my items with them.

I have been waiting over a month for a refund on a pair of boots that were sent back in the same

On more than one occasion TRR has rejected a consignment for a final sale. This is concerning because the consignment was never worn by me due to sizing issues. So I reconsign it only to have them reject it because of stains. Let alone the stains where on the garment and noted in the description and photographed by TRR. I'm still fighting with them on one dress which it kills me they rejected due to stains. Yes and I sent them screen shots of the dress they posted highlighting the stain at the collar which they noted in the description. The double standards is mind blowing. But I am hopeful TRR will acknowledge the mistake.

When trying to deal with an issue, you can no longer speak to customer service... you must text the entire conversation. My problem was complicated and lengthy and took FOREVER to solve. Luckily the customer service agent was able to fix the problem and did apologize for not being able to call, but I am getting very tired of texting problems as there seem to be more than usual with this company lately.

I sent a piece of jewelry in for consignment and they told me it unacceptable due to being resized. I thought they must be thinking of someone else's item. Nope, it took me over 2 months to get someone else's, not mine, item back and sure enough it wasn't the ring that I originally sent them. In fact, it was a ring that had been resized. Oh and I had to help the so called experts authenticate the ring. Their word against mine, so I guess I'm out of luck. I will no longer do business with an unethical, dishonest, unorganized business. Don't send them anything of value, as you'll be sorry. Believe the negative reviews, it will save you frustration and disappointment. I'll give things away before they'll make any more commission off of me. Just note, when they place an item on the website they will immediately take an additional 20% off. What ever happened to waiting 30 days? They're out to make money for them not you.

Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
