I bought so called "Max Mara Trench Coat, size L" from realreal about a month ago. As soon as I received the package, I can tell the coat is fake. There were so many things wrong with coat. First, size is off, it marked as L (max mara don't label their coat S, M & L except for knitwear). I am true US8, IT42 which is M. This L coat barely fits me. Second, the coat has famous Burberry nova check pattern like lining. Big red flag. I reported this issue to real real and returned the coat right away. Nobody from realreal contacted me regarding this issue and I never received the refund for this coat more than a month later.
I finally got in touch with Customer Service. They told me that refund has not been issued because this fake coat is still under re-authentication process.
This is just not acceptable.
I purchased an expensive Louis Vuitton bag. Was supposed to be ‘real' in excellent condition with no signs of wear. Product was not real! No numbered tag inside and they put a fake paper number in the pocket for the wrong style, (Louis does not do this at all). Tear by the zipper and stained inside. On a good note. Even though it was a non refundable purchase the proof was in the photos and they fully refunded me when I returned the bag. Excellent customer service but you need to know what you are looking for.

I gave ten very expensive and bran new items in for consignment. They listed two item for only $40. I purchased these items less then five months ago for $630 each plus tax. They sold the item without even reviewing the list price with me in a matter of two days when it was told to be it would take two weeks for the item to go live. My final profit on these items were only $12. This is ridiculous and I feel like I'm being scammed! This is a extreme loss without my consent. If you list your items with real real expect to get ripped off. It is also impossible to get anyone on the phone to discuss the issue. Bran new Burberry item for $12 profit! Complete rip off. I'm demanding a return of all my items ASAP! Do not consign with this company your better off giving the items away to someone for FREE! Extremely disappointed!

I've been trying and failing to have a reasonable conversation for 20 days with customer service that is anything but service-oriented. My account is blocked for no reason, they will blame everybody but themselves, and will keep your store credit. STAY AWAY.

Be really careful when selling with this company! They lost my origin dust bag, I ask them to send it back. They never did. And they put my another item on sale without even letting me know! Would never use it again!

They have had my item to consign for a month. It's been verified and priced but waiting for weeks for someone to take a photo. Massively understaffed and any answers from customer service are inaccurate and inconsistent. Sell your items elsewhere and save yourself a ton of aggravation. I called to get item back and now i will have to wait another 30 days completely missing the holiday. I was told not to worry and that Valentine's Day is right around the corner. That is NO way compensates for TRR lack of staffing, holidays, and poorly crafted answers.

TheRealreal customer service is completely useless and considers ghosting an acceptable business practice. I accidentally entered the wrong shipping address and had noticed as soon as my order confirmation email was received. I immediately contacted customer service. I didn't hear back from them for 2 days and was told the issue was being moved up the chain. 2 days after hearing nothing I message Therealreal again and nothing. 2 days later my order was shipped. When the package never arrived I messaged the for a 3rd time and was then asked what my issue was. I still haven't heard a response. Whoever runs their customer service department is completely asleep at the wheel. Ironic seeing the automated email advertising is relentless.

I bought my items on black Friday on a deal that gave buyers 40 dollars in site credit if they spent $250 and bought 4 tops. The first part of the order came and one of the sweaters had a small sized rip in the back. I contacted them about this and they offered a 12 dollar site credit or a free return. I took the site credit because if I returned it, I would have lost the sale credit too and not really have gotten my money back. Then the last part of the order came and the other sweater had a hole where the
Bottom part of the button should be. I don't think I can even replace the button snap either because it is a vintage Versace button. I didn't bother contacting this time for another $12. The sizing was accurate but the conditions of the items were way off, especially for the price, and since the two in bad condition were by far the most expensive of the order.

Real Real is impossible to deal with, has a fractured communication system with multiple reps contacting you via text and email but no one can answer where your lost consigned item is and they advertise they will pay more than 2x over other resellers. I could have made more thru Craigslist or eBay and they priovide 0 documentation - impossible to with with.

My husband bought me a gift off The Real Real. It was a vintage sweater with some small damage noted on the item. They failed to note a glaring piece of damage (a hole right near the breast) that they then shipped to me. My husband was mortified since it was a gift. When we asked for a refund we were told "store credit" despite it being their error. They stopped responding to questions for return labels and other necessary information in order to even return the item. Use another site. They don't inspect their items and their CS is abysmal. X

Delays, excuses, incompetent evaluators... and all this while promising VIP sellers get priority processing. The worst customer service ever experienced... they obviously don't value the people who provide their source of income.
There's a fast turnover of consigned merchandise, but something I just consigned sold at a mere pittance of the estimated price! Kind of like bait and switch. Give a decent estimate at which you think the item will be sold, and then they list it for a fraction of the estimate! Very dishonest to the consignor. Also, I was told i was at 60% commission, but after two pieces sold, one for 30% the other for 40% commission! This is downright dirty business. I only gave 2 stars because things sell quickly. Of course! They're being sold for nothing and taking the majority of the profit
After waiting weeks for my order when it finally did arrive it was the wrong color with no tags attached. I called for a return label and explained to Sylvia your CSR person why I was returning this item and requesting a full credit back to my credit card which I will be looking for no later than 12/7 or I will be contacting my Credit Card company. Did you people rip this item off someone's back? And you advertised the item in the color blue it wasn't blue it was black.

I paid 1700 for a FAKE LV bag I am absolutely gutted. My first initial problem was the fact I had received this bag with the previous owners gum in the front pocket that had gone all dusty and started to form mould which went through to the other side of the bag, at first I thought, accidents happen... Then I started to really think to myself if this company have a rigorous authentication process there is no way you could miss that, so I started comparing to my other vintage AUTHENTIC pieces and something just didn't add up, I then sent in my photos to bagaholic to have the bag authenticated, wow guess what? ITS A REPLICA! I have been scammed and had my hard earned money taken from me. This company is going to fall hard one day, after seeing all the bad reviews, this is criminal. I will be telling anybody who will listen, I contacted them in regard to the gum, they offered a 200 credit for the store, I didn't accept, however now knowing it's a FAKE, I'll be doing anything I can to make sure I get my money back, but now I'm to scared I won't get my money back due to some of the other reviews saying they haven't been refunded! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY SCAM SCAM SCAM!

I ordered a pair of very expensive jeans,sizing was stated at 33 upon receiving the item it's tags stated 32 I should a 10 year nephew the tag and he said 32 So never take their sizing as exact,try emailing them and try to get them to validate size on a product,that's impossible at the Real Real And when you return it they do issue the full refund and keep about $20 So they will not change the sizing when sent back and keep shipping it as a 33.Their mission statement should be "what you see is not what you get ".Probably paying for TV advertising with the money they keep on returns.

Aside from the sometimes slow refresh rate - which may be due to the many items on the search result - RR should consider showing the actual number of items found on the search. Additionally, it would be very helpful if RR offered consumers option to set how many items per page view. Please offer the consumer some control for a more convenient shopping experience.

Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
