7 items out of a 13 item order were not fulfilled due to what they called a "system pricing error". I spent 3 hours picking my items just to have less than half of them delivered. All I got was an email saying "sorry for the disappointment" but we made a "system pricing error". Basically, they first sold the items, later decided that they priced them too low, and just didn't send them. If they make mistakes, the consumer always takes the fall. Terrible practice! Instead of a useless sorry email I'd like the 3 hours of my life back please!
I was excited to purchase and consign with Real Real based on the great advertisements.
(Sigh) Them overpricing wasn't my issue; the touch-and-go Customer Service I was able to overlook, but the false advertising, not able overlook. I purchased a vintage Gucci Bag expecting slight wear and tear based on the description and the great (now I've realized Photoshopped picture) photo.
The pic and the description omitted information. The bag was in horrible condition and needed a lot of care and repair.
Bought Nike uptempo sneakers said they were men's but they are woman's even has w on box so sizing wrong! They should Google shoes before listing
Don't ever list with those guys - they do not offer quote - they take your items and place it on sale the price they want - my $14k Vuitton watch was sold $2k! After commission I pocketed $1700 - what a scam! I will never list an item there ever again
I sent several high end items in early December. Many are still not active. I also received notification that an item was being returned after 10 days. So, to me that mean someone wore it and is done with it. I will not use this service again,
Ausgezeichneter Service in diesem Geschäft, Manager antworten schnell und klar auf alle Fragen von Interesse, die Lieferung erfolgt schnell
I received a store credit due to an item being grossly misrepresented and dirty when I received it. I returned it and didn't feel like I should pay for shipping when they item was stained and ripped. I used the credit towards a purchase which I ended up returning. Didn't realize the store credit would not be included in the refund. Their quality control has really gone down in the last few years and customer support is non existent. Will be deleting my account with them and the app. Garbage product.
If I am lucky items arrive as described in a timely manner. Unfortunately many items that I purchased arrived with undisclosed holes and damage. They generally will offer free return and repost the item without any additional information regarding the damage. I find this extremely frustrating as a shopper since from the moment I place an order it can take up to a week to arrive and than printing and returning the item takes additional time and energy it takes at least an extra week for the return to arrive at the warehouse and several more days for the refund to process. Obviously no one compensates me for my waisted time and energy. Some associates are helpful but some are not and take a very long time to resolve an issue. I recently bought several winter clothes including cashmere sweatpants, hat and jumpsuit all arrived full of holes. The company offered free return for damaged items or very small compensation to keep the item and avoid the return.
This company makes it almost impossible to speak to someone over the phone. They sent me something that had its size mislabeled on the website that came with a handwritten note saying "oops this was mislabeled." But they still sent it to me and charged me! Then they wouldn't refund the full shipping costs except for a "site credit." When I finally got ahold of someone they were rude and condescending.
As a shopper, no complaints great site. But if you decide to consign with them, understand there will be 0 customer service, your items will be lost and damaged, and they offer 0 accountability. They simply do not return emails, and if you dare to sit on hold for 2 hours to get someone on the phone you'll probably be promised followup that never occurs - via chat I've had rude and dismissive reps at time. They've lost about a thousand dollars of merchandise on my account, and right now I'm going back and forth with them because I requested some listed items returned 2 months ago and haven't been able to get an answer/ get the items shipped back (even though they are already down from the site). Used to be good, now a nightmare. And I'm a "VIP consignor" lol.
I purchased a Gucci jacket from The Real Real which never arrived. After about a month, UPS still couldn't find it and TRR issued my refund. No fuss, no hassle.
I want to note that the website is very easy to use, easy to place an order, the clothes are very high quality and comfortable, thank you
I like everything in this store, a huge selection of stylish and high-quality clothes at very affordable prices
I am having the worst experience with Therealreal, I spent A LOT of money for a purse with chains. When i received the item the chain was missing? I have been contacting them repeatedly for over a week trying to get some sort of answer about where the chain is. I spent over 200$ on custom duties to receive it, so returning it would put me down by that. Wanted to wear the bag this week but i can't without the chain. They don't care about customer experience please shop elsewhere!
I am so tired of having to follow up on site credits owed to me or promotions promised but then not delivered. I tried to call customer service and now they won't even take calls. You have to email or text complaints and you get stock responses without any resolution. Beyond frustrating!
I sent in a rare vintage Dior bag to consign through the RealReal in great condition. They sent it back to me in horrible condition, saying they "couldn't authenticate it". Now this bag is completely worthless, as they have ruined almost every single inch of it. I will NEVER use the RealReal for consigning OR purchasing ever again.
Good store, I want to say that I am very pleased with the purchase, a wide selection of great clothes at affordable prices
I was looking at purchasing a FLL sweater. I googled the sweater to see more pictures of it and saw TRR was selling it for more than it was NEW at FLL ($135 new on FLL site and $155 on TRR). I contacted them about it and their response was laughable. However, I have bought several items and haven't had an issue - though I would never consign because the amount you get for them is so low.
I discovered The RealReal in November and have made multiple shoe purchases since. Since I don't always know my size in designer shoes, I ended up having to return a lot of the purchases. It was super easy. Take note of whether the shoes are final sale though. I bought 2 pairs that were final sale but luckily I loved them. I haven't looked at anything else on the site so can't speak to the other categories but the shoes are mostly good. Early on, I had a weird experience where the site was declining any card I tried but I contacted customer service and they fixed it. They were pretty responsive.
I have purchased 3 items from The Real Real. Two were fine. However, a pair of expensive earrings just arrived with very poor latches. For the price, I am not comfortable wearing them because they do not sufficiently close. First, they were left in a box at my door. I am so grateful that a neighbor picked up the box, because they would have been taken. Second, we were gone for the holiday, and I am unable to return them because of... over the return time limit. My only recourse is to consign them with (you guessed it) The Real Real. Instead, I will take them to a local trusted jeweler and probably pay a lot more to have the latch issue corrected. I am going to do that, but I am done with The Real Real. If you order ANYTHING from them, make certain that the box will not be left outside your door. I could have lost the $500.00 earrings, or the $1,000.00 ring had it not been for my neighbor.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if this does not answer your questions or if you feel that the explanations provided were not applicable to your situation. You can reach out to our Customer Service Department at (855) 435 5893 from 8am to 5pm (PST). If you would like to speak to a supervisor directly, please feel free to ask for Caitlin from our NJ office. Answer: If you like to be frustrated, disappointed and want to take a few years off your life, then yes consign with the real real.
Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,
Answer: Hello, We are sorry to hear of your concerns. If you can please send us your order number or email address we will happily research this further.
Answer: Hi Frank, Thank you for reaching out. We apologize you have seen more negative than positive reviews. We would be pleased to advise you on our consignment process and share a little more insight about the RealReal.
Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
Answer: I have returned things with no hassle at all.
