Rubbish on-campus recruiters who scams students into working hard for the role and providing false hopes, only to go into radio-silent mode. No Nobasic decency of responding to say "sorry you did not get the role", leaving eager learners in limbo
I ordered four pairs of boots in my size only 1 pair was the correct size - they literally can't figure out the size of the shoes they are selling. This is the 2nd time it has happed to me
I've bought several items from the RealReal, and I'm happy with all of the items I actually received. What I am not happy about are two purchases I made that were cancelled for suspicious reasons. The first was a Breitling watch that was listed at a great price. My purchase was cancelled for no reason and the watch was sold at a much higher price a month later. The second was a pair of Judith Ripka earrings that I bought and were also cancelled for no reason. A day after the cancellation, the earrings were listed on the site as "coming soon." A few weeks later, they were sold. I feel like RealReal employees cancel sales so they can snag what they like. Or they get mad at good deals and randomly raise prices. That pisses me off to no end.
I ordered for the first time. Very happy with the product and the level of service. Item was shipped quickly, neatly packaged. The quality is top notch. Definitely will order again!
Purchased a high end handbag and after a week contacted customer service to ask why it had not shipped was then told they no longer had the item and would refund me. Obviously disappointed but it was ok I would be refunded, WRONG! 2 weeks later and I am still trying to be refunded! After finally getting 90% of my money back they told me the rest the refunded in "store credit" because they are not allowed to refund shipping!?!? What shipping? According to them I never had an item to ship they didn't have my item so why am I not allowed a full refund that is ridiculous! A store credit I will NEVER use because this site is absolutely horrible! I would never recommend this site.
Beware TheRealReal.com!
If you do go to its site, examine the photos carefully. Be alert for undisclosed damage, broken locks or zippers, missing pieces (like buttons!), misleading language (it has "tags," but what it really has is an "authenticity card," or it comes with a "dust bag," but it's NOT the original/trademarked dust bag), stains, rips, tears, etc.
If/when you get an item, examine it immediately upon receipt. Look for the damage/problems as outlined above which were not evident upon inspection of the photos. If there's a problem, call promptly. Don't get sucked into the "texting" ruse. Speak to a staffer. Don't let the staff tell you that something isn't returnable or any of that baloney. Don't pay for return shipping for something that was damaged and wasn't disclosed.
I am in the process of returning a worn alligator bag. It was originally very nice, and it's nice now, even if worn. No problem. TheRealReal disclosed the wear as "moderate" wear. "Wear" is something I can live with. But what I WILL NOT live with is the 5" split in the skins, which was not disclosed. How can they see the wear in the corners and (somehow) miss the split in the skins?
And the thing I particularly dislike about TRR is that they'll (eventually) accept this return and then blithely relist this purse without updating the condition for some other sucker to buy.
Really, these people wouldn't last 5 minutes on ebay before they'd be ridden out of town on a rail.
You can barely understand the customer service representatives. They make you pay for both rounds of shipping even if the item is damaged or broken!
I ordered a blue jersey DVF dress, paid for shipping and waited forever then received the WRONG dress! Had to pay to ship it back. They only reimbursed for the dress no reimbursement for shipping! I'm out $33.90 in shipping. No apology, no credit. Awful! Will never order again, and do NOT recommend.
I ordered under the guise of thinking I was ordering from Canada since I had to select Canada upon entering the site. I tried to email them immediately to cancel but received an email saying they won't respond for 3 to 5 days which makes it obviously too late. I then tried to call them and there was no answer. I also found out that with their exorbitant shipping fees, it doesn't include duty. Every other business allows you to cancel if it hasn't shipped yet. I'm so disappointed. Never again! And I plan on sharing this experience with everyone I know.
This place is terrible. They've sold me fake goods. They've "lost" my returns. They've "lost" designer jewelry I've consigned. Most recently: they refuse to provide a refund of $600 in merch I've returned. It may seem like a good deal at first, but NOT worth the headache. Take your hard earned dollars somewhere else.
I sent a watch Chanel 23 days ago fpr them price, so I could choose if I would accept or not the value offered. They lost the watch and is taking several days to
Give me a final
Answer, or they want pay 2k for the watch that cost 7.5k today. I do not accept 2k. They keep
Asking to me wait, but I am
Done waiting. I want my watch back. Is only problems and stress making busness with this company.
If you are thinking of selling your items with TRR, DON'T!
They offer ZERO communication or effort to resolve any issues. Not to mention that it takes MONTHSSSSSS to receive anything you want returned for any reason. If you try talking to them about it- they won't even respond! I am in shock regarding how this company has been run. My items have been lost and nobody has even taken a look into it.
Looking into taking further measures.
They lost 10 items valued at approximately 5-6K and for 4 months gave me the run around and lies of the status of the items. Continues to be on going without any confirmation of payment or reimbursement. The items have not been posted for sale, nor do they show up in my consignor profile. It's been "under investigation" for over 3 months. Each rep tells me different updates and know of them show any progress of whether they can confirm they've lost it, if they were reimburse me, or what action they can take. TheRealReal is absolutely the worst company I've ever dealt with. If anyone wants to look into a legal options together, I'd like to connect.
I would never, ever sell with them again. I sold a few Reformation pieces with them. Payout took forever. I also sent them a ring that they discounted to death. I asked for it back and sold it myself for three times what they were asking. But I have gotten some real treasures from TRR including pristine Max Mara and Mara Hoffman, and vintage jewelry at great prices though I feel for the consignors who likely aren't getting what they could get elsewhere.
I purchased a Jovani dress from this site that was 100% fake. Not even a good fake, it was downright awful. When I called customer support, I was not able to talk to anyone in the United States in person or via text. They completely leave you hanging via text so the chat closes after a couple hours. I really felt like they were trying to give me the run around for as long as they could so I would be outside the return window. However, I was persistent and finally, after about the 5th try was able to get ahold of someone who would help me with the return. I sent pictures and details of the item number that was supposedly an "authentic" Jovani item number, only pulled up a mass marketed crap quality dress that is sold on eBay. Despite all of this, as soon as I received my refund confirmation, I received an email stating the dress is "back in stock" So now they are knowingly scamming people and still claiming they spend hours "authenticating" each item.
This company does not return calls or emails. (call office to numerous items with them, and when I saw the prices they wanted to list them at my ask all my items to be returned to me. Instead of returning it to me they went ahead and sold some of my items at about 10% of their value. This is not acceptable to me and I will be proceeding with legal action. The remaining items that they have of mine they refused to return, I have sent over four emails and there's still no response. This has been going on for three weeks now.
Their commercials say 90% off name brands, but there is no way anything on their site is 90% off. $12,000.00 for a purse? Maybe if it's made of solid gold. But that's besides the point. Point is, these items are not discounted as advertised.
I have tried 4 times to reach TRR. I spent $600 on a planter that arrived in pieces.
Their customer service sucks and I will never buy from them again
Most unprofessional consigner, They hold your luxury good before they are listed on the site and hold them indefinitely when you request their return to seller. I would never buy or sell with them again.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if this does not answer your questions or if you feel that the explanations provided were not applicable to your situation. You can reach out to our Customer Service Department at (855) 435 5893 from 8am to 5pm (PST). If you would like to speak to a supervisor directly, please feel free to ask for Caitlin from our NJ office. She is available from 9am to 6pm (EST) and of course you can reach us via email at: [email protected].
Answer: If you like to be frustrated, disappointed and want to take a few years off your life, then yes consign with the real real.
Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,
Answer: Hello, We are sorry to hear of your concerns. If you can please send us your order number or email address we will happily research this further.
Answer: Hi Frank, Thank you for reaching out. We apologize you have seen more negative than positive reviews. We would be pleased to advise you on our consignment process and share a little more insight about the RealReal.
Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
Answer: I have returned things with no hassle at all.
