I'm a long time Consignor and a shopper or at least I was until recently, Unfortunately I've had back to back poor experiences recently as a Consignor and as a shopper. There are many other choices if I want to sell my premium designers in new condition and 50% off. I don't go to the real real to heavily discount unnecessarily. So unfortunately I'll be rarely consigning at The Real Real going forward. Regarding shopping, there are mistakes on listings and I buy premium designers which are always final sale and The Real Real wont take them back, so I'm now no longer a shopper. Finally the responses from the customer service agents are often condescending. Overall my experience recently has not at all been positive.
I now have a beautiful wardrobe of beautiful clothes, in stunning colours and fabrics for the same price as buying everything from H&M.
I think I've decided to never buy new clothes again. This is the right sustainable thing to do anyway, and I look fantastic for it as well
I explained to your customer service representative that two dresses I ordered that both were over $600 came to my house dirty instead of owning up and saying they would compensate me for return shipping they told me it wasn't their fault and it was the shipping companies fault and they would not compensate me for the shipping I am very dissatisfied an angry

Well let's see, I tried them text option. You can reas the receipts. The customer service representative was obviously not reading my texts and offered no resolution. I took a hiatus from the Real Real and I'm sending I need to take another.
I've been customer since 2013. I've seen how quality of clothes has declined the past 16 months. Items are dirty, have stains, missing buttons etc. None of these have been mentioned in descriptions. Last week I returned Dior's silk robe which was in a very bad condition. It was listed again (after my return) as good quality. The fabric was worn out and dirty plus the belt was hanging (2/3 of stitches were missing). An item like this should have never been accepted in the first place not to mention listed again. The decreased quality is very sad to seen. It's also a question of trust ie can I trust your product descriptions. Right now I don't.
I love RealReal. I basically got a high end, entirely new winter wardrobe for a fraction of what these pieces would have cost new. (Example: Burberry Classic Trenchcoat in like-new condition for $200 - it's a $2400 coat; $450 Bali pants with tags for $40.) The only downside is the sizes presented in the website can vary wildly so you'll most likely receive things that won't fit as stated.
(I returned more items than I kept.) The good news is that RR has a streamlined process to accept returns and provide credit with no questions. It's also a lot of fun to be able to purchase these luxury items that I'd never buy at full price. It's a great treasure hunt!
Extraordinary customer service and great company. I have both sold and bought from them and have 100% satisfaction. They have beautiful things. I love my new, beautiful shoes and clothes I bought from them. Also, I have sold some nice pieces, and it feels good to bring in new things at a discounted cost to enjoy in the place of the shoes and clothing I have sold. Love The Real Real!
I've been a customer (buyer/consigner) for a very long time and recently have had and continued disappointment with my consignment. TRR customer service has listened however its NOT resolved and it's been going on for 3 months.
Item was as pictured & described. Love the bag. Very happy with item & condition. Expedited shipping to have for the weekend.
I was told I had a site credit on the realreal website and was directed to look for a code in an email. There was no email. I submitted a screengrab so they the realreal could honor the offer. I heard nothing.
While most experiences have been great, I have had a couple of hiccups with TRR. To their credit, they have resolved this issues which is great. Sometimes you cannot avoid an undesirable situation however the fact that they have tried to resolve it, that is commendable.
I buy a Celine skirt over the knee, and i have a cutted Celine skirt, hand made and horrible!
One month demandong a label fir return it. And here i am, with a hand cutted skirt, imposible to use!

I purchased two chic blazers one for casual wear and one for an evening dazzling look. The prices are always good or their are discounts to look forward to. Happy with the overall purchase. Sometimes listing details can be off though.

This is the second order I've received with the wrong size sent to me. Idk how you mess up a size 12 in men and send me a size 6
Sent a set of vintage silverware in original box. It was returned despite being pre approved. Item was returned completely damaged box smashed. They repurchased the box at $100 well under the value and then took 60% of the "sale". Oh they gave me "store credit"

Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
